Up for sale is a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T. I recently retired to a remote location and rarely if ever drive the car so It's time to pass it on to someone wanting to use the car as should be used. The car is a true R/T with a rare A34 Super Trac Pack option, which includes a 4:10 Dana. This is a consistent trophy winning car that has been restored to very original condition. I did not start the restoration so I unfortunately do not have before and after pics of the previous owners work; however, I have the original build sheet and plenty of my receipts as well as well as a folder full of those from the previous owner. The motor is a non-matching 440 (bored .30 over) with a brand new Demon 750 carb. The carb was recently professionally installed and set up. Nothing wrong with the previous carb, just wanted a Demon. The motor has been professionally machined, balanced, and reassembled with new high performance internal parts including cam, lifters, pistons, etc. The heads were decked and given a street performance valve job, which included new valves, springs, guides, etc. Currently there are approximately 3k miles on the rebuild; however, the engine remains highly detailed, as shown in photo, and shows very well. I have the invoice for the complete engine rebuild which details all the work performed. The exhaust manifolds are stock with 3" FlowMaster pipes. The car runs and sounds excellent producing plenty of power.  The car was painted original B3 blue approximately 8-9 years ago. There are a few touched up nicks and some minor paint checking due to the car being driven and not trailered around. As I mentioned, the car is a consistent trophy winner. The interior is in excellent condition. The original seats are in great condition, the dash is intact without cracks, the carpet and headliner are in great condition also. The car has the factory tic toc tac option, which is non-operational.  I believe the tach is shorted and is need of a rebuild.  All other guages work; however, the fuel guage reads 3/4 full when topped off. The radio is non-original; however, no metal was disturbed to fit the aftermarket radio. The door locks do not work simply because I have not taken the time to install the linkage.  I have the parts, but never leave the car anywhere so I never got around to it. The under carriage of the car is black and very clean.  The trunk is also very nice and has a new mat.  I'm not certain as to what metal has been replaced other than both rear quarters and possibly the trunk floor. The quarters were professionally installed with all correct factory welds. The woodgrain wheel is not correct for the car; however, the wheel and horn pad are in near mint condition with no cracks, splits, gouges, and very minimal wear. The rally wheels are also correct per the build sheet and tires have plenty of tread. I researched the hood graphics and was told by a guy with the same car, same color, and graphics that it was an available option. This is overall a very nice car to drive, show, or both. Feel free to ask questions prior to bidding and I will get back to you asap.  Seller reserves the right to end the auction at any time as the vehicle is also being advertised locally.  Thanks for looking!

Ram to go on a Rampage with new small pickup?

Wed, 16 Jul 2014

When people look back at today's automotive industry, what do you think they'll remember us for? The emergence of hybrids? Ever more expensive and exotic supercars? The dawn of the self-driving car? All likely scenarios, but so is the blurring of lines between one bodystyle and another, giving rise to hardtop convertible coupes and crossovers of every shape and size. But one bodystyle the North American auto industry has stayed largely away from in the past couple of decades is a car nose and chassis with a pickup bed.
It's a bodystyle immortalized by the Chevrolet El Camino, but with few exceptions, we haven't seen too many of these automotive platypuses in recent years on our turf. Subaru tried with the Baja and the low-volume Honda Ridgeline soldiers along largely unchanged, but the genre's biggest adherents are still Down Under, where ute versions of the Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon live. With a few other examples scattered to the four corners of the earth, that's really about it. But if these spy shots are anything to go by, it looks like Fiat Chrysler Automobiles could be working to bring it back.
Spied undergoing testing in Michigan, what we appear to be looking at is a heavily disguised Fiat Strada being prepared - like the Fiat Ducato-based Ram ProMaster and the smaller Doblo-based ProMaster City - for Stateside duty as a Ram product. The Strada, for those unfamiliar, is a product of Fiat Automóveis in Brazil and is based on the Palio economy car. The nameplate has been around South America since 1996 and was originally designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro (long before Volkswagen monopolized his talents), and takes a more rugged approach in the form of the Strada Adventure.

2013 Dodge Dart gets all Moparized

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

Last year, Chrysler announced it would be offering more than 150 Mopar parts and accessories on the 2013 Dodge Dart, and we got a look at some of these parts firsthand at the Chicago Auto Show. Showing off all the optional parts at once would surely create a gaudy monstrosity, so Chrysler chose to equip this particular Dart GT with just a handful of Mopar goodies, which still gave the car a nice and tasteful custom look that is available straight from the dealership (and with a full warranty, too).
Decked out in a factory color called Header Orange Clear Coat - also a very appropriate show car hue - this car added exterior styling parts such as the vented, carbon fiber hood, the bolt-on front chin spoiler and a matte black decklid spoiler. Looking inside the car, you'd think the red-accented interior is part of the Mopar parts bin, too, but this is actually what the standard Dart GT cabin will look like when it goes on sale.

Fiat-Chrysler shows its SEMA lineup

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles already previewed its 2014 SEMA show lineup with some slick renders. Now, the automaker has finally showed us the actual cars, and among the group there are definitely some that stand out more than others.
Dodge is really showing off its muscle at this year's show with four concepts that all pump up the power of the brand's models. Perhaps most interesting among them is the Challenger T/A Concept (pictured above) in striking Sublime Green and matte black. It's meant to resemble the classic Trans Am racer from the '70s. Under the hood is a 6.4-liter V8, and to fit the vintage style there's a pistol-grip gearshift inside.
The Charger R/T also gets some attention with the Mopar concept that shows off what FCA's aftermarket performance arm can do. Mods include an updated body kit, cold-air intake for the 5.7-liter V8 and a coil-over suspension kit. Beyond that, the Dart R/T Concept looks a lot meaner with a black hood with duct work that leads straight to the air intake. The rest of the compact sedan is dolled up in O-So-Orange paint and is fitted with upgrades to improve handling like a coil-over suspension and big brake kit from the Mopar catalog.
