UP FOR AUCTION AND WITH NO RESERVE IS THIS COOL CAR. IT RUNS AND DRIVES, STOPS VERY NICELY, AND ALL OF THE INSTRUMENTATION WORKS FINE. IT JUST HAD NEW SHOCKS AND A NEW HEAD GASKET INSTALLED. THE INTERIOR NEEDS A NEW DASH PAD ($100) AND NEW CARPET. WITH THOSE TWO THINGS DONE, THE INTERIOR WOULD BE VERY NICE. THE ENGINE IS PRETTY CLEAN AND RUNS STRONG. YOU CAN DRIVE IT ALL OVER TOWN, IT DOESNT HEAT UP OR PING, IT JUST RUNS GOOD. THE TRANS SEEM SMOOTH, THE BRAKES ARE TIGHT AND THE STEERING IS PRETTY RESPONSIVE, CONSIDERING THIS IS A 50 YEAR OLD CAR. PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICTURES, THE BODY NEEDS SOME WORK, BUT IS GENERALLY ALL THERE AND PRETTY SOLID. IT LOOKS TO ME LIKE IT WAS NEVER REPAINTED, UNLESS THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB, BECAUSE THE JAMBS AND UNDER THE HOOD AND TRUNK SHOW NO PAINT SEAMING AND THE ORIGINAL PRIMER CAN BE SEEN THROUGH IN A FEW SPOTS. ONCE AGAIN, LOOK AT THE PHOTOS, I CAN TELL YOU HOW GREAT THIS CAR IS, BUT THE PICTURES TELL MORE OF THE STORY. REMEMBER, THIS CAR NEEDS WORK, BUT CAN BE DRIVEN WHILE THE WORK IS BEING DONE. THE REAR WINDOW IS FOGGY, I BELIEVE IT WAS REPLACED WITH PLEXY GLASS A LONG TIME AGO. NO RESERVE , THE HIGHEST BIDDER AT THE END OF THE AUCTION WILL OWN THIS CAR. 2014 Challenger R/T Shaker, Mopar '14 Challenger bring back iconic hood
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Enamored of the Dodge Challenger but wish you could get one with a shaker hood? We've got good news, because Dodge and Mopar have teamed up to bring it back.
The 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker packs the same 5.7-liter Hemi V8 as the standard Challenger R/T, but upgrades the business end with a through-the-hood exposed cold-air intake system. The retro hood scoop protrudes from the center of the hood in satin black (matching the decklid spoiler) to feed the Hemi and shakes with the engine just like the original from 1970. The Shaker model also comes with a Super Track Pak that adds a new steering rack, brake linings, shocks and 20-inch Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car rubber. You can also shut off the stability management system completely in this car. A series of interior and exterior trim enhancements round out the look. The whole package adds $2,500 to the price of a Challenger R/T Classic for an all-in MSRP of $36,995.
In case that's not enough, Dodge is also offering a limited-edition Mopar Challenger that follows the 2010 Mopar Challenger, 2011 Mopar Charger, 2012 Mopar 300 and 2013 Mopar Dart. Limited to just 100 examples, the 2014 Mopar Challenger gets the same Shaker hood intake, unique graphics and wheels, an enhanced interior and a long list of optional extras from the Mopar parts catalog. Dodge isn't saying just yet how much the Mopar Challenger will cost, but you can bet it will command a considerable premium for the exclusivity alone.
2014 Dodge Durango bows with eight-speed auto, updated looks [w/video]
Thu, 28 Mar 2013Dodge has significantly updated its full-size Durango for the 2014 model year, giving the seven-passenger hauler a fresh look and a well-rounded boost of competitive features as it enters its fourth year in the showroom.
Cosmetically, it is hard to miss the revised front end with projector-beam headlamps and LED daytime running lamps, "floating" crosshair grille, a taller front bumper and a new lower fascia. The rear end of the facelifted Durango has been redesigned with the automaker's now-signature LED "racetrack" taillamps and resculpted rear fascia. All of the wheels are new too, with 18- and 20-inch options for each trim level with a variety of factory finishes.
Inside the cabin, buyers can select the automaker's latest Uconnect infotainment system with a full suite of infotainment features and connectivity accessed through an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Other optional goodies include a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seating and a Blu-Ray player capable of running unique programs on the twin individual rear monitors.
Old vs. New: 2014 SRT Viper takes on upgraded 16-year-old Dodge Viper
Fri, 08 Feb 2013It's easy to play the "Would you rather have a New X or an Old Y with a bunch of upgrades?" game more often than we care to admit, but the crew at Car and Driver have taken bench racing to the next level with their latest video. In it, the magazine pits a brand-new 2014 SRT Viper against a highly modified 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. There are 16 years between the time this particular GTS rolled off the production line and when the new car bowed, but that doesn't mean the old snake's owners have been sitting on their hands.
Thanks to a spate of modifications, the GTS offers up a better power to weight ratio than the new machine, but is that enough to overcome the technological leap forward represented by the 2014 Viper? We won't spoil it for you. You'll just have to check out the full clip below for yourself.
