Description:  This 1965 Chrysler New Yorker is an excellent car that is mechanically sound and looks great as well.  Everything on the car works properly and it can easily be driven around town all day and also be driven safely on the highway.  The car is all original except for a recent re-paint in the original color.

Exterior:  The exterior of the New Yorker looks fantastic.  All of the doors and panels fit together perfectly, the car is rust-free, there are no dings or dents, the trim is in excellent condition, and there no chips or cracks in the glass.  The car also has unique features such as dual glass headlights and a vinyl rear roof pillar insert.  The car was re-painted in the original color which is a beautiful Sequoia Green Metallic. I would rate the paint a 6-10.

Interior:  The upholstery in the car is original and has been repaired.  All of the buttons, switches, and dash instruments work as they should.  The heater and A/C work perfectly as well as the radio. The instrument cluster and some electric motors for the windows were replaced.  There is brand new carpet in the original black/grey colors and the headliner is also in great condition.

Drivetrain:  This car is powered by a 413 CI Firepower V8 that puts out 375 HP and is mated to a smooth and reliable 3-speed automatic transmission. The car has a completely original, numbers matching drivetrain, the motor and trans were recently serviced, there are brand new brakes including the master cylinder, and also new front end bushings.  The car drives perfectly straight and the steering wheel does not shake during braking.  This is a very driver-friendly car.

Key issues:
-Passenger Rear Motor Needs to be rebuilt
-Passenger front drivers seat needs to be reupholstered. (quoted at 300.00)
-Rear passenger Top Seat has tear in material. (Also quoted at 200.00 to fix this)
-This is a straight body, no accident history, or bondo whatsoever.
-Car is in great overall condition
-Underside is solid

2015 Chrysler 300 looks to recapture its mojo in LA

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

Chrysler's 300 sedan has never been a shrinking violet, but it arguably lost a bit of swagger when its second-generation model bowed. There was no way that an evolutionary design could ever upend the automotive establishment the way the original 2005 model did, but even so, something was clearly left on the table when the 2011 model bowed.
You don't have take our word for it - Chrysler knows it, too. Reflecting back upon the second-generation model's styling today, Ralph Gilles, Chrysler's senior vice president of design is refreshingly candid, telling Autoblog, "Our previous generation of leaders didn't understand the car very well, and kind of forced this front end on us." For 2015, Gilles and Co. have worked to recapture some of the 2005 design's lightning in a bottle. In Gilles' words, the brief for the refreshed 2015 model was to "give the car the attitude it deserves... up the attitude, up the presence."
Visually, the new 300 initially appears very similar to the current car, but closer inspection and side-by-side comparisons reveal countless changes, the most noticeable being a much larger front grille (by about 30 percent), redone light fixtures and a 'Mobius-strip' lower fascia that picks up where the new 200 left off. The cabin has been upgraded, too, with a standard seven-inch display in the gauge cluster, the latest UConnect infotainment system and improved material choices.

Chrysler defies NHTSA, says it won't recall 2.7M Jeep Grand Cherokee, Liberty models

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

Facing a possible recall totaling around 2.7 million of its most popular SUVs, Chrysler remains insistent that the 1993-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty are safe vehicles. This comes on the heels of a recall request from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for these two models due to fuel tanks mounted behind the rear axle, which could possibly be ruptured during severe rear-end collisions, leading to an increased risk of fire. In response to the allegations, Chrysler says that it does not agree with NHTSA nor does it plan on recalling either vehicle.
Chrysler said both SUVs "met and exceeded" the requirements for fuel-system integrity, and cooperated fully with NHTSA since the investigation was opened in 2010. While 15 deaths and 46 injuries have been reported from fires caused by rear-end collisions on these models, Chrysler is claiming that the vast majority of incidents cited by NHTSA were "high-energy crashes," including one where a stopped Grand Cherokee was rear-ended by a tractor trailer going 65 miles per hour.
The automaker wraps up by saying "NHTSA seems to be holding Chrysler Group to a new standard for fuel tank integrity that does not exist now and did not exist when the Jeep vehicles were manufactured." Scroll down for Chrysler's official response to NHTSA, but we're pretty sure this isn't the last we've heard on this issue.

Chrysler recalling 278,222 trucks and SUVs over bad rear axles

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

Chrysler has issued a recall of 278,222 light trucks and sport utility vehicles here in the United States. The reason: bad rear axles. Specifically, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the rear axle pinion nut may lack a necessary adhesive patch, which could cause the nut to loosen. If this happens, the axle can lock up, which could cause all sorts of havoc on the road.
This is an expansion of the rear axle recall announced in October of last year, where 44,300 Ram 1500 and Dodge Dakota models were being called in. At that time, 12 accidents had been reported due to the faulty axle pinion nut.
Affected vehicles include Ram 1500 trucks from the 2009 to 2012 model years, Dodge Dakota models from the 2009 to 2011 model years, and both the Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango SUV twins, both from the 2009 model year only.
