2003 Dodge Intrepid Sxt Sedan 4-door 3.5l on 2040-cars
Kellogg, Iowa, United States
2003 Dodge Intrepid SXT. 3.5 liter V6. Silver with rear spoiler and sliding sun roof. Gray cloth interior. 6 disc CD changer. Power locks/windows/seats. 130k. 1 pair of new tires in Dec 2011 (112k mileage) and the other pair replaced in June 2012 (119k mileage). Oil change every 3k miles. New tie rods in August 2013. Replaced upper radiator hose in Nov 2012. I am 2nd owner. Purchased car in summer of 2010 and it had 63k miles on it. All of the miles I have put on it are highway miles (used car as winter/work car).
Has following issues: driver's side door will not unlock w/ door switch or key fob. All other doors unlock. Side mirror controller does not work. A/C does not work (did not work when I bought car--heater works great!) Check engine light comes on from time to time (has done this since I bought car) and may stay on for weeks or just days then will go off for a while. I have had this checked numerous times and nothing ever comes back wrong....just faulty sensor/light. Starting to rust above rear back tire. Has a few scratches/chips/dents. Defrost vent on passenger side has been busted (was like this when bought car). Missing "N" in "INTREPID" on trunk. Transmission eventually needs replaced; or can be replaced right now. Sometimes (not all the time) when you go to slow down (like to turn off highway onto different road) it seems to kick out of gear and then will not shift when you go to pick up speed (RPMs just go higher). If you turn car off and restart then the issue stops. I have had this looked at by a transmission repair shop and they informed me that I need a new transmission but the one in it right now can be rebuilt. I was quoted $1800+ tax and I just don't want to pay that right now which is why I am selling car as is. Other than this "major" issue the car has been absolutely wonderful and has always ran perfectly and has been very reliable. (The computer code that the shop found is P1776 for solenoid switch stuck in low reverse. Performed pressure test, pressure ok. When trans pan was removed metal was found in pan. Internal trans concern.) |

Watch 1,414-hp worth of Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat do stereo burnouts
Tue, 08 Jul 2014When Dodge announced that the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat would produce 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque from its supercharged 6.2-liter V8, automotive enthusiasts were shocked. The company had promised us that it would be powerful, but no one expected for the muscle car to post even larger numbers than the range-topping Viper.
Car and Driver recently got ahold of two new SRTs and decided that the only proper way to show them off was by lighting up the rears in stereo. With a combined 1,414 horsepower, the pair of them make burnouts from the Hellcat V8 look as easy as breathing. The tires start spinning at the slightest provocation and just don't stop. If you buy one of these, it looks like you and the employees at the local tire store are going to be on a first name basis.
Scroll down to watch these two Hellcats to lay down enough smoke to alert the local hook and ladder trucks.
2013 Dodge Dart GT offers subtle menace in compact form
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Dodge has already shared all of the relevant information about its all-new 2013 Dart GT, but it wasn't until now that we've seen the car, live and in person. The slightly meaner front fascia and bigger wheels look great on the Dodge, and the red-on-black perforated seats are sporting in an aftermarket sort of way.
To recap: The Dart GT also gets a bit more power, using a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine to make 184 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. A starting price of $20,995 will get you LED taillights, dual exhaust, an 8.4-inch touchscreen and a 7.0-inch TFT display.
Feel free to re-acquaint yourselves with the full Dodge Dart GT information in the press release below, or have a leisurely browse through our gallery of live images.
South Dakota dealer filled to brim with classic cars
Wed, 12 Mar 2014Other than the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Mount Rushmore, South Dakota isn't generally a hot topic, but that just means that cool stuff can hide in the open waiting to be discovered. Case in point: the classic car dealer Frankman Motor Company that operates three locations in Sioux Falls, SD.
Unearthed by the folks at Bring a Trailer, Frankman is a treasure trove of vintage, American iron. Their collection is full of the type of vehicles your irresponsible but cool uncle would show up with when you were a kid. Even better, these cars are priced at a level a working man can afford.
If you are lusting about a cruiser then Frankman has a 1956 Cadillac Deville Hard Top Sedan (pictured right) with 82,896 miles for $12,975. It's painted a color called Cascade Grey, but looks more like a pastel purple in pictures. While it needs some repairs to the accessories, the Caddy runs and drives, which is all you really need.
