Selling my 1995 Dodge 2500.  I have owned the truck for a couple of years and have used it as a weekend projects truck.  I purchased the truck from the prior owner's mechanic who maintained the truck during its service as a used tire hauler.   The truck was owned by a local tire shop owner who hauled used tires to California's tire recycling facilities (still has used tire sticker in windshield).  I am selling the truck in order to cut down on the number of vehicles I have to insure and register!  Truck runs great, has great compression, no blow-by, does not burn oil, and gets 23 mpg around town!  Transmission shifts well and OD can be turned on/off via dash button.   The Tommy Lift works great.  I have used it to lift engines, crates, axle assemblies, etc.  Paint is good for a 1990's era Dodge, but has some of the trademark paint chips.  The top, rear of the cab is the worst.  I have repaired the front driver fender where the prior owner hit something.  I have a new turn signal on order and will have it installed prior to selling truck.  The rear driver side bed behind rear tire is dinged, but absolutely repairable.  This truck is driven 2-3 times per week, but needs a little attention.  The front brake pads are good, but rotors are a bit warped and the the power steering lines leak slightly, but I would not hesitate to drive this truck anywhere if those issues were dealt with.  Interior is typical 90's Dodge as well, with the front driver side bench needing attention (seat cover ripped and padding in need of help) and the dash top is cracked severely.  Hard-surface snap over covers are available on e-Bay, I just never got around to purchasing.  I will help load the truck if it needs to be shipped.  Shipping is completely up to the purchaser to arrange and pay for.

Chrysler readying Hellcat V8 with Viper-like power

Tue, 21 May 2013

A monstrous supercharged V8 engine could be in store for Chrysler and SRT products, if recent rumors are to be believed. Allpar is reporting that the forced-induction V8 - Chrysler's first, if this goes down - could make its debut this summer.
The story goes that the Hellcat would be based on a 6.2-liter Hemi engine, rather than on the existing 5.7- or 6.4-liter versions of the company's vaunted mill. In any case, the general consensus is that the motor will have gobs of power. Modest estimates call for between 500 to 570 horsepower, with some outliers predicting a figure as high as 600 hp. That figure would put the output would place the Hellcat awfully close to that of the 640-hp V10 in the SRT Viper, too. Allpar contends that a slightly lower powered version would allow Chrysler to keep costs below that of the more powerful Ford Shelby GT500, which might be a sweet spot.
The Hellcat could debut in a number of SRT products. SRT versions of the Charger, Challenger and 300 are all up for grabs, as is the rumored SRT Barracuda.

2013 Dodge Dart gets all Moparized

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

Last year, Chrysler announced it would be offering more than 150 Mopar parts and accessories on the 2013 Dodge Dart, and we got a look at some of these parts firsthand at the Chicago Auto Show. Showing off all the optional parts at once would surely create a gaudy monstrosity, so Chrysler chose to equip this particular Dart GT with just a handful of Mopar goodies, which still gave the car a nice and tasteful custom look that is available straight from the dealership (and with a full warranty, too).
Decked out in a factory color called Header Orange Clear Coat - also a very appropriate show car hue - this car added exterior styling parts such as the vented, carbon fiber hood, the bolt-on front chin spoiler and a matte black decklid spoiler. Looking inside the car, you'd think the red-accented interior is part of the Mopar parts bin, too, but this is actually what the standard Dart GT cabin will look like when it goes on sale.

Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.
