*Tachometer is inop. (A guy on ebay will repair the rheostat and re-program for under $200)
*Very small dent on passenger lower rear corner near bumper

-Positives-
*It holds 7 people
*You will be stylin'
*It can climb a house (a very small house, and preferably an underground one) (AKA, has all kinds of power with the big engine and 4-wheel drive)
*It's clean, all leather, loaded
*You can get in and go anywhere and not have any issues
*Aside from the tach, airbag light, no problems
*Freezing air conditioning (Not literally freezing, but hey it keeps it cold!)
*Total babe magnet
*You can tow with it, or pull from the front hooks
*Automatic Start (aftermarket)

I bought this in August of 2012 with 109k miles.  It was my daily driver for the winter as my other car was in storage.  This is a great vehicle, but I'm tired of borrowing people's trucks when I haul things (such as motorcycles, fence material, building supplies, dirt, rock, etc...) because I don't have a trailer and I can't put most of the stuff I haul from time to time in this.  It just doesn't make sense.  Furthermore, with my R/C airplane hobby, by the time I load up my airplanes to go to the flying field, I can't take anyone with me to share my enjoyment because there is no room but for me (the driver).  It's time to let her go.  Aside from the oil changes, I've only replaced the battery in November and added a K&N Air-Filter.  The oil pressure stays where it should, the 4wd works great, transmission shifts good, the brakes are good, the glass is good, there are no tears or rips in upholstery, it has never been smoked in, etc... Buy this and be happy.

Potential buyers:  I just want a small deposit $100 at end of auction via paypal.  Your bank can wire funds to my bank upon your arrival, inspection and purchase.  I will most definitely take cash, and will not entertain personal checks, rubber checks, bogus checks, etc... I've handled way too many fraudulent check reports at my job, sorry.  Call me, come see it, come drive it, let's make a deal!

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.

Hot Wheels Camaro to make big debut at Indy

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

Chevrolet handed over the keys to 33 Hot Wheels Camaro Convertible Indianapolis 500 festival cars this week. Race directors get the luxury of driving the droptops around Indianapolis in an ongoing tradition with roots all the way back to the 1960s. The stunt is supposed to remind area residents that the Indy 500 is right around the corner. The cars are our first look at the special Camaro Hot Wheels Edition in convertible form, and they are slated to head to dealers after a one-time production run. The cars also represent the first time in history full-size Hot Wheels have been offered for sale by an automaker.
The cars will be available in both the previously seen coupe bodystyle and this convertible configuration, and will feature metallic blue paint and special wheels with the iconic redline accent. Buyers will be able to choose between the V6-powered 2LT trim and the V8-powered 2SS guise.
Hot Wheels says the original Custom Camaro toy was one of the original 16 1:64-scale diecasts, and it remains one of the company's most valuable collector items today.
