1998 Chevy Venture Van. I bought this van used July of 2003 with 75,000 miles on it from the dealership I work at, I have been an auto mechanic for over 25 years. It has a GM serta remanufactured transmission that has been serviced every 30,000 miles. The engine has been gone through at 150,000 miles, had valve job and all gaskets and seals replaced and also within the last couple years has new battery, changed all filters, new rear wiper motor, new fuel pump assembly, new vent valve and canister, all hoses and belt replaced, plugs and wires, control arm bushings and sway bar links. Oil has been changed every 2,500 miles, coolant flushed about every 3 years, trans serviced about every 30,000 miles, and power steering and brake fluid flushed several times. Tires are about 9/32 tread fronts and about 6/32 tread rear. A/C works good. This van is mechanically very good shape and well maintained, ready to go anywhere, anytime. If it wasn't for the rust, I wouldn't be replacing it. 179,244 miles but may change some as this van is drove most days. You must be willing to pick up from my home near Preston, Iowa 52069. GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.

After a bright-yellow false start, here is the real thing: the fourth-generation, 2015 Corvette Z06. If Chevrolet makes a ZR1 version of the C7 Corvette, it's going to be absolutely mega, because the Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.

Thu, 28 Feb 2013During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
