1970 Dodge Charger Texas Car Needs Restoration Very Solid on 2040-cars

Year:1970 Mileage:999999 Color: sail panels
Location:

This 1970 Dodge Charger needs a complete restoration.  It has been apart for probably 15 years or longer.  I bought the car from a mechanic who had planned to rebuild the car someday.  All that was done was the unibody was blasted.  All of the remaining metal and parts were stored in an AC garage or attic for many years.  Rust was not an issue for these parts.  As a result the original padding, metal and all other components looks to be in pretty good shape.  Some metal that will need to be replaced: The trunk pan will need to be replaced, exterior sail panels (around rear window), lower rear quarters.  It needs the normal metal work for a Charger or mopar from Texas.

The Unibody has already been blasted so that all rust holes are visible.  The unibody currently has a temporary protective coating which was applied after it was blasted.  The Charger is originally a 318 manual transmission(D31) car.  You will get an manual transmission with the car as well as a 318 engine and automatic which are currently bolted together.  The Charger does have the original fender tag.  I have many parts with this Charger.  It is an AC car.  All that I have regarding the AC is the AC/ Heater Box. I do not have the rear end for the car.  I am giving both automatic and manual transmission with the car because of this.  The manual transmission has a 18 spline shaft.  The charger has a 4 speed floor console, the doors retain their door glass.  I have buckets of parts for this car.  The grill looks to be in very good shape too! Please see the photos for more details on the parts and the car.

This is a great Charger to build your Clone 440 RT or Clone Hemi RT.  It is very solid for a restoration project!  I have built many B and E body mopars and if I wanted to build a clone, I would use this car!

If you are interested in this Dodge Charger I recommend seeing it before you bid.  If you would like to see the car call and set an appointment.  For any questions or appointments you can call 972.742.8191.

Please note, I have described this ad to the best of my ability.  This vehicle is sold as is where is no warranty implied.

Thanks.

After further research, although I have the fender tag and the transmission number listed in this ad, I wanted to correct myself.  D31 looks to be an automatic 904 transmission.  So this car would have been an automatic car.

Is Mopar readying a special-edition Dart for Chicago?

Sat, 26 Jan 2013

Chrysler has released the above teaser of a limited-edition Mopar 2013 model that will be unveiled at next month's Chicago Auto Show. Although the automaker doesn't announce what vehicle will get the Mopar treatment, closer investigation of the seats and center console suggest that this car will be a special version of the 2013 Dodge Dart.
This will be the fourth Mopar model in as many years, following on the heels of the Mopar 2010 Challenger, Mopar 2011 Charger and the Mopar '2012 300. There are no details for the Mopar '13 Dart, but we do see that the car will retain the signature black-and-blue color scheme as past Mopar editions. Like these previous models, we expect production of Mopar '13 Dart to be limited to just 500 units.
Scroll down for Chrysler's press release teasing the new Mopar model, and we'll be sure to bring you plenty of live images from the show floor in a couple weeks.

Dodge Dart Mopar '13 special edition recalled over airbag woes

Mon, 09 Dec 2013

Dodge is only building 500 examples of the black-and-blue Mopar '13 Dart, but the majority of them are now being recalled. Part of the Mopar upgrade included replacing the stock seat skins in the Dart with black and blue Katzkin leather, but the seat-mounted side airbags were reinstalled improperly during the upfitting process, which could affect the performance of the front seat side airbags.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration bulletin, a total of 374 Mopar '13 cars are being recalled due to side airbags that might not deploy in a side-impact collision. There have been no reports of the airbags not going off, but Chrysler will still need to reinstall the bags to ensure proper deployment. The recall notice is posted below, which gives information for Mopar '13 owners to contact Chrysler and NHTSA.

Roadkill builds crazy-cheap 1968 Dodge Charger rat rod using an old motorhome

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

Certain requests for description simply cannot be fulfilled, like if someone asked you to describe Picasso's Guernica or Gilliam's Brazil. There is only one appropriate answer to such entreaties, and that is: "You just gotta see it." That's where we are with the latest episode of Roadkill, wherein Messr's Freiburger and Finnegan dig out a 1968 Dodge Charger that Freiburger acquired in exchange for a set of cylinder heads, and intend to stuff it with the big-block motor from a long-bed, three-quarter ton Dodge pickup.
Only the pickup is too nice to tear apart, and the Charger needs a whole lot more lovin' - and parts - than initially expected. Enter, stage right, the Class A Dodge Pace Arrow motorhome with a 440 big-block purchased for $1,000, and a retired Plymouth Fury from a previous episode.
What ensues over the course of the 40-minute installment is more cuttin', yankin', leakin', stallin', hammerin' and smokin' action than you've seen in a long time, and some techniques that would have made even Cooter wonder, "I'm not sure if we should do that." By the end, though, the payoff is good enough to make you think about perusing AutoTrader for a '68 Charger just to see if maybe...
