1974 Dodge Dart Sport Coupe 2-door 3.7l on 2040-cars
Mariposa, California, United States
1974 Dodge Dart Sport driven daily. This car has the 225 CID Slant-6
with rare and desirable 2bbl Super-Six setup with a manual choke that works well. It runs strong and
smooth, 904 automatic transmission works well, shifts smoothly, no
problems. The car has power steering with manual 10" drum brakes all the
way around, and they stop the car fine. I have a JVC AM/FM/CD with
audio input jack stereo mounted below the dash, the original radio is
still in the dash. The heater and defrosters work fine. The 2 speed
wipers work like they should as well.
Interior is reasonably nice, upholstery is good, carpet is new, door panels in average condition, headliner fabric was coming off so I removed the fabric, but the original fiberboard headliner backing is still in place. All gauges work as they should. All the lights (including the instrument lights) work fine. The dash is in good shape, the dash pad is in good shape too. The body is probably average or better for its age - perhaps because it has been in California its whole life. There is however one small area of rust on the extreme bottom of the passenger side quarter panel behind the tire (see photo). As you can see in the pictures the car has small dings etc, and the paint (which is original) has faded away in some places to reveal metal. The floor pans, trunk floor, and frame rails are solid. Since this is a '74 model NO SMOG is required in CA. I have a clean title in my name. Car is currently registered and insured. I bought the car from the original owner some years ago. The following parts are new over the last year or so: passenger side mirror, master cylinder, battery, heater core, temperature sending unit, door window seals, fuel sending unit, fuel pump and hoses, carpet, and both fan and power steering belts. Car is daily driven, but I would recommend an alignment and new tires before too long, The tires do have great tread, but are probably fairly old. They are size P195/75R14 all season tires with original hub caps. This would make an awesome project for someone to make a V-8 muscle car out of, or continue to enjoy it as it is - it is up to you. Please ask me any questions you may have and I will do my best to accurately answer them. Though I have done my best to be complete and accurate in my description, the car is 40 years old and is being sold as is. Car is for sale locally also. I reserve the right to end the auction. Buyer is 100% responsible for pick-up, transportation, etc., of the vehicle., although I will work with your shipper if you are out of my area. Nonrefundable deposit of $500 via PayPal due within 24 hours of auction close. Balance may be paid via cash, certified check, or PayPal. |

2014 Dodge Dart Blacktop glosses over performance
Tue, 14 Jan 2014The Dodge Dart is a decent little car. It's honest, basic transportation, and many of us at Autoblog are genuinely fond of the Alfa Romeo-based compact sedan. For 2014, not a whole lot changes in the Dart world, save the addition of this new Blacktop edition that makes its debut here at the Detroit Auto Show.
It's all very simple, this Blacktop package, and doesn't actually alter performance in any way. Instead, buyers are treated to blacked-out exterior bits like 18-inch wheels, the crosshair grille and headlamp bezels. Inside, black/tungsten or black/red cloth seats are available, with red contrast stitching throughout the cabin.
Adding the Blacktop pack to your Dart SXT with the Rallye Appearance Group will set you back a scant $295, and while it's just an appearance package, it all looks pretty nice to us.
South Dakota dealer filled to brim with classic cars
Wed, 12 Mar 2014Other than the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Mount Rushmore, South Dakota isn't generally a hot topic, but that just means that cool stuff can hide in the open waiting to be discovered. Case in point: the classic car dealer Frankman Motor Company that operates three locations in Sioux Falls, SD.
Unearthed by the folks at Bring a Trailer, Frankman is a treasure trove of vintage, American iron. Their collection is full of the type of vehicles your irresponsible but cool uncle would show up with when you were a kid. Even better, these cars are priced at a level a working man can afford.
If you are lusting about a cruiser then Frankman has a 1956 Cadillac Deville Hard Top Sedan (pictured right) with 82,896 miles for $12,975. It's painted a color called Cascade Grey, but looks more like a pastel purple in pictures. While it needs some repairs to the accessories, the Caddy runs and drives, which is all you really need.
Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango to lose color options temporarily
Wed, 19 Nov 2014In the market for a Jeep Grand Cherokee or Dodge Durango? Well, if you fancy a more expressive color for your new SUV, you'd better get your order in, or plan on waiting until well into 2015.
The SUVs will be limited to just four monochromatic shades - black, white, silver and gray - until at least February, thanks to an upgrade to the paint shop at the two vehicles' Jefferson North factory. For the Grand Cherokee, that means it's losing more than half its color palette while the Durango is dropping two-thirds of its color catalog.
The loss of colors is inconvenient, but the upgrade will have a slightly bigger effect on the overall supply of SUVs, as Chrysler will need to end its relentless build pace at the factory for a three-week shutdown starting on December 22. The good news for fans of the SUVs is that once the work is completed, we should see a gradual expansion of the color palettes for both the Durango and Grand Cherokee, beyond even what's offered now.
