This once top of the line T&C was last on the road in 1988. My father purchased it for its parts for another project which never materialized. This was a registered running car when parked. This T&C appears to be complete with all of its parts with exception of its missing alternator. The body is straight with no rust or major damage. However unfortunately this car has sat out in the weather the last 25 years so the interior and paint have been cooked by the Texas heat and sun. The motor still spins freely and is not frozen up. My father was great at making sure the cars which sat outside were drained of their coolant so that no cracked blocks happened. I would bet that with a fuel system clean up and tune up this car would easily move again under its own power. While the tires are holding air, the steel belts in them are rusting through causing the tread to separate from the main inner core of the tire.

Chrysler shows creative side with employee art exhibit
Wed, 27 Nov 2013The United Auto Workers and Chrysler recently sponsored 92 works of art created by 50 of the automaker's unionized and salaried employees for the 2013-14 Artists at Work Exhibition, the ninth such show, which recognizes the creative process required to make art and manufacture vehicles. Chrysler says the event is "the country's only juried art show sponsored by a major corporation and a labor union." Unfortunately, the exhibit is not open to the public, but we have images to share of the winning pieces as well as other interesting exhibits in the gallery above.
"Art and manufacturing have more in common than you might think," says Keith Mickens, Chrysler-UAW National Training Center co-director from the UAW. "The creative process involved in producing a memorable image on a canvas can be used to help build quality vehicles on an assembly line."
A diverse range of art forms are showcased, from metal sculptures to ceramics to photography to paintings and more. Four Detroit-area professional artists narrowed down over 600 submissions to the 92 works of art that were shown at the exhibit, then awarded "Best of Show" prizes to three employees for their work (the first three images in our gallery) and selected 11 employees for honorable mentions. The overall winner is the sculpture above by Joseph Aiuto, titled "Childhood Anxiety."
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles targets mid-October IPO
Thu, 04 Sep 2014The merged Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is targeting October 13 to launch its initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange, CEO Sergio Marchionne told reporters assembled for a meeting in Rimini, Italy.
"The most likely date for the listing in the US is October 13," Marchionne said, according to Reuters.
Marchionne is trusting that the money made in the IPO will be contribute heavily his ambitious, $64-billion five-year growth plan, which will see FCA reboot Alfa Romeo and Maserati and expand Jeep's global presence. Should the IPO fall short, though, Marchionne has confirmed that "all decision [sic] on any capital increase will be taken by the board of FCA at the end of October."
