For sale:  2006 Dodge Grand Caravan.  106,000 miles.  Mini-van is in very good condition.  The engine pulls strong and the transmission shifts on a dime.  Great family hauler.  Seats 7 adults comfortably.  Stow and go seating.

The vehicle has many new parts including all 4 tires, water pump, and battery. Oil is changed religiously every 3,500 miles.  I do not skimp on maintenance, as this is our family vehicle.

Manual window cranks and door locks.  The front bumper was replaced and repainted in April because my wife tore off the bottom grill by gallivanting through the snow mounds this past winter.

A few other issues to be aware of: (and please bid accordingly)

a) there is a small coolant leak by the intake manifold.  I simply top off the coolant every week.  It loses maybe half a cup of coolant every two weeks.
b) the AC does not blow cold.  I think there is a leak somewhere along the line.
c) the middle-row seat on the passenger side does not go down.  I think the pulley needs to be re-set.  I do not worry about it as the seat is used with a baby-seat.
d) I recently broke the latch to the middle-row driver's side stow and go lid.  I just use a flat-head screw driver if I need to open the lid.
e) there are some bumps and scratches on the exterior of the vehicle as would be indicative of an 8 year old car.

Otherwise, the minivan is in very good condition and should last the owner a very long time.   Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.  There is no reserve to the auction and the winning bidder is legally bound to complete the transaction.

2014 Dodge Dart Blacktop hits the pavement ahead of Detroit

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

Dodge is getting ready to spread the Blacktop-themed love to the smallest member of its lineup. Last year, the automaker offered up Blacktop versions of the Avenger, Challenger, Charger, Durango, Grand Caravan and Journey. And now the Dart, too, gets its dark on for 2014, with the $295 package offered on Dart SXT models equipped with the Rallye Appearance Group. The Dart Blacktop will make its debut at the Detroit Auto Show next week.
As with the other Blacktop special-edition models, the Dart Blacktop gets glossy black accents for a "sporty, sinister look." The blacked-out treatment spreads across the 18-inch wheels to the crosshair grille, grille surround and headlamp bezels. The interior sees a similar treatment, with black and light tungsten or black and ruby red cloth to go with red accent stitching on the instrument panel, center console and seat bolsters.
For the 2014 model year, all Dart SXT and Limited models receive the 2.4-liter MultiAir2 Tigershark engine with 184 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque, and since the Blacktop is based on the SXT, that's the powerplant buyers of this special-edition will get, too. Expect the 2014 Dart Blacktop to hit dealers in the first quarter, and while you're waiting, feel free to read more in the official press release below.

2013 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee

Tue, 12 Mar 2013

I can pinpoint the exact moment when I fell in love with this car. It was starting down a nearly straight entrance ramp at 15 miles per hour when I buried the throttle. In a moment, I was thrown back into my seat as the big SRT8's engine came to life with commensurate sound, fury and force, bringing me up to 75 mph in what felt like two blinks of an eye. This thing feels so much quicker than its 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque would lead you to believe. And mashing the right pedal never, ever gets old.
But beyond sheer speed, I found a whole lot to like about the Charger SRT8 during my week with the Pitch Black test car here in Detroit. And while the whole Super Bee kit isn't really my style, it's really easy to overlook those badges for a package that offers so much for so little.

Chrysler to accelerate production of 2013 Ram and V6 engines

Fri, 16 Nov 2012

Chrysler is adding a third shift at its Warren Truck plant to meet demand for the new 2013 Ram pickup. And with tight supplies of its Pentastar V6, the company is also boosting output at its Mack Engine plant.
The expansions will add 1,250 jobs and are part of a $238 million investment by Chrysler in the Detroit area. Warren's third shift will begin work sometime in the spring, a Chrysler rep told Automotive News. Mack's increased Pentastar production a could include both 3.6 and 3.2-liter engines.
The company says it also plans to invest $40 million in its Trenton Engine plant to allow for production of a 3.2-liter V6 as well as the Tigershark inline-four for the upcoming Jeep Liberty replacement.
