1971 Dodge Dart Custom on 2040-cars
New Cumberland, West Virginia, United States
Selling my beautiful 1971 Doge Demon that is a proven show winner, this car has won many best in show, best Mopar. It always comes home with a top award. Starting with an engine bay that you could eat off, that sits around a solid 440 BB, Holey 4 barrel, Dougs Header, dual exhaust. The paint is unbelievable Sublime Green, everybody loves the paint, the body is perfectly straight. A fiberglass 6 pak hood is installed but the original steel hood is included and is painted the same Sublime green and black to match the car. The tires sit on Riddler rims 17s in the front 18s in the back. The engine is bolted up to a 11 1/2 clutch and pressure plate mated to a 4 speed with a pistol grip shifter, this car is an original Hurst equipped car. The rear is a 8 3/4 with 390 posi gears. The chrome all around is in great shape. It has the original Radio, but it does not play, an aftermarket sound system with CD player has been installed. It still has the original bench seat, there are a few flaws in the stitching, my interior guy said a few hundred would take care of it but it still shows great. This is a show car but it is road worthy, it drives down the interstate with no problem, I usually do drive it to car shows up to 2 hrs from home. I have described it well but please come and look at it or your representative before bidding, you will be very impressed! I also have a video of the car running and will be glad to email it to you upon request. This car is being sold as is and only because I have to down size, too many toys. 2013 Dodge Dart GT offers subtle menace in compact form
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Dodge has already shared all of the relevant information about its all-new 2013 Dart GT, but it wasn't until now that we've seen the car, live and in person. The slightly meaner front fascia and bigger wheels look great on the Dodge, and the red-on-black perforated seats are sporting in an aftermarket sort of way.
To recap: The Dart GT also gets a bit more power, using a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine to make 184 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. A starting price of $20,995 will get you LED taillights, dual exhaust, an 8.4-inch touchscreen and a 7.0-inch TFT display.
Feel free to re-acquaint yourselves with the full Dodge Dart GT information in the press release below, or have a leisurely browse through our gallery of live images.
Lackluster Dodge Dart sales trigger layoffs
Thu, 06 Mar 2014Hidden amidst the overall very positive sales figures that Chrysler released earlier this week were a few disappointments, the biggest of which may be the Dodge Dart. While Dodge sales in general were down 11 percent from a year ago, the Dart's poor figures stood out from the rest - with 4,888 units sold, the Dart was down 37 percent in February.
It comes as little surprise, then, that the automaker has announced layoffs at its assembly plant in Belvidere, IL. According to The Daily Herald, Dodge will temporarily lay off 325 workers "to balance vehicle supply with current sales demand." Put more simply, there are more Darts than buyers at the moment...
We don't think the Dodge Dart is a bad car, but it's playing in a market that offers a few standout sellers, like the Chevy Cruze, Ford Focus, Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. According to AutoPacific analyst Dave Sullivan, as quoted by The Daily Herald, "great incentives on the Dodge Avenger" are also partly to blame for the Dart's poor showing.
2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat revving is sonic bacon
Fri, 23 May 2014This is the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, and we're sure that by now, you know its stats, including over 600 horsepower from its 6.2-liter, supercharged V8. What, pray tell, does that blown engine sound like, though?
At least judging on the sonic strength of this video, it's very, very dirty. Honestly, it sounds unlike anything that's come out of the Chrysler Group in a long time, if ever. It's loud, almost brutally so, with a bark that few road-going V8s can match.
Of course, you should be the final judge here. Take a look and a listen at the two videos below, one of which comes from our friends at Cars.com that provides a nice look under the hood, and then let us know what you think of the Hellcat's singing voice in Comments.
