1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Convertible
This is a special car! It is an unrestored all numbers matching Big Block 383 Magnum, 727 automatic transmission REAL R/T Convertible! It has never has had any rust ever and it is documented with its’ original window sticker, original dealer purchase invoice, original owners manual, Galen
Govier paperwork, tons of registrations, receipts, inspection paperwork and more! It sold new in Texas and then
spent most of its life in Mexico.
Garaged and kept inside this car was protected from Mother Natures elements and still retains all of its original sheet metal, its original and perfect dash pad, its original convertible top and unbelievably it even has its original exhaust system! The car has never been taken apart and the engine and transmission have never been out of the car. It has only 86K original miles on it and the date coded original spark plug wires are still even on the car! There has been a quality repaint of its original color of EV2 Hemi Orange and it looks beautiful. Also included with the car is an original Mexican Newspaper from 1971 where the car was featured on the front page of the paper with professional golfer Lee Trevino riding in the back of the car in a parade celebrating Lees exceptional golf season that year! And interestingly, the original dealer invoice shows
that the original owner traded a one year old 1969 Pontiac Firebird in on this Challenger R/T convertible when it
was brand new.
This car came from the factory just the way you see it here. Special order high impact EV2 Hemi Orange with a
White top, White R/T side Stripes and a Black and White interior. It is factory optioned with a Power Top, Rallye
Gauges, Air Conditioning, Bucket seats, AM radio, Power Steering, Light Package, Chrome Racing mirror and more. It
has a nearly new set of Goodyear Polyglas tires on it with the original Ralleye rims and the original space saver
spare and jack are still in the trunk! All of the gauges work including the clock and the radio.
The original fender tag is in place along with all of the matching numbers stamped or showing on the cowl,
radiator support, engine, transmission, drivers door VIN decal , the window sticker, the dealers invoice and the
VIN tag. Dodge built a total of 83,032 Challengers in 1970. Only 1070 of those built were “R/T” convertibles.
And only 516 of them built were 383 Magnum 727 automatic R/T converts!

Dodge celebrates centennial with Charger and Challenger 100th Anniversary Editions
Tue, 19 Nov 2013In 1914, the Dodge brothers went from being a parts supplier to a full-scale automaker, and to celebrate the centennial of this milestone, Dodge will offer special editions of the 2014 Charger and Challenger early next year. Both cars will be sold in limited numbers (although no specific number was given), and these cars will stand out thanks to unique touches like 20-inch wheels, 100th anniversary edition logos and the exclusive High Octane Red Pearl Coat paint job (shown above).
The 100th Anniversary Edition package, which runs $2,200 on the 2014 Charger and $2,500 on the 2014 Challenger, comes with red or black leather seats with a cloud print (for a denim-like look) and metal badges on the seatbacks that read "Dodge Est. 1914," while similar logos are also found on the wheel center caps and front fenders. The instrument gauges are unique to each car, with the Charger getting black gauges and the Challenger getting white gauges, and to enunciate the 100-year anniversary, both cars have red numerals on the speedometer for the 100-mile-per-hour mark.
Finishing off the 100th Anniversary Edition cars, which will be offered on V6 and R/T models, Dodge adds a flat-bottom steering wheel and embroidered floor mats as a part of the package. Scroll down for the full press release for these commemorative models.
Chrysler slows minivan production, hasn't built VW Routan this year
Wed, 13 Mar 2013Chrysler has slowed production of its Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans this week, Automotive News reports. The Windsor, Ontario plant will cut its three shifts from eight hours each to four hours each in an effort "to align production with market demand," a Chrysler spokesperson told AN. Chrysler also builds the closely related Routan minivan for Volkswagen at its Ontario facility, but has not built a single example thus far in 2013.
Sales of Chrysler's minivans fell 15 percent for the first two months of 2013, and a large part of that has to do with the 26-percent drop of the Grand Caravan alone (the T&C was only down by one percent). According to Automotive News data, as of March 1, Chrysler had an unsold inventory of 24,713 Town and Country models and 18,547 Grand Caravans - a 69- and 43-day supply, respectively.
"No sense running full speed now, then have a lot of vehicles sitting around a few months down the line," Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson told AN. Full production is expected to resume again on March 18.
Dodge Charger R/T NHRA Funny Car is ready to burn rubber at SEMA [w/video]
Wed, 05 Nov 2014The Dodge Charger R/T is all set to rocket down the drag strip in NHRA Funny Car competition with a completely redesigned body debuting at this year's SEMA Show. While only the front decal, side scallops and rear logo really signal this racer as a Charger, that doesn't take away from its promise of hitting absolutely ludicrous speeds.
The engineers' biggest tweak to the body was moving the cockpit further back. This created more clearance under the hood, and the change came with added advantage of giving the driver better visibility out of the car. Composites like Kevlar also helped make the one-piece shell even lighter, while not sacrificing strength.
The new design has already undergone extensive time in the wind tunnel and real-world runs to make sure that none of the changes negatively impacted the aerodynamics. With those tests out of the way, the Charger R/T Funny Car will have the first chance to truly prove itself in NHRA competition at the 2015 Winternationals from February 5-9 at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, CA.
