1973 D200 Crew Cab. I bought this from a mechanic who did some work on the truck for the original owner. The story is that the truck had sat awhile and the original owner was getting up in years and wanted to ride again before he passed. A four barrel carb and intake was added along with some work on the air conditioner and a tune-up. After the original owners passing the truck was offered to the mechanic. He drove it back and forth to work a few times and then sold it to me. I drove it 120 miles home. The truck runs and drives excellent and the transmission shifts great. I did a complete brake job on it. Rotors and drums turned, all rubber lines replaced, all metal lines blown clear, master cylinder rebuilt, wheel cylinders rebuilt, calipers rebuilt with new 3 1/8" pistons, bearings repacked, new wheel seals front and rear, new disc pads and new 3" wide shoes on the rear. The brakes are right and stops this truck in a hurry. I also washed the rear axles, gears and housing free of the old grease, put new axle and pan gaskets on and topped it off with fresh 90 weight. I had pictures of all this work but they were lost in a computer crash. This truck has the original paint. There is rust over rear wheelwells and driver side lower front fender. Some rust in driver side rocker panel on the top front. Some patch work on the driver floor pan. The truck body is straight except for a good sized dent on the driver side bed. Looking down the passenger side the body is near perfect. The tailgate is rough but functional. The interior is very nice. The original owner kept blankets on the seats. The horn button was missing. I found a black one to replace it. The tires are excellent. I had the wheels balanced and the ride is smooth. If you have any questions please ask. No shipping on this vehicle. $500 non refundable paypal deposit and the balance in cashier or certified check at pickup. Thank you.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat with '600-plus horsepower' officially unveiled [w/video]

Tue, 20 May 2014

Dodge has officially unveiled the most powerful vehicle to ever wear the Challenger name - the SRT Hellcat - complete with over 600 horsepower courtesy of a supercharged, 6.2-liter Hemi V8. It will be offered alongside the 485-hp Challenger SRT.
The new, force-induced V8 isn't just the most powerful ever fitted to the Challenger, it's the most powerful eight-cylinder Chrysler Group has ever built. Power figures aren't finalized, so expect to see "over 600 hp" bandied about quite a lot. That fury will be channeled through either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic. Yes, over 600 ponies through an eight-speed auto. So far, the only vehicle we know of that delivers more output through that many gears is the as-yet untested Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Sadly, we don't have performance metrics just yet, although if this thing can't crack four seconds to 60 miles per hour, we'll be pretty surprised.
As is the theme nowadays, the 2015 Challenger SRT features a number of driving modes, governing power output, shift speeds for the 8AT, steering effort, traction control settings and suspension settings. There are three pre-programmed options - Default, Sport and Track - and a Custom mode that allows drivers to mix and match to their heart's content.

Watch this Dodge Viper get clawed to death

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

There's a scene in the James Bond movie, Casino Royale, where Daniel Craig's Agent 007 is captured by villain Le Chiffre, played by Mads Mikkelsen. Le Chiffre tortures Bond in a scene that is rather difficult to watch (especially for blokes) and impossible to describe on these digital pages (Google at your own risk). This video is the automotive equivalent of the Casino Royale torture scene.
It shows a Dodge Viper - a late, first-generation GTS judging by the center-exit exhausts - getting assaulted by a giant piece of heavy equipment. The large claw shows no mercy on the V10-powered sports car, rending its muscular curves into pieces and then running it over, just for good measure. It's a painful video to watch (and hear!), made worse because we don't know what the Viper did to deserve such a fate. About a third of the way through the video, the cameraman indicates that the man with the claw is a new operator from Chrysler, and it appears there may be some fire damage, but beyond that, we don't have much to go on.
Scroll down for the video but be warned, it isn't for the faint of heart.

NHTSA investigating Ram 1500 models for rear differential failure

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and its Ram brand following a number of reports regarding the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. According to 15 consumer complaints, the trucks' rear differential locked up while in other cases, the driveshaft separated at its connection to the diff.
Nearly half of the reports claim the truck was traveling at or above 50 miles per hour, while two consumers reported that the diff lockup/driveshaft separation sent their pickups into a spin. Most troubling, though, is that consumers reported little to no sound indicating there was a problem with their truck.
We reached out to Ram for additional information, such as how many vehicles may be affected or what equipment might be fitted that could cause the issue. Unfortunately, the company wasn't willing to elaborate on specifics.
