1974 Datsun 260Z 2 + 2
All Original 1974 260Z 2+2 with 62,270 miles substantially rust free California Car now in Florida. Bought the car in California in 2005 with 55,643 miles and shipped it to Central Florida as a gift to my Dad. The car is all original. He had driven an identical model from 1975 to 1995 until the body rusted out. I had looked for 10 years until I found this one. We only replaced the original radio and removed emission controls in the engine compartment, but these are still available and included with the car. It comes with the Chiltons’s and Datsun Dealers Service Manuals, original owners manual, two sets of original keys, original Jack and 4 original hubcaps with an additional 6 available. He drove it up until 2011 when he had health issues and passed almost a year ago. The car sat in his garage for the last two year. I just had a shop go over the car and they flush the fuel system, replaced the starter and both mechanical and electrical fuel pumps, replaced the battery & rebuilt both carburetors and she is running good and ready for a new home. Running non-ethanol fuel since the rebuild which is better for the seals in the engine and allows the car to run better. Currently has Antique Florida plates and the paint is all original (paint code 904 White) and in good shape but it has some minor cosmetic issues for a car of 40 years old end of this year. I had a 1975 280Z 2+2 back in 1987 that wasn't no where near in this good of shape. If you love and know Z cars, you can see this one is in very good shape. Reality check...There is a small dent on the drivers door by the trim, both front seats have small tears in the areas at the location that these Z models all get tears. A new set of covers goes on eBay for about $200. The dash has a couple cracks as they all develop cracks here and a cap is $120 on eBay. Of course the dash clock is non-operative, don't think I have ever seen one working in a Z car. There is some very minor rust on some of the panels which can be seen in the hi resolution photos I have posted on this auction. The photos tell the tale of what you are bidding on, but if you have question or need additional pictures, let me know. If you are looking for an all original car with minor defects and low mileage...this is your car. |

Datsun to unveil second model later this month
Sun, 08 Sep 2013Datsun, Nissan's new sub-brand for emerging markets, has announced plans to unveil its second model. Its first, the Go, was unveiled almost two months ago, and promised affordable, connected motoring for five in a handsome hatchback body. Datsun is following that up with a pair of new models for Indonesia.
The first of these two new vehicles will be shown on September 17 in Jakarta, eschewing the typical auto show debut. It's targeted at so-called "risers," the nickname for a group of highly aspirational customers in the Indonesian market. Datsun developed it locally with help from Nissan, and it'll cost under 100 million Indonesian rupiah (about $8,900 at today's rates).
We'll have the full boatload of information on the newest member of the Datsun family when it debuts on September 17. Scroll on to read the full press release from Datsun.
Datsun expands low-cost revival with new Mi-Do in Moscow [w/video]
Fri, 29 Aug 2014Those who were disappointed when Datsun changed its name to Nissan over three decades ago may have been pleased to see the marque revived last year, even as a budget brand. Nissan's counterpart to its ally Renault's Dacia budget brand, Datsun has been steadily expanding its lineup of low-cost transportation for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback in India, the Go+ minivan in Indonesia and the On-Do sedan in Russia. And now it has returned to Moscow to reveal its fourth model, the Mi-Do.
Based closely on the On-Do sedan (which itself is based on the Lada Granta) the Mi-Do takes on a five-door hatchback bodystyle but with no more frills. It uses the same front-drive chassis with the same wheelbase as the sedan, but its chopped tail makes it a good foot and a half shorter overall. Into that compact shape, Datsun has fitted dual airbags, ABS and... well, that's about it. It's got a 1.6-liter, eight-valve inline-four kicking out a grand total of 87 horsepower to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. Bare bones, this is.
While delivery of the first On-Do sedans commences next month (with the first example going to an IT specialist in Omsk), the Mi-Do is set to begin delivery early next year. Scope out the video and press release below from the Mi-Do's reveal at the Moscow Motor Show.
Renault planning a Tata Nano rival. Again.
Wed, 28 Nov 2012Four years ago, Renault confirmed that it would partner with India's Bajaj Auto to develop a rival to the Tata Nano. At the time, as everyone waited for the Tata Nano to arrive, you could have used a Richter scale to measure the tremors the executive suites of any automaker with an interest in the low end of emerging markets. Then the Nano, still the cheapest car in the world, didn't sell so well - at the end of last year its sales were just six percent of its most conservative projections - and everyone seemed content to let Tata spend the money to figure out if there really was a market for the cheapest car in the world.
Renault believes there is, kind of. Automotive News Europe reports that it will partner with Nissan to build two low-priced cars for emerging markets, one for €3,000 ($3,888 U.S.) and another for €5,000 ($6,400 U.S.). The price of the least expensive offering is nearly $1,400 more than a Nano, which costs $2,500, and that can't be considered a small sum in comparison. But one of the hindsight knocks on the Nano has been that even in emerging markets buyers don't want a car whose biggest lure is that it is cheap; they'd rather give their aspirations a bit more of a workout.
Renault's offerings are scheduled to hit the non-Western market in late 2014, which is coincidentally the same year that will see the return of the budget-minded and emerging-market-specific Datsun nameplate. They'll be built in Renault facilities in Chennai, India, with no mention made of Bajaj this time around.
