This is the top of the line Grand Caravan. Has all the bells and whistles, including the very cool Autostick transmission that turns your automatic transmission into a manual. Works great for engine braking in the mountains or moving heavy loads. As far as I can tell it has every option available for purchase when it was new except for the towing package and a sunroof. Runs and drives great. Clean title and current tags. Cold AC. 154,000 miles.

Options equipped (and they all work):

Autostick Transmission
Traction Control
Privacy Glass
Power Windows
Power Locks
Power Mirrors
Power Rear Windows
Dual Power Seats
Dual Heated Seats
Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror
Rear Heat and Air
Premium Alloy Wheels

Factory Security System
.... Probably more I'm forgetting but you get the idea. It's loaded.

Van shows it's age a little but as you can see from the pictures it's in pretty good condition. Some wear on the seats and carpets but no major flaws and no more wear than most cars I see that are five years newer than this one. Mechanically VERY solid. No leaks, uses no oil, doesn't lose any fluid at all.

The cons:

Tires are good, but worn. These have miles left on them, but someone may want to replace them.

Front struts could stand to be replaced. Ride quality is good, but on a really bumpy stretch of road they rattle a little (common in Caravans).

Speedometer and Tachometer are not working. I've changed the instrument cluster, the Vehicle Speed Sensor, and Body Control Module. Further diagnosis will require a scan machine at a dealership and they quoted me a range of $100 - $500 to fix depending on what needs fixing.

Some minor dings and scratches here and there, with one larger dent above the front right wheel (about a 4" wide dent).

Kelley Blue Book says with all the options on it it's worth $4200 private party in good condition with a loan value of $6,000. Given the few things it needs and allowing the full $500 estimate on the high end for the dealership to fix the speedometer (which I don't think it will actually cost) I'm asking $3200 or best offer. That said, I do need to sell it pretty quickly so make me an offer I can't refuse. You'd have a hard time finding a nicer one than this from this year on the road. Can email more pictures on request.

Dodge Challenger Scat Pack adds power and noise, with a warranty

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

If you want to go fast, there's certainly nothing wrong with the Dodge Challenger SRT8. With 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque for 2014, there's certainly not much to complain about. But what if you want something more aftermarket in flavor? There's no shortage of options, but while turning to the tuner world will make your car plenty fast, that extra power won't just shred rear tires, it'll torch your warranty, as well. That's where Dodge's Scat Pack comes in.
With three stages of mods for both the 5.7 and 6.4-liter Hemi V8s Challenger (as well as the 5.7-liter Charger and, soon, the four-pot Dart), the Scat Pack cars give drivers all the power, aggression and noise of a heavily modded aftermarket car while maintaining the piece of mind provided by the Dodge warranty.
Power gets bumped up to 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque with the 6.4-liter Scat Pack, while the 5.7-liter can provide up to 58 hp and 47 lb-ft of torque to add to the stock engine's 375 horsepower and 410 pound-feet. It's the latter engine that can really get some work done, with upgrades ranging from the mundane - intake and exhaust - to the racy, like the ported heads and high-flow headers.

NHTSA investigating Ram 1500 models for rear differential failure

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and its Ram brand following a number of reports regarding the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. According to 15 consumer complaints, the trucks' rear differential locked up while in other cases, the driveshaft separated at its connection to the diff.
Nearly half of the reports claim the truck was traveling at or above 50 miles per hour, while two consumers reported that the diff lockup/driveshaft separation sent their pickups into a spin. Most troubling, though, is that consumers reported little to no sound indicating there was a problem with their truck.
We reached out to Ram for additional information, such as how many vehicles may be affected or what equipment might be fitted that could cause the issue. Unfortunately, the company wasn't willing to elaborate on specifics.

Aficionauto drives Vin Diesel's fast and furious 1970 Dodge Charger

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

The Aficionauto host Christopher Rutkowski has a real passion for original and replica cars from movies and television, whether they are from James Bond, Jurassic Park, or incredibly obscure Japanese shows. However, he might have outdone himself this time because he hopped into one of the biggest automotive stars of contemporary cinema. This 1970 Dodge Charger appeared in Fast & Furious and came back in Fast Five, where Paul Walker actually drove it. The menacing, black muscle car will make its return to the franchise in the seventh film, too.
The Fast and Furious Charger is a real beast no matter how you look at it. The interior is nothing more than two seats and a roll cage, and as the video shows, this thing vibrates constantly like a coiled mass of muscle ready to strike. The camera can barely stay in place most of the time. Also, Dom's Dodge is more than happy to do a smoky burnout and leave the driver partially deaf afterward from its wonderful, ear-splitting engine roar.
The Aficionauto also interviews the man who controls the keys to this beast. Bob Hartwig was once an F-15 pilot, but he also loved Hollywood vehicles. Now, he's a partner at Picture Car Warehouse, a company with about 850 cars that supplies vehicles to film studios. This Charger definitely seems to be Hartwig's favorite in the collection, as it should be.
