You are looking at an extremely nice example of an original 1979 Ford Mustang. This car has been well kept its entire life as you can see. Being garage kept its entire life, this car has been greatly preserved. The cars looks excellent and shows very well. Everything functions on the car just as it should. The car has 52,000 miles on it which is nothing for a car this age. This car would be great o keep the way it is, or a perfect candidate for a V8 Swap. The body is super solid and all the lights, gauges, electrical, everything works. Just drive as is or swap a V8 in it or go crazy and make it a street rod or drag car. Perfect car for any of those things.

I ahve all of the original paperwork for the car. Owners manual, service records everything. The Buck tag is still on the radiator support also.

I'll go over the car by area to give a further breakdown.

Body:

The car has absolutely no rust on it. The car has always been kept in a garage, preserving it from the elements. The car is really straight and very dry and rust free. The car is overall very straight. I think I have seen a total of maybe two tiny body imperfections on the entire car. The car's weatherstripping isn't even dry rotted or anything. It was kept in a climate controlled garage.

Interior:

The interior is in like new condition. All of the lights work, door buzzers, everything. The map light looks like it has never even been used, and all of the chrome trim and plastic is in excellent condition. The seats look amazing. There is literally hardly no wear on them at all. There are no broken pieces of interior anywhere. Ash tray door, door panels, everything is perfectly intact and fully functional. There are no cracks int he dash pad or anything. A perfect example of a well preserved car.

Paint and Trim:

The paint on the car for its age is actually very nice and still shines up great. The bumpers are faded a little because they are rubber, but other than that the paint is in really good condition. The chrome trim on the car is in amazingly great shape. Really astonishing how well this entire car has been preserved.

Drivetrain:

The cars drivetrain is 100% original. V6 engine with an automatic transmission. The engine starts right up and the car drives just great. The car has a couple very minor leaks but that's mainly just from sitting for years. The car has a new fuel pump on it. Its doesn't make any noises or anything. Great driving car.

I have added a bunch of pictures of the car to the photobucket account. Please feel free to look at all of the pictures and ask any questions that you might have. Also feel free to come and inspect the car.

Honestly, you will be hard pressed to find another car as great and preserved as this one. We will ship this car. Shipping costs are to be paid by the buyer. Car is being sold as-is where is with no warranty expressed or implied.

Thanks for viewing and Happy Bidding!!

Chrysler's Hurricane engine detailed ahead of 2016 launch

Fri, 20 Sep 2013

We've been hearing distant rumblings about Chrysler's new Hurricane engine for some time now, but details have been hard to come by. Now, Automotive News is adding some specifics to the scuttlebutt, citing Chrysler documents. According to the industry publication, the Hurricane will blow onto the scene in 2016, but it's not an all-new engine. Rather, it will be rooted in the company's existing 2.0-liter four-cylinder Tigershark powerplant (shown above), albeit with "many new technologies to achieve excellent fuel economy."
It's not clear what sort of technologies Chrysler is referring to, but the Hurricane is expected to continue to use an aluminum block, and the finished product is expected to generate even better figures than the existing 2.0-liter's 160 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque (as found in the Dodge Dart). Automotive News notes that the updated 2.4-liter Tigershark debuting in the entry-level 2014 Jeep Cherokee has its basis in the 2.0-liter lump, but unlike the smaller engine, it's been fitted with MultiAir2 electrohydraulic variable valve timing to realize 184 hp and 171 lb-ft and greater efficiency.
Perhaps the Hurricane will incorporate the latter in its bag of tricks? Either way, we're hoping for a more generous torque curve than the what's in the current 2.0-liter Tigershark, which is something of a slug in the Dart - even for a base economy compact.

Chrysler and Google launch virtual 200 factory tour [w/video]

Tue, 23 Sep 2014

Google is no stranger to showing off some of the most interesting automotive destinations in the world, like the museums for Lamborghini and Ducati, or even a Tesla showroom. However, it's taking that technology even further with a new, in-depth look of the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant where the Chrysler 200 is made. Unlike these earlier online excursions, the new Chrysler factory tour is a fully guided experience that includes several 360-degree videos explaining many parts of the production process.
"Just as we pioneered a completely new Chrysler 200, we are pioneering a new way for consumers to research a vehicle. The Factory Tour is an opportunity for us to prove to consumers that the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 is not one ever built before," said Olivier Francois, Chrysler's chief marketing officer, in the company's release.
Chrysler was already pretty proud of its nearly $1 billion in recent updates to the Sterling Heights factory having released a look at the 200's assembly process earlier this year. However, the new Google tour goes far deeper by including 12 videos, and between highlighted stops, viewers can swing the camera all over to get a full view of the action. The whole thing is an intriguing way to show the way a modern car gets built.

Fiat Chrysler quietly sends Pentastar logo out to pasture

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

Logos come and go, and in the case of the famed Chrysler Pentastar, it's on its way back out. The well-known five-sided emblem, which sits prominently atop the massive Chrysler Technical Center complex in Auburn Hills, MI, is officially going to be phased out now that the company has united with Fiat and formed the new Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
As a nearly 50-year-old icon, though, the fate of the Pentastar has been deeply intertwined with Chrysler's history. Hemmings has an excellent recap of that history, from its development in 1962 by a Chrysler ad agency through to its temporary discontinuation during the disastrous marriage between the American company and Daimler-Benz, and then on to its revival during the time the automaker regained its independence.
If you've been a fan of Chrysler and its brands over the years, you're going to want to give this piece a read. Head over and take a look.
