1964 Chrysler 300K

This beautiful 1964 Chrysler 300K was purchased with the intention of showing it this up-coming car show season, but it doesn't appear myself or my family will be showing this one as much as we would like.  Therefore, I would like to give someone else an opportunity to own this car great car.

Beautiful color and a nice original car with some light restoration done (only as needed).  70,736 original miles, very rare options, and always garage kept.  This 300 drives and shows great.  This will be a good investment and a fun car for the next owner.  There were less than 400 of these made with the 390HP 413 Cross Ram.

Details/Features:

  • 413ci Wedge V8 Engine (390 hp with the Cross Ram 2 X 4)
  • Torqueflite Transmission (3 Speed Automatic)
  • Power Steering
  • Power Brakes
  • Power Windows
  • Air Conditioning (currently not working)
  • Power Seats
  • Sure-Grip Rear
  • Tilt Wheel
  • AM/FM Reverb Radio
  • Dual Mirrors
  • Dual Exhaust
  • Windshield Washer
  • Extra parts, manuals, and books included

The engine runs and sounds fantastic!  It was completely rebuilt within the last few years (bored .030).  In addition; the steering box has been rebuilt, it has a new power steering pump, remote brake booster, mufflers and pipes, shocks, front bushings & ball joints, brake job & master cylinder, and the transmission was fully checked and re-sealed.  The car gets down the road and will flow with modern traffic effortlessly and has all the stop light power you would expect!  Drives like the luxury muscle car it was designed to be ...  All the gauges and lights work, as do all four power windows.  Original clock works and the AM/FM Reverb radio sounds great.  Steers and stops with ease.  It is ready to drive and enjoy right away.  Will win a trophy at nearly every car show.

This is really a nice original survivor car that has been painted (about 10 years ago).  Good floors and under-carriage.  No rust issues on this car.  Interior is factory original and VERY nice.  The driver's seat has some wear (a couple of splits starting), but they do make reproduction front seat material if the new owner decides to change them (I have decided to keep all of the interior original for now).  Overall, it's a sharp looking and driving Chrysler 300K.  Hard to find one of these in this condition and with these options (especially an original Cross Ram car).  It has been loved and cared for since it was new.  I hope the photos show how nice this one is!!

I am starting the bidding low, but I do have a reserve.  Please bid what you wish to pay, as I may consider selling to the highest bidder even if reserve isn't met.  I may also add a "Buy it now" price later in the listing.  If you see that added, and you feel the price is fair, feel free to click that and make it yours!

I welcome inspections and appraisers.  Shown by appointment.

Drive home or I can help ship this car to your door at a reduced rate via enclosed transport.  If you are a long distance or overseas, I will try to work with you on the shipping .....Please contact me for details.

I reserve the right to end the listing early at any time.  The car could be for sale locally as well.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.  Again, highest bid will be considered at auction end.  All serious offers considered!!

If you need help financing, I would suggest contacting a great company such as JJBest. They are easy to work with.

NHTSA releases updated Takata airbag recalled cars list, but it still has errors

Wed, 22 Oct 2014

Unfortunately, the government's list still contains errors.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued an updated list of vehicle models that it's urging owners to repair under the mushrooming Takata airbag inflator recall. The latest version adds vehicles from new automakers like Subaru and Ford that are missing from the original announcement, and it also removes erroneous entries from General Motors, leaving only the 2005 Saab 9-2X (a reskinned Subaru WRX), and the 2003-2005 Pontiac Vibe, a joint project with Toyota.

What will the next Presidential limo look like?

Thu, 25 Jul 2013

With recent news that the Secret Service has begun soliciting proposals for a new armored limousine, we've been wondering what the next presidential limo might look like. The current machine, nicknamed "The Beast", has a design based on a car that's no longer sold: the Cadillac DTS. If General Motors gets the job again, which wouldn't be a surprise considering the government still owns a chunk of the company, the next limo's shape would likely resemble the new XTS (below, left). But Cadillac hasn't always been the go-to car company for presidential whips.
Lincoln has actually provided far more presidential limousines throughout history than Cadillac. In fact, the first car modified for Commander-in-Chief-carrying duty was a 1939 Lincoln K-Series called "Sunshine Special" used by Franklin D. Roosevelt, and the last Lincoln used by a president was a 1989 Town Car ordered for George H.W. Bush. If President Obama wanted a Lincoln today, it would likely be an amalgam of the MKS sedan and MKT crossover, as illustrated above.
And what about Chrysler? The only record we could find of a President favoring the Pentastar is Nixon, who reportedly ordered two limos from the company during his administration in the '70s, and then another one, known today as the "K-Car limo," in the '80s after he left office. Obama, however, has a personal - if modest - connection to Chryslers, having owned a 300 himself before he took office. A 300-based Beast (above, right) would certainly earn the U.S. some style points.

Fiat Chrysler's London offices will be small, with financial focus

Tue, 20 May 2014

Fiat Chrysler's decision to locate its new corporate headquarters in jolly old London won't herald a sprawling relocation effort. Instead, it's very likely that the FCA outfit will be a small one, primarily focused on finance.
The report comes from Automotive News Europe, which claims FCA's London office will employ about 50 people with backgrounds in finance. CEO Sergio Marchionne and Fiat Group Chairman John Elkann will both have offices at the corporate headquarters, as well.
ANE cites an anonymous source that claims the people employed at the London office will focus primarily on treasury operations. It's unlikely that FCA will take on any additional employees specifically for its UK offices. That said, FCA isn't likely to downsize either its Turin or Auburn Hills offices once London comes online.
