1957 Custom Royal Lancer on 2040-cars
Avondale, Pennsylvania, United States
I'm selling my Swept Wing 1957 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer Sedan that is
numbers matching and mostly all original. This is a nice cruiser to
drive around and have a good time. Its not a trailer queen and far from a
show car, but a nice honest driver to enjoy and do local cruises. The
car is powered by a 325 Red Ram engine and a three speed push button
Torque Flight Automatic Transmission. I picked this car up over a year
ago and did all the mechanicals to make it road worthy / safe. The
engine was pulled out and a mild rebuild / overhaul was conducted and I
installed new rings, bearings, timing gear set and all new gaskets. At
the time a complete tune up, rebuilt of the carburetor, starter,
generator and Power Booster were done. The Push Button transmission was
also removed and serviced, flushing it thoroughly and new seals and
filter installed. The Rear Differential was flushed and new fluid was
added. I installed a new gas tank, along with sending unit, fuel pump
and new 3/8 aluminum fuel line. The entire braking system was also
rebuilt, replace all wheel cylinders, brake shoes, Master Cylinder,
rebuilt the brake booster and replaced every brake line on car for
safety. The custom 2" exhaust (true dual exhaust) were professionally
made from the front original exhaust manifolds to the original exhaust
tips. The mufflers are manufactured by Dynomax and everything is welded
together for a non leaking exhaust system. The car runs great and is
dependable and has no known mechanical issues. There are also no fluid
leaks what so ever throughout the vehicle. I also just installed new
front and rear shocks, new Kenwood stereo and speakers. I have all
receipts to verify the aforementioned information listed. The car still
retains the factory am radio in the dash and it works but needs the dash
speaker replaced. The tires are new and were replaced with vintage
style Coker Classic bias tires for that original appearance. The car has
power steering and drives straight down the road. Car has new carpeting
and floor mats, NOS taillights along with many other items / parts
throughout the car and I have touched upon most of them. This car is
currently Pennsylvania registered and can be driven anywhere without any
problems and the Pa plate is transferable if the winning bidder is a Pa
resident and wants the plate. The car is driven daily and is trouble
free. I'm selling this car to help fund my restoration of my other car, which is a 1959 Dodge
Lancer. The vehicle is being sold with no warranty and none has been
expressed or implied. A non refundable $500.00 deposit is required at
the end of the auction and the remaining balance is due at the time of
taking possession of the car. The high bidder / winner of this auction is
responsible for any and all shipping fees. Inspection of the car is
available and encouraged prior to the auction ending and is required for
better communications. Any questions please contact me through Ebay or
cell (302) 420-6647 Joe.

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat's 707 storming horses can be yours for $60k
Wed, 16 Jul 2014We love a good deal on high performance. It's what traditionally makes muscle cars so appealing - you get lots of speed, for not a lot of money. For 2015, Dodge has taken this to its logical extreme, offering its new 707-horsepower, supercharged, V8-powered Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat for just $59,900. For those wondering, that works out to just about $85 per horsepower, which when compared with a typical budget performance car, like the $24,995, 210-hp Volkswagen GTI ($119 per hp), demonstrates the Hellcat's astonishing value.
The information was revealed by a photo (click on the inset image to expand) taken at this week's Portland launch event (our man Seyth Miersma is just now on the ground and will have a full report on the madness that is the Hellcat soon) for the entire 2015 Challenger range, and reveals the Hellcat's price alongside its high-powered competitors from Ford and Chevrolet.
The discontinued 662-hp Mustang GT500 started at $56,000, while the 580-hp Camaro ZL1 starts off at $58K. Indeed, the only muscle car that outprices the Hellcat is the track-focused Camaro Z/28, a car that we're guessing could still wallop the Hellcat on the right piece of track, despite being down over 200 hp.
Chrysler slows minivan production, hasn't built VW Routan this year
Wed, 13 Mar 2013Chrysler has slowed production of its Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans this week, Automotive News reports. The Windsor, Ontario plant will cut its three shifts from eight hours each to four hours each in an effort "to align production with market demand," a Chrysler spokesperson told AN. Chrysler also builds the closely related Routan minivan for Volkswagen at its Ontario facility, but has not built a single example thus far in 2013.
Sales of Chrysler's minivans fell 15 percent for the first two months of 2013, and a large part of that has to do with the 26-percent drop of the Grand Caravan alone (the T&C was only down by one percent). According to Automotive News data, as of March 1, Chrysler had an unsold inventory of 24,713 Town and Country models and 18,547 Grand Caravans - a 69- and 43-day supply, respectively.
"No sense running full speed now, then have a lot of vehicles sitting around a few months down the line," Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson told AN. Full production is expected to resume again on March 18.
2015 Dodge Viper getting small increase in power
Tue, 29 Jul 2014The Viper is used to being the most powerful car in the Dodge and SRT stables, but the arrival of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat means that's no longer the case. The serpentine supercar is, however, reportedly getting a small boost in output for 2015, amounting to all of five horsepower.
The increase was uncovered by Road & Track courtesy of the SAE J1349 certification process to which Detroit's Big Three automakers submit themselves and which reports the Viper's output at 645 hp instead of the 640 it was rated at until now. There are a hundred factors that could have contributed to the relatively mild boost in output (best guess? nothing at all changed...), but we doubt anyone's going to complain about some extra horses under the hood.
The five-horsepower boost brings the Viper that much closer to the 650-hp Chevy Corvette Z06, not to mention the 707-hp Hellcat, but the Viper's impressive power-to-weight ratio ought to mean it'll have little problem keeping up in a straight line - which is just one of the reasons why Chrysler won't shoe-horn the Hellcat into the Viper: as R&T points out, the supercharged engine is too heavy and the blower makes it too tall to fit in the Viper's engine bay.
