THIS IS A HARD TO FIND SECOND OWNER 97 DODGE DUALLY 4X4 CUMMINS DIESEL WITH THE EXTENDED CAB. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE FOR THE WELL SOUGHT AFTER 12 VALVE MOTOR. (500 THOUSAND MILE MACHINES!!!!) WE PURCHASED THIS TRUCK ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO.
IT WAS SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF IOWA ON A FARM HELD UP IN AN ESTATE. THE TRUCK WAS PARKED FOR 5 YEARS BECAUSE OF THE ARGUMENTS THROUGH THE ESTATE.
WE BROUGHT THE TRUCK HOME CHANGED ALL OF THE FLUIDS. INSPECTED EVERYTHING ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THIS TRUCK IS ABSOLUTELY BONE STOCK!! UNMOLESTED!! NO FUEL PLATE, NO BIG INJECTORS, JUST AS IT CAME FROM DODGE IN 97!! IT REALLY WAS AN OLD MANS FARM TRUCK.
WE HAVE A PART TIME BUSINESS UTILIZING DUMP TRAILERS AS RUBBER TIRED DUMPSTERS. THE 4 TRAILERS ARE MOBILIZED BY THIS MACHINE. WE HAVE CAME TO A POINT THAT WE ARE GOING TO DOWNSIZE. LIFE IS JUST TOO SHORT TO WORK ALL OF THE TIME. WE HAVE TWO ONE TON DIESELS ONE IS GOING. LOOK FOR THREE DUMP TRAILERS ON EBAY SOON ALSO.
THE STARTER, ALTERNATOR, TENSION PULLEY, AND SERPENTINE BELT ARE ALL 10 MONTHS OLD (747 DOLLARS). THE BRAKES WERE DONE IN JUNE 2012 (545 DOLLARS). THE TRUCK RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT. STRAIGHT DOWN THE ROAD. THE TRUCK WAS INSPECTED IN OCTOBER 2012 AND THEY DID SAY IT WAS NEARING AN ADJUSTMENT ON THE STEERING BOX/FRONT END. TRUCK SHIFTS THROUGH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION JUST AS IT SHOULD. NO PROBLEMS. WE DID INSTALL THE POSI-LOC FRONT DIFFERENTIAL FOR THE 4X4 TO ENSURE THAT YOU ARE IN 4X4 WHEN YOU NEED IT. THIS KIT REMOVES DODGE'S FRONT VACUUM ACTUATOR FROM THE FRONT END AND INSTALLS A RELIABLE MECHANICAL LOCK THE TRUCK DOES HAVE THE BACK RACK AND ROTATING BEACON, AND SPOT LIGHTS FOR NIGHT WORK. WE ALSO INSTALLED THE NEW FLIP OUT MIRRORS OFF OF THE NEWER TRUCKS ($230) IT ALSO HAS THE WESTERN SNOW PLOW WIRE HARNESS ($550) THE TIRES ($$1240) DOLLARS ARE ONE WEEK OLD!! PUT ON FEB 1ST

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat [w/videos]
Tue, 22 Jul 2014Darrell Waltrip once said, "If the lion didn't bite the tamer every once in a while, it wouldn't be exciting." The sentiment behind that aphorism is causing my adrenal gland to wake up as Dodge and SRT drivers and engineers - somber-faced to a man - give me the track talk that will precede my driving the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT on the circuit at Portland International Raceway. PIR might not be Daytona, and the 707-horsepower Challenger Hellcat might seem tame to a legend like ol' Jaws, but there's a not-small part of me that's thinking about how hard Dodge's fire-breathing kitty might bite.
Just a few hours previous, I'd gotten behind the wheel of the Hellcat for the first time, letting its hyperbole-spitting, supercharged V8 Hemi pull me yieldingly through Portland's morning commuter traffic. Lulled into a cocky certainty by the Challenger's good manners at low speed, I drove the throttle just a hair too deep, too fast when I ran on to the highway ramp. For just an instant the rear tires were utterly drenched in torque, and the back end of the big Dodge loosened up like a drift car on a wet track. Throttle steer lives at the fleeting whim of your right foot in this car.
It was no big thing to lay off the gas and pull the Hellcat back in line as I entered the highway, but the incident did get me to thinking: What will this car do to me on a road course?
eBay Find of the Day: Viper Defender from '90s TV show
Fri, 24 May 2013As car lovers, it's always hard to find a good television show with decent cars, but what the 1990s show Viper lacked in acting, scripting and plot, it more than made up for with cool cars. For starters, the lead car was a Dodge Viper RT/10, but, on screen, it was able to morph into its "Defender" mode making it an armored coupe with a full arsenal of weapons.
Fortunately, you don't have to be a fan of the bad show to love its lead car, and if you really want one, a Defender is up for auction right now on eBay. According to the listing, this car is the real deal - not a clone - and it comes with a V8 engine (not sure what happened to the V10?) and plenty of swag and memorbilia. No word on its actual asking price, but with a day left and 42 bids already, the reserve has not been met at $133,400. The listing does add that this same car was listed at Mecum back in 2010, but did not get sold, even with a bid of $270,000.
Mopar '13 Dart will roll into Chicago next week
Thu, 31 Jan 2013We think this officially counts as a tradition. Every year going back to 2010, Mopar has rolled out a limited edition version of a popular product from the Chrysler Group portfolio. First it was the Mopar '10 Challenger, then the Mopar '11 Charger, then last year's Mopar '12 300, and this year it will be the Mopar '13 Dart, which will make its official world debut next week at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show.
Limited in number to just 500 units, the Mopar '13 Dart is no mere appearance package, though the demeanor of the Dart will be murdered out with a gloss black finish, gloss black 18-inch wheels, a set of Mopar blue stripes and a mean-looking Mopar ground effects kit. Likewise, the interior is touched up with leather seats (a blue one for the driver and black hides for the passengers), gloss black and black chrome trim, blue accent stitching, a sport pedal kit and other Mopar interior accessories.
Turning our attention back to the mechanical bits, the Mopar '13 Dart comes with the car's most powerful engine, a turbocharged 1.4-liter MultiAir four (shared with Fiat 500 Abarth) that's paired with a manual transmission. Those big, black wheels get wrapped in low profile 225/40R18 performance tires, and keeping everything in check is an upgraded brake kit with slotted rotors. The steering has also been calibrated for performance, the suspension lowered seven millimeters, and the exhaust tuned for better engine breathing.
