1968 Dodge Charger Base Hardtop 2-door on 2040-cars

This 68 Charger was 90% restored 12 years ago. I purchased the car from an owner in Missouri.
BODY All body work was completed by a shop in Missouri. The body is very straight and the paint is in very nice shape especially for being 12 years old. It's been garage kept since the restoration. The paint has three coats of clear and it literally feels like glass and is super slick. There a a couple scratches on the hood. I plan to take it to a body shop to see if they can buff them out. There is a crack on the driver's side door by the trim. Rails are in good shape and the under body has been coated. To the best of my knowledge there are no rust concerns with this Charger. The glass appears to be all original and this is a power window car and I recently replaced all the wiring and switches as the old switches were no longer functional. ENGINE The engine is a 1972 400 Police Interceptor. I was unable to adjust the engine type in the Product details but it's a 400 and not a 383. I don't know why the original 383 4BL was replaced. The engine does appear to run a bit rich and dual Flowmaster mufflers are installed. I believe the wheels are original to the car. The front passenger wheel does have some rust showing on it now. It has the original drum brake system with a brake booster. I'm not super technical with the engine and transmission but will do my best to find the answers to any questions. I did purchase a 1968 383 engine to have rebuilt and put in this car along with a 727 torqueflite transmission with a 2500 stall converter. Neither have been installed at this point. They are for sale in addition to the car. ELECTRICAL All exterior lights are functional (vacuum hide-away headlight doors work), interior light works, blinkers work, dash light currently is not operational. Oil and temp gauges do not work. Installed new door locks. I do not have the original jack for the car. INTERIOR The seats are in very nice shape and were recently recovered. The upper door pads have cracks and need replacing as well as the arm rests. Carpet is in great shape and very clean. The radio that was installed has been removed as it was not working. I've been looking for an original radio to install but haven't found one at this time so that area is open. This is a very nice and solid car. It would make for a nice daily drive as it is or a great car to invest in with modern technology to turn into a beast. There are plenty of 68 Chargers out there but it will be hard to beat the condition of this one. I invite any serious buyer to come and look a the car in person so you know what you are buying. Chrysler minivans under investigation for stalling after fuel refill
Wed, 10 Sep 2014According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, at least one man has reported that his 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan stalled unexpectedly on the highway shortly after being refueled. The unidentified man who contacted NHTSA regarding the issue cited as many as eight similar instances reported by other drivers.
NHTSA has announced that it will launch an inquiry into this issue, which could affect as many as 160,000 minivans from Dodge and Chrysler that were sold in 2007 (or more, if a problem is found that extends to additional models years, we'd assume). As of yet, there's no formal investigation, let alone a recall, on these vans, as the agency is merely determining if further action is needed.
Two months ago, Chrysler recalled nearly 700,000 vehicles, the majority of which were minivans, from the 2008-2010 model years to replace ignition switches after an investigation found that their weak springs and detent positions could fool a driver into thinking the car was in the "Run" position, when it's actually in the "Accessory" position.
Dodge Viper GTS-R goes back to old-school livery
Fri, 20 Jun 2014The Dodge Viper may have been around now for over 20 years, but as far as racing achievements go, 2000 was its finest season. That's when it won the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the GTS class trophy at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and its second consecutive title in the American Le Mans Series.
Since then, SRT Motorsports hasn't quite had the same success, withdrawing from Le Mans this year and shedding the Dodge name and its emblematic red and white livery for the SRT badge and a silver snakeskin theme. But now that the Viper is back under the Dodge banner, so too is the racing team returning to its classic livery.
Starting from the six-hour race at Watkins Glen next week, both the No. 91 and No. 93 Viper GTS-Rs will wear the red base color with twin white racing stripes that its more accomplished forebears wore on circuits around the world. And with it, maybe the Viper will return once again to the winner's circle at home and abroad.
Dodge Charger Pursuit nets quickest lap in police car test
Mon, 30 Sep 2013We wouldn't advocate trying to outrun the police, no matter what you're driving and no matter what they are. But if you see a Dodge Charger bearing down on you with blue lights flashing in your rearview mirror, you'd better think twice before attempting to flee, because the Charger Pursuit has once again emerged as the fastest police cruiser out there.
In the latest Police Vehicle Evaluation held by the Michigan State Police at Grattan Raceway, Dodge says its new Charger Pursuit AWD posted a lap time of 1:33.85. That's quicker than any of the other law enforcement vehicles present, but also makes it the quickest all-wheel-drive cruiser available to law-enforcement officials. That may not make it the quickest of all time, but that honor belongs to the rear-drive Dodge Charger Pursuit, which cuts a fraction of a second off its AWD counterpart's time with a 1:33.70. But in regions where the extra traction could come in handy, that's as negligible a difference as we've ever seen.
Of course, the annual PVE sessions held by the Michigan State Police take in to account a wide variety of performance tests, including top speed, acceleration, braking, handling, fuel economy and ergonomics. The MSP has yet to reveal its full findings from its 2014 model year tests, but we'll be sure to bring them to you when they are published.
