Condition

Drivetrain

Engine starts right up and runs strong.  159k all highway miles. NO knocks, NO smoke, NO dripping engine leaks.  Transmission shifts into and through all gears smoothly.  Has proper acceleration and cruises at highway speed.  The 5.3L is one of the most durable and efficient 8cyl engines Chevy produced and should easily last 300K+ miles with proper maintenance.  This was a fleet maintained vehicle with regular servicing, including oil changes at proper intervals.  Recent Service: New Batteries

Exterior

Paint has all of its factory shine and glistens in the sun as you can see.  There are some minor scratches, nicks, and things here and there on the body.  No major dents or rot on the body.  The passenger side mirror has some cracks on the glass.  Please keep in mind this was a service vehicle and not showroom new condition but is in good condition for the year and mileage.

Interior

Interior is in good condition with minor to average wear.  The driver seat has a chunk or foam missing and a rip on the side edge.  Aside from that the seats are in good condition.  Vinyl floor is in good shape with no excessive wear marks.  There is a tiny hole in the dashboard surround where an indicator light may have been.  The passanger side power mirror does not work.  Interior is fresh and clean and has been professionally detailed.

Wheels and Tires

·  Tires have approx 50%+ tread remaining.  Full set of factory police package rims and caps.  The information message center displays a "service tire pressure monitor" message.  Does not effect driveability.

I have test driven this vehicle over 100 miles and it should have no problem going anywhere.  I have tried to describe the condition to the best of my ability but this is merely a guideline and repairs may be required.  As I recommend to all my customers, you should have your mechanic look over any newly purchased vehicle before extensive use.  I have tried to list as many details about this vehicle as I can, including known defects.  There may be deficiencies that I am not aware of so buyers are encouraged to inspect in person.  This was previously a police vehicle and may have greater wear and tear than private vehicles.  Vehicle is otherwise sold as-is and where is with no warranty express of implied.  If you are local I encourage and welcome you to come down and test drive the car for yourself or have an independent inspection completed PRIOR to bidding.  There will be no price adjustments or cancellation of sale for failure to do so.  I am happy to answer any questions so feel free to e-mail me or call.

·  Payment Details

A non-refundable deposit in the amount of $500.00 must be made via PayPal within 24 hrs of auction's close.  Balance to be paid within 3 days via certified/cashier's check from a verifiable institution, US postal money order (no other's will be accepted due to counterfeit MO's going around), or cash (in person only, DO NOT mail cash).  A document/prep fee of $150.00 will be added to the winning bid price.  If you require documents to be mailed please add $20 to final price for overnight service.  Item must be picked up within 10 days of auction's close unless you make other arrangements with me(just ask).  If not, buyer agrees to pay $20/day storage.  Sorry but I can not have vehicles sitting here for weeks or months.  IF DEPOSIT IS NOT RECEIVED WITHIN 24 HRS OR PAYMENT IS NOT RECEIVED WITHIN 3 DAYS, VEHICLE WILL BE RELISTED OR SOLD TO NEXT BIDDER.  Cyber_lot.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.
