1937 Chrysler Imperial C-14 Touring Sedan on 2040-cars
Garland, Utah, United States
I am selling my 1937 Chrysler Imperial C-14 Touring Sedan. There were only 11,976 of these cars produced. It has the 274 Cubic Inch straight 8 rated at 110 H.P. The car only has a couple of thousand miles on it after a ground up restoration. I purchased the car from the daughter of the guy who purchased it in2007 from a wrecking yard, he passed away a few years ago and his daughter took it over, it sat around for a few years in a storage shed. I bought it about a year ago and brought it back to life. I have a CD that has about 200 pictures of the car from the day it was bought up through the process until it was finished. I will include some of the pictures in my add.
I will go through and explain as many things as I can that I have done to the car since purchasing it, I'm sure I will forget a bunch. I have all of the receipts for the work the gentleman did and also all of my receipts. The car has new glass and rubber all the way around, I have the old glass if anyone would like it. I just had the bumpers, the bumperettes and the trunk hinges rechromed in February ( not cheap, but they look awesome ). The car had the motor, trans and differential completely rebuilt and in the last couple of months every oil on the car has been drained and replaced, new antifreeze, new belt, the generator was rebuilt last month and the 6 volt battery is brand new. It has newer brakes and brake fluid, rebuilt original Stromberg carb. It has the original 3 speed transmission with the factory overdrive, the car cruises at 65 M.P.H effortlessly. It has the roll out windshield I had every gauge rebuilt to keep it all original, every gauge and light work including the rare factory electric clock. As you can see from the pictures the spare tire is brand new and all 4 Firestone tires on the car are pretty much new. I have some spare paint left over and made myself some touch up bottles and quite a few extra original parts. There is also quite a bit of spare fabric and carpet left over. This car really does run and drive beautifully, it's definitely one you could jump in and drive right now, it needs nothing. I will leave the shipping up to the new buyer but I will help any way I can. If the car is sold I would like to have a $500.00 deposit as soon as possible and then settle up the rest as quickly as we could. Please feel free to call me with any questions, Ron @ 435-339-9010. Thanks for looking. |

Fiat shareholders green-light Chrysler merger, end of an Italian era
Fri, 01 Aug 2014Fiat has just taken a major step away from its Italian heritage, as shareholders officially approved the company's merger with Chrysler. That move will lead to the formation of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV, a Dutch company based in Great Britain and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, according to Automotive News Europe.
The company captured the two-thirds majority at a special shareholders meeting, although there are still a few situations that could defeat the movement. According to ANE, roughly eight percent of shareholders opposed the merger, which is a group large enough to defeat the plan, should they all exercise their exit rights outlined in the merger conditions.
Meanwhile, Fiat Chairman John Elkann (pictured above, right, with CEO Sergio Marchionne and Ferrari Chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo), the great-great-grandson of Fiat founder Giovanni Agnelli, reaffirmed his family's commitment to the company beyond the merger. Exor, the Agnelli family's holding company, still maintains a 30-percent stake in Fiat.
Chrysler shows creative side with employee art exhibit
Wed, 27 Nov 2013The United Auto Workers and Chrysler recently sponsored 92 works of art created by 50 of the automaker's unionized and salaried employees for the 2013-14 Artists at Work Exhibition, the ninth such show, which recognizes the creative process required to make art and manufacture vehicles. Chrysler says the event is "the country's only juried art show sponsored by a major corporation and a labor union." Unfortunately, the exhibit is not open to the public, but we have images to share of the winning pieces as well as other interesting exhibits in the gallery above.
"Art and manufacturing have more in common than you might think," says Keith Mickens, Chrysler-UAW National Training Center co-director from the UAW. "The creative process involved in producing a memorable image on a canvas can be used to help build quality vehicles on an assembly line."
A diverse range of art forms are showcased, from metal sculptures to ceramics to photography to paintings and more. Four Detroit-area professional artists narrowed down over 600 submissions to the 92 works of art that were shown at the exhibit, then awarded "Best of Show" prizes to three employees for their work (the first three images in our gallery) and selected 11 employees for honorable mentions. The overall winner is the sculpture above by Joseph Aiuto, titled "Childhood Anxiety."
Ram helps power Chrysler to 11% gain in May
Mon, 03 Jun 2013Increasing consumer demand for Ram pickup trucks and big SUVs has helped to boost May sales for Chrysler. Ram sales were up a total of 24 percent year-over-year for the month of May. In addition, Dodge sales increased by 23 percent in May, with the standout Durango clocking a 24-percent year-over-year improvement (with an updated 2014 model in the wings, incentives are thick on the ground for 2013 inventory). Fiat and Jeep were up only a modest one percent, however, and Chrysler brand sales were down by two percent against last year's figures.
Chrysler is quite pleased overall with brand performance, saying that this May marks the company's strongest in the past six years. It was also the 38th consecutive month showing year-over-year sales gains.
Eight of the automaker's vehicles set sales records for May, as well: Jeep Wrangler and Compass, Dodge Avenger and Challenger, Fiat 500, Chrysler 200 and Ram pickups. Scroll down to read more detail in Chrysler's press release.
