Greetings, You are bidding on a 03 Chrysler PT Cruiser. Now, before you start yelling "200,000 MILES", there are some things you need to know. First, this vehicle has been owned by my family since the day it was new. 90% of the miles that are on this vehicle are highway miles. We drive from Ohio to Florida at least 5 times a year, so the up-keep on this vehicle needed to be top notch. To keep from getting stuck on the road, anything that looked anywhere close to needing repaired or replaced was done right away, and with attention to detail. It had to be with the amount of miles this vehicle traveled in the course of a year. The engine was replaced with one that had less than 4000 miles on it at 160,000 miles. So the engine has around 46,000 miles on it. Also replaced at the time was the timing belt, water-pump, plugs, wires, most of the gaskets, and seals, starter, engine mounts and struts, all fluids, all engine sensors, injectors, and a complete diagnostics of all systems to ensure quality work and operation. The Transmission was replaced at 140,000 miles. So the transmission has around 63,000 miles on it. With its replacement came a new torque converter, complete flush of the service lines and cooler, and a new control module. Also replaced was the radiator, hoses, cooling fan, brakes to include calipers and rotors, front struts, rear shocks, rear anti-sway bars, front anti-sway links, headlight lamps (White Light) Air Conditioning serviced, K&N Air filter, Axle Shafts, front wheel bearings, 4 wheel front end alignment, battery is one month old. The vehicle was repainted one year ago and shows no signs of rust anywhere (probably because it has been garaged its entire life, even at work). Other than a few chips, it looks like new. New front windshield, and no issues with any other glass in the vehicle. Tires are 80,000 mile Michelin and have approximately 50% wear on them. A rear hitch was installed with a pre-wired 4-way flat connector. Now to the entertainment and interior. Since I spent so much time on the road, I wanted the top-of-the-line entertainment center that included not only standard am/fm/cd radio, but also a back-up camera, DVD Player, XM Radio, Turn by Turn Navigation, IPod connect, and bluetooth that includes an external mic. This is all accomplished within one well installed unit that has a flip-up screen. Also included is a amplifier that is pre-wired to the back of the vehicle to except add-on speakers. Two aux 12v power sources were installed both front and rear as well. The driver seat was rebuilt by the Chrysler dealership to include a new seat cushion and some hardware. It seats just-like-new. The rest of the seats show just as well with no stains, rips or tears. Carpet and headliner shows just as well as the seats do. Rear seats are removable and really open up the back of the vehicle to hauling options. You will be hard pressed to find another vehicle in as good of shape as this one with half of the miles on it. I kept this vehicle nice and well maintained out of necessity, and someone is going to get the benefit of the work that has been done to it. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalls nearly 750k vehicles in two campaigns
Thu, 16 Oct 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling a total of 747,817 vehicles in the US in two separate campaigns recently added to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration database.
The first one covers about 434,581 units of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango, and Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 2011-2014 model years with electric hydraulic power steering, the 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 160 amp alternator, according to FCA. In the affected vehicles, it's possible for the alternator to fail without warning and possibly cause the car to stall. According to the documentation submitted to NHTSA, the automaker began investigating the problem in August 2014 and has found possible evidence of one crash caused by the failures but no known injuries.
Customers will begin receiving notification about the recall next month, and obviously the repairs will be done at no cost to them.
Chrysler recalling 630k Jeep models worldwide
Thu, 06 Jun 2013Despite its refusal to recall 2.7 million Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty models this week over a gas tank fire risk, Chrysler will be recalling 630,000 Jeep Compass (pictured), Patriot and Wrangler vehicles around the globe for a pair of entirely different reasons.
The affected Compass and Patriot models are all from the 2010 to 2012 model years - 254,000 in the United States, 45,400 in Canada and 109,000 elsewhere in the world. In these models, a software error may result in the late deployment of the side airbags and seatbelt tensioners. In the event of a crash, failure of these systems could result in more serious injuries for the vehicle's occupants.
Jeep's go-anywhere Wrangler also faces a separate recall due to power steering fluid lines that can possibly wear a hole in the transmission oil cooler line. According to Chrysler, the vehicles could then leak fluid, possibly damaging the transmissions. Roughly 221,100 Wrangler models are being recalled because of this issue, all of which are fitted with Jeep's 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. In the US, 181,000 vehicles are affected, with an additional 18,400 in Canada and 21,700 additional units worldwide. A Chrysler spokesperson said that no crashes or injuries have been reported with either case, according to the Associated Press.
Chrysler called out over lackluster Ram Runner by racer who helped develop it
Fri, 11 Apr 2014Fans of off-roading and desert blasting might recall that Chrysler offers an aftermarket conversion that can turn a Ram 1500 into a road-legal desert racer, called the Ram Runner. The kit, sold through Mopar, includes some significant suspension upgrades, body tweaks and a brawnier cat-back exhaust for the truck's 5.7-liter V8.
Considering all of this, comparisons with the almighty Ford F-150 SVT Raptor are common. Among the off-road community, that makes these two a sort of Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang for people that prefer driving on dirt. In the Race-Dezert forum, the discussion as to which truck was better was proceeding as normal - Ram fans said their piece and Ford fans said theirs. Then, a man named Kent Kroeker offered up his two cents.
See, Kroeker is a Baja racer, and the man that helped develop the Ram Runner. Despite his association with the truck, though, he had some less than kind words for Chrysler and the Ram Runner.
