2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab With Cummins Diesel - Extreme 4x4 - Loads Of Extras on 2040-cars
Athol, Idaho, United States
This truck is my baby, but my needs have changed and it is time to part ways. Whether you want a very robust off-road vehicle or you are concerned about the end of the world and a zombie apocalypse, this is the truck for you. It is unstoppable. In fact, it is the ultimate Dodge for off-road enthusiasts. It is engineered to be unstoppable and has only been off road a few times. Utilizing the in-bed fuel tank and over 100 gallons of fuel capacity, I have driven this truck over 2000
miles without refueling (it gets about 20-25 MPG). Also, according to Banks, it
puts out just under 500HP and 900 Torque when the Power PDA is cranked
up to max setting (SL). For best fuel mileage and to reduce wear and tear, I keep it tuned down to
setting of 4 and it gets 20 - 25 MPG.
I have spent way too much money on enhancing this truck and it includes: KluneV underdrive provides amazing low range if engaged; Banks Big Hoss kit & Power PDA; Numerous components from ATS (heavy duty stage 6 transmission with billet input and output shafts, Co-Pilot transmission controller, exhaust brake, extra large differential cover, secondary transmission cooler); Road Armor front and rear bumpers with Warn winches (16.5Ti front, 8000 rear); Transferflow 70 gal in bed tank; Limited slip rear end; 4.10 gears conversion; 295 70R 17 Toyo Mud Terrain tires on custom rims (half tread left); Full extra set of new 295 70R 17 Toyo Mud Terrain tires on stock rims; 2 additional mounted spare tires (Nitto Terra Grappler 305 70R 17); Firestone air bags in rear suspension with compressor; 4 channel camera system; custom leather interior; Cowl induction hood; Ravelco anti-theft system; Pullrite Super slide 5th wheel hitch; headache rack on rear window; 5th wheel tailgate; stock tailgate |

2014 Dodge Durango leaks ahead of NY rollout
Wed, 27 Mar 2013Even though Chrysler will reportedly discontinue the Dodge Durango after the current model's lifespan - said to be around 2016 - that isn't stopping the automaker from improving its full-size, three-row SUV. The vehicle won't debut at the New York Auto Show until tomorrow, but images are already leaking out ahead of the embargo lift, and they show that the 2014 model is getting even more aggressive styling to go with more technology inside and out.
Dodge limited its early press shots of the new Durango to just the R/T trim level, but this new look adds a meaner look to this model with more dramatic projector-beam headlights along with a "floating" crosshair grille and a restyled fascia. At the rear of the Durango, LED racetrack taillights show a family resemblance to the Charger and Dart, while a new rear fascia adds to the styling while also allowing for an integrated trailer hitch.
On the tech side, the instrument panel looks to have been redesigned to include a standard seven-inch thin-film transistor (TFT) gauge cluster, and it also appears as if Chrysler's well-liked UConnect system has been updated with the 8.4-inch touchscreen found in other Chrysler vehicles. The 2013 model's conventional console shifter has been replaced by a rotary knob for gear selection, suggesting that there are transmission changes afoot as well. We'll have more details when the silks slide off this big boy tomorrow, so stay tuned.
Dodge offering novel 1-year lease on '14 Challenger and Charger models
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Dodge is just days away from unveiling refreshed versions of the Charger and Challenger at the 2014 New York Auto Show, models promising updated styling and new powertrain options. Depending on how you look at it, the company is either so confident in its forthcoming 2015 models that it's offering an interesting Double-Up lease deal on the current vehicles, or it's so eager to clear out existing stock that it's resorting to novel lease deals. In any case, what they present is an interesting scenario, one which allows buyers to get the existing model right now, and then trade up to the facelifted 2015 models in one year.
Starting April 17, when the refreshed cars debut through the end of August, buyers can lease a 2014 Charger or Challenger for one year and exchange it for a three-year lease on a 2015 model next year, with no additional money down and the same monthly payment. Customers can even switch vehicles when the new lease starts. If drivers want to buy the '15, they get $1,000 off the purchase price. To be eligible, both leases must use the same dealership and be financed through Chrysler Capital. The Double-Up deal excludes the SRT versions of both cars and Charger SE models.
To offset the flood of one-year-old models coming back to dealerships, Dodge has struck a deal with rental car agency Enterprise, which has agreed to buy them all. "One-year leases are highly unusual in the industry," said company spokesperson Ralph Kisiel, and the fleet sale deal is what makes it possible.
Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner
Sat, 24 Aug 2013For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
