This is a SERIOUSLY NICE CAR I have too many Projects 1972 Dodge 340 4-Barrel 240HP, 727 Torque-Flite Automatic, 83/4 Shur-Grip Rear End all Number Matched, CHALLENGER. 1972......Before the EPA came along and ruined ALL the FUN. When you open the hood all you see is 340 cubic inches of MOPAR small block engineering. This 340 does have a Holley 4-barrel carb, otherwise it's factory NON-Smoking, NON-Leaking, NON-Oil Burning, 240 Horse MOTHER MOPAR That Runs and Sounds Dang GOOD thru a year old Flow-Master Dual Exhaust with Chrome Tips. Automatic 3-speed 727 Torque-Flite Tranny Shifts on the spot and thru a 83/4 Sure-Grip will get you Down the Road without hesitation. The interior is almost perfect with no cracks in the dash or trim, Head liner and all seats redone, Heck even the original AM/FM radio sounds Good. All gauges, lights, blower, horn, even the cigarette lighter and dome light work. Glass is in beautiful condition All sheet metal is clean and rust free and Straight as a Pin. You can't find many 43 year old cars in this condition. She has a few issues, but so did I at This age, Fortunately they are minor and you could drive her for years, but I would consider a re- paint with GOOD STUFF, no clear coat crud. Mopar '14 teased, returns to Challenger
Wed, 16 Oct 2013Every year, Mopar selects one special vehicle from the Chrysler portfolio and creates its own, one-off, special edition. Previously, there was the Mopar '13 Dart, '12 300, '11 Charger and the '10 Challenger, and for 2014, this teaser image shows that the company will be giving the unique treatment to Dodge's muscle coupe yet again.
Mopar has not revealed any details about its '14 Challenger, though the brand's president and CEO, Pietro Gorlier, says that "This limited-edition ride is for muscle-car fans who love high octane and customizable performance." All we know is, it's white, has some blue stripes, and a black (or carbon fiber) rear spoiler.
We'll know more when the Mopar '14 Challenger is revealed at the SEMA show in early November. In the meantime, click the image above to check out the teaser in high resolution, and have a look below for Chrysler's official press blast.
NHTSA investigating Chrysler for airbags, ignition switches
Wed, 18 Jun 2014Chrysler is being targeted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in a pair of actions that focus on over 1.2 million Jeeps, minivans and crossovers.
The first is a "preliminary investigation" that focuses on an airbag issue afflicting the Jeep Commander built in model years 2006 and 2007 and Grand Cherokee from 2005 to 2006. In total, 700,000 vehicles could potentially be affected. It's not entirely clear what the airbag issue is, with The Detroit Free Press simply stating that the restraint systems in the affected Jeeps may be "faulty."
The other investigation is what's called a "recall query" and it covers a problem that General Motors should be familiar with. In this case, there could be a problem with the ignition switches of 525,000 vehicles, ranging from 2008 to 2010 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans, to the 2008 to 2010 Dodge Journey crossover. Again, it's not entirely clear what sort of behavior prompted the 32 complaints that NHTSA has received on these vehicles.
eBay Find of the Day: Viper Defender from '90s TV show
Fri, 24 May 2013As car lovers, it's always hard to find a good television show with decent cars, but what the 1990s show Viper lacked in acting, scripting and plot, it more than made up for with cool cars. For starters, the lead car was a Dodge Viper RT/10, but, on screen, it was able to morph into its "Defender" mode making it an armored coupe with a full arsenal of weapons.
Fortunately, you don't have to be a fan of the bad show to love its lead car, and if you really want one, a Defender is up for auction right now on eBay. According to the listing, this car is the real deal - not a clone - and it comes with a V8 engine (not sure what happened to the V10?) and plenty of swag and memorbilia. No word on its actual asking price, but with a day left and 42 bids already, the reserve has not been met at $133,400. The listing does add that this same car was listed at Mecum back in 2010, but did not get sold, even with a bid of $270,000.
