A fun ride on the street, 425 HP 6.1 Hemi, built 727 Turbo action valve body and converter, only the best parts were used to install the 6.1, TTI headers, Koni adjustable shocks up front, new bulletproof driveshaft with 1350 joints, the 4-link, tubs, and rollbar were installed in Ron Butlers shop in LA, Fabtech 9" housing, Strange lite spool, Strange 40 spline gun drilled axels, aluminum Strange ultra bolt thru center with 12 bolt pinion carrier, 11" disc brakes, wheelie bars, Koni coilovers, 16 gallon fuel cell in the trunk, lineloc. The body has never had any undercoat, caulk, or rust, NOS front fenders, show chromed bumpers, stainless has been polished, new superstock grille, and NOS trunk medallion, superstock interior, aluminum radiator, new MT 31x16R-15 Sportsman radials, new Centerline Convo with 26x6R-15 fronts. I have driven it parades when temps were over 100 and down the interstate 80mph with no problems. The Simpson chute is just for fun, a lever beside the driver seat folds it under the tag to make it legal when the law is looking. I have had alot of radical street cars and they all were hard to live with on the street, and this one is really fun with 425+ HP that runs economical, starts and runs like a new SRT-8 should. 2015 Dodge Challenger looks fresh, still plenty retro [w/video]
Thu, 17 Apr 2014It was the Ford Mustang that kicked off the retro-styled muscle car renaissance back in 2005, but it was the Dodge Challenger that served as the movement's poster child, with its unabashedly retro looks. Over the years, though, as the Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro were freshened and upgraded, the look of the big Dodge has remained largely consistent since its 2008 debut. For 2015, the Challenger has received a big freshening, boasting strongly revised front and rear ends and (finally, finally, finally) a redesigned interior.
Let's talk about that new cabin first. It's basically been plucked directly from the redesigned Charger, and boasts the same seven-inch IP display. The center stack's miserable, last-gen display has been replaced by an expansive, 8.4-inch UConnect system. Material quality should see a solid boost with the new cabin, as well.
The exterior, meanwhile, sees a revised front fascia with LED halo lights, as well as new grille inserts. A functional shaker hood scoop is a must-have extra on the V8 models, while the back of the car is highlighted by a new set of LED taillights that don't use the "Racetrack" design of Dodge's other models.

Detroit's new fleet of donated police cars have safety issues [w/video]
Wed, 23 Oct 2013In a show of generosity in mid-August, Detroit's business leaders donated $8 million to the Police Department and Fire Department in order to buy 100 new police vehicles and 23 EMS ambulances. But now officers have discovered - and complained - that the police vehicles have glaring safety issues, Deadline Detroit reports. It is not made clear what models of the fleet vehicles - which include police versions of the Ford Taurus, the Chevrolet Caprice and the Dodge Charger - are affected by the safety issues.
Officers reportedly have complained that the Plexiglass partition separating front-seat officers and back-seat prisoners is easily breached, and that the front passenger seat is installed too close to the dashboard. Prisoners who manage to writhe out of their handcuffs can bend the Plexiglass and reach into the cockpit, and sitting too close to the dashboard can render airbags more dangerous and make officers more vulnerable to injury in a crash.
Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, received the complaints and reportedly said the vehicles would get safety updates addressing the issues. But Deadline Detroit reports that it checked some of the offending police cars and, as of the last few days, they hadn't been updated.
