Excellent Dodge RAM 1500 4x4 For Sale!

This is a great truck and I am reluctantly selling it as I have to fly home to England. The truck was bought in Denver, Colorado and driven back to California. I love this truck and am very sad to have to be selling it.

The truck looks awesome with custom wheels and truck bed tool box. The stereo has also been changed for a much better Kenwood CD player.

There was no spare wheel when I bought the truck so I have bought a brand new spare rim with new tire. I also bought the matching wheel nut key, scissor jack and tyre iron. The current tyres on the truck have plenty of tread.

The engine and all mechanicals are in good condition and working well. The truck made the long trip from Colorado without any problems at all. The only small issue is the engine management light is lit on the dash. I have had a mechanic look over it and he informs me that it is most likely due to a small leak in the EVAP leak detection pump. This has no adverse effects on the running of the truck and he quoted $125 (labour included) to fix it. This engine warning light has been on since I bought the truck and she's still running sweet.

The 4x4 works perfectly.

A/C is ice cold.

Other points to mention are a slight area of damage to the paintwork on the drivers side (not rusting) and also the wind shield is cracked. The tool box is in great condition but unfortunately only one side is unlocked and the keys were not sold with the truck when I bought it. The whole box can be accessed from the once side.

These are all small issues and easily fixed, I would have done them but I did not have time.

Due to my schedule and my upcoming flights, viewing and collection MUST be between the 5th-7th September and cash on collection is preferred. I have the Title document in hand and the truck is clean and I paid for it in full.

This is an amazing chance to grab a brilliant truck at a good price.

Please don't hesitate to call and ask any questions. Call Tom on 303-881-5884 any time.

Top torque-to-weight ratios under $100k, $50k and $25k

Tue, 07 Oct 2014

Horsepower may steal a lot of headlines, but the always-more-complex torque figure is often a critical one for both the workingman and the motoring playboy. The measure of rotational force represents the twist that can liquefy one's tires or haul one's horse trailer. Good stuff.
It follows then, that as with the horsepower-to-weight list that we assembled for you a few months ago, a list of cars that offer the most pound-feet with the fewest pounds to carry, is an interesting one to break down. Sure, there's a big difference in how the torque is applied from a turbocharged six-cylinder in a Swedish luxury sedan and a massive heavy-duty truck's turbo-diesel. But being the car/stat geeks that we are, we think it's kinda neat that those two vehicles rank near each other where torque and weight intersect.
As with the horsepower list, we've given you figures as pounds per every one pound-foot. Again broken down into broad price categories, we've got a mixed bag of 2014 and 2015 models here, too. Every effort has been made to select the most up-to-date prices and specs, and we've also to omitted some '14 cars that won't be re-upped after the ongoing yearly changeover.

What's the deal with Chrysler demanding colleges crush their Vipers? [w/video]

Fri, 07 Mar 2014

Students and teachers at a Washington community college are up in arms following an order from Chrysler that it must destroy the pre-production Dodge Viper that was donated to the school's automotive technology program ten years ago.
The Viper in question is said to be the fourth off the production line, based on its VIN, and has had its emissions controls disabled, allowing its ten-cylinder engine to produce 600 horsepower, according to a report from Yahoo! Autos. As one of the first Vipers ever produced, the school's AT instructors claim it could be worth $250,000 in a museum, while a local news report purports that Jay Leno once tried to purchase the car, but the sale was prevented by Chrysler.
As pointed out by our friends at Autobytel, though, there are a lot of things in this story that don't quite add up. Immediately noticeable from the news report embedded below - which shows the car at South Puget Sound Community College - is that the car in question is not a 1992 model. When the Viper went on sale in 1992, it was only available as an RT/10 with a (flimsy) soft top, like the red car shown above. But the car featured in the report from KING5 News (inset image) is clearly a hardtop Viper GTS, which didn't enter production until 1996. And even if, as reported by a local newspaper, the hardtop featured is a prototype, it doesn't explain the lack of another iconic feature of the first Vipers - their distinctive side pipes. This kind of pokes holes in the school's argument that this is the fourth Viper to ever roll down the line. At best, this appears to be a pre-production Viper GTS.

Chrysler recalls 350k vehicles over ignition switches

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

Chrysler has announced a recall covering 349,442 vehicles due to ignition switches that can either become stuck or move without warning. All of the affected vehicles are from the 2008 model year, and were built before May 12, 2008.
The automaker has learned that ignition keys on some vehicles "may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position during engine-startup," the company said in a statement. Additionally, "an ignition key may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position and may inadvertently move through the 'ON' position to 'ACCESSORY' or 'OFF.'"
Chrysler says it is unaware of any related injuries, and notes that while reduced braking, engine or steering power is possible in such instances, the airbags are not affected. The later stands in contrast to General Motors' recent rash of high-profile recalls, and it's an important distinction that Chrysler (understandably) felt necessary to call out in bold print in its press release.
