1955 Chrysler C300

Engine: 331 cubic inch dual 4 barrel hemi 300HP, SN: 3NE552278 (The prefix 3 establishes that it a genuine C300
engine) The engine was rebuilt by Jim Page the former Holly racing rep. Parts were supplied new by Hot Heads in
Lowgap, NC. It has the solid lifters that give it the distinctive high performance sound. It is equipped with
stainless steel valves and double roller camshaft drive. The engine was fully balanced prior to assembly. It only
has break-in miles on it. It has a 9.5 compression ratio to run on pump gas.

Transmission: the correct 7 clutch transmission was professionally rebuilt by Lynn Harmes Performance transmissions
in Denver.

Brakes: New wheel cylinders, brake linings and wheel bearings have been installed. The power master cylinder was
rebuilt by Whitepost restorations.

Body: The color is black painted complete in single stage Deltron paint. Some non structural rust correction was
done on the rear fender area prior to painting. The bumpers have been rechromed but all other trim is original
finish.

Wheels: The wire wheels are original. Tires are brand new Diamond back radials with wide whites

Interior: The interior is a professionally installed Goers kit that is an exact copy of the original tan cowhide.
Seats, doors, carpet and trunk were totally redone.

Glass: The glass is probably original and is clear. The windshield is pitted but is clear with no cracks or
bull’s-eyes. Manual operation of window works properly.

Miscellaneous: A new exhaust system with modern mufflers has been installed. All shocks are new with air lift
shocks in the rear. The radiator has been recored with a modern core so the engine never overheats.

Chrysler celebrates 30 years of minivans with special editions

Tue, 03 Sep 2013

It's been known by many names: the Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Caravan, Plymouth Voyager, Chrysler Voyager, Lancia Voyager, Volkswagen Routan, Ram Cargo Van... but the bottom line is that Chrysler's minivans have defined the segment for 30 years now. In fact, Chrysler says it has sold 13 million of them since 1983, helped along by the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan that accounted for nearly half of all minivans sold in the United States just last year. So to celebrate this three-decade milestone, the Auburn Hills auto has announced a pair of new special editions.
The 2014 Chrysler Town & Country 30th Anniversary Edition starts the Touring-L trim and includes such special touches as 17-inch wheels, unique badging, available Granite Crystal Pearl paint and an interior decked out in black Alcantara and Nappa leather, piano black trim and all the optional bells and whistles bundled in.
The 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan 30th Anniversary Edition, meanwhile, starts off with either the SE or SXT trims and also upgrades with 17-inch alloys as well as color-keyed mirrors and an interior with silver stitching, piano black trim, power everything, and of course, those special badges.

KBB 2013 Brand Image Awards has some obvious and oddball winners

Sat, 30 Mar 2013

The sixth edition of the Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards have crowned a wide range of winners - in a couple of cases the recipient of the laurels might say more about KBB users than they do about the actual winner. Compiled from the responses of more than 12,000 shoppers on KBB.com over the past year, there are 13 categories broken into non-luxury, luxury and truck segments "representing the combined wisdom of the American car-buying public."
The award categories have been revamped this year, with some dropping off, some new ones appearing and at least one other given a new term. What isn't surprising is that Honda won Most Trusted Brand for the second year running, Best Value Brand for the third year in a row and took Best Overall Brand, which wasn't on last year's list of awards.
On our own shores, in the non-luxury categories Chrysler got Most Refined Brand and Buick took Best Value Luxury Brand. Neither one of those marques won anything in last year's Brand Image Awards, while Cadillac, which won Best Interior Design Brand and Best Comfort Brand last year - those awards disappeared this year - went home without a single accolade.

Small number of 2013 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger models recalled

Sun, 24 Feb 2013

A small number of units of the 2013 Chrysler 200 (inset) and 2013 Dodge Avenger are being recalled over a broken control valve in the fuel tank assembly. The potential 1,785 sedans were manufactured late last year, and if affected with a broken control valve could suffer from stalling or fuel leakage.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notes that the recall should begin next month, at which time owners can take their cars to dealers for repair free of charge. The full release with more information is just below.
