1967 Dodge Dart Pro-touring Restomod on 2040-cars
Eau Claire, Wisconsin, United States
Up for sale is one of the finest ’67 Dodge Darts you will ever find. This vehicle has well over 2,000 hours invested in the mockup, body & paint, wiring, assembly and road testing. As you can see from the photos, the details reflect the time spent in making the car a well-balanced and well engineered road machine. This vehicle was built in order to show the craftsmanship and attention to detail available at Fast Freddie’s Rod Shop in Eau Claire, WI as well as to showcase some of the latest components available in the automotive aftermarket. This has been the display vehicle at Fast Freddie’s for the last year two years and now it’s time for someone else to enjoy and appreciate this incredible machine. This car was built to be driven from coast to coast in modern comfort with A/C, power rack & pinion steering, comfortable bucket seats, 4-wheel disc brakes, a hush-matted interior and a killer audio system. Although the engine dyno’d at 555 HP and 650 lb./ft. of torque, it still runs on 92 octane pump gas and backed by a Keisler-built Tremec TKO 600 5-speed, it will cruise 65 mph @ 2,000 RPM, making it the ultimate Power Tour car. Pictures do not do the body & paint finish justice, but you can get an idea of how flat the panels are and how well everything lines up. This is a testament to all the time spent mocking up the panels, drivetrain, and steering & suspension to ensure a perfect, well engineered fit after paint. Nearly 500 hours alone were spent in the engine bay smoothing the firewall, hiding A/C lines, routing wiring and making all the pieces look like they belong together. Check out this video of Fast Freddie's Rod Shop to see the car in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7nRmQqmPXo Here is the car featured in both Mopar Muscle Magazine and Car Craft Magazine: http://www.carcraft.com/featuredvehicles/ccrp_1101_fred_kappus_1967_dodge_dart/viewall.html The car has taken several best in show overall trophies as well as best in show paint. It is truly a no-excuses vehicle that is right at home under the lights of a car show, or cruising down the freeway with the tunes cranked up. Now is your chance to own this incredible car that is ready for you to push the start button and get your heart racing! Chrysler recalling 780k minivans over fire risk
Fri, 09 May 2014Chrysler is recalling 780,000 of its Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans from the 2010 to 2014 model years due to the possibility of circuits overheating, which can lead to a fire. Of the 780,000 total vans being recalled, Chrysler estimates that 644,850 are in the US, 106,980 are in Canada, 8,009 are in Mexico, and 20,638 are in other markets. All of the affected vehicles were built between August 25, 2010 and October 31, 2013.
Chrysler's engineers discovered that beverage spills or exposure to moisture (from rain, snow, car washes, and the like) were linked to circuits shorting in the window switch assembly. Short circuits can overheat, and thus, cause a fire.
Chrysler will contact owners and let them know when they may schedule service, at which point, the window switches will be replaced. In the interim, the automaker says that owners may visit their dealers after May 14 to have the switches disconnected.
40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax
Thu, 24 Jul 2014
The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.
2014 Dodge Durango teaser reveals new 'racetrack' taillights
Fri, 22 Mar 2013Not wanting to let Jeep get all of the SUV attention for the 2014 model year, Dodge is unveiling a refreshed version of its Durango at the New York Auto Show. Teased in this image, all we can really tell about the 2014 Dodge Durango is that it will be getting Dodge's "racetrack" taillights similar to the Charger and Dart.
The chrome or painted strip currently between the Durango's Zorro taillamps have been removed to allow for a full-width LED array with "DODGE" lettering displayed more prominently above the license plate pocket. Parent company Chrysler also promises that the updated Durango will add "several new class-exclusive features," but stops short of saying what those are. Earlier reports suggest that among the changes, buyers will be able to look forward to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which ought to improve the three-row SUV's fuel efficiency.
