Up for sale is a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 MEGA CAB CUMMINS!!!! Last of the pre-emissions cummins! I am the second owner of this truck. It has 83,000 miles on it and is a very clean truck. Paint is in excellent condition with the exception of a few minor dings and chips. Interior is gray clothe seats with reclining rear seats and a sliding rear window. It has new 18x10 moto metal wheels and bfgoodrich tires with less than 4,000 miles on them. Running boards from wheel to wheel which is nice for getting into a tool box in the bed. As for aftermarket for under the hood; Banks intake and 5" exhaust turbo back, upgraded transmission with a deep sump pan, belt driven lift pump with fuel filter for better fuel pressure, B&W flip down fifth wheel in the bed, brake controller, fender flares, wheel wells in the rear and recon clear LED cab lights. It has AMS OIL from bumper to bumper and weather tech deep floor mats front and back inside the cab. Tinted front windows to match the rears and rain guards on all windows. Mechanically the truck is very sound. I would tow a big trailer across the country tomorrow without a second thought. This truck has been my baby since I bought it but unfortunately has to go due to financial reasons. My loss will be someones big gain. There is still a lean on this truck. Indications of 825 hp and emissions issues for Hellcat called 'speculation' by Chrysler
Tue, 16 Sep 2014The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is probably one of the hottest cars of the moment mostly because of its insane, 707-horsepower supercharged V8. However, there are conflicting reports coming out that the powerplant might be having problems with its emissions compliance and may be capable of even more power.
Jalopnik says that an unnamed source within Fiat Chrysler Automobiles told it that the Hellcat was having problems meeting emissions standards at its 707-horsepower tune. The person claimed that the automaker has been testing the V8 with different types of sensors, possibly to make it a bit cleaner in the future. Autoblog spoke to SRT spokesperson Dan Reid, and he said about the claimed poor emissions, "It's totally speculation."
The source also claimed that the Hellcat had been dynoed at a monumental 825 horsepower, internally. Based on the other rumor, though, it's hard to imagine the engine being emissions compliant like that. Autoblog also asked Reid about this speculation about more power and was told, "They are totally speculating about that."
Subaru Legacy pitted against Roadkill project cars
Fri, 05 Sep 2014There's an evergreen debate among auto enthusiasts about whether they would prefer to have the latest and greatest car of today or a certified classic from yesteryear. What if you had to further define that, though, and the choice was between a brand new 2015 Subaru Legacy or a turbocharged Datsun 240Z with a hatch that wouldn't close? Roadkill aimed to find out that and more in one of its best videos to date.
According to the hosts, Subaru came to them, handed over some money and challenged Roadkill's project cars against its latest Legacy. The result is every bit as good (or better) than any automotive-themed show you could find on television.
Things start simple with a figure-eight race in a rodeo arena with the Subaru taking on Roadkill's 1968 Ford Ranchero, originally built for ice racing. From there the Legacy races a 1968 Dodge Charger with no windows around and off-road rally stage. Finally, the Subie goes head-to-head against the Rotsun, the aforementioned turbocharged 240Z, through an abandoned neighborhood. Plus, there's a bonus drag race challenging them all.
Chrysler recalling 278,222 trucks and SUVs over bad rear axles
Thu, 14 Feb 2013Chrysler has issued a recall of 278,222 light trucks and sport utility vehicles here in the United States. The reason: bad rear axles. Specifically, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the rear axle pinion nut may lack a necessary adhesive patch, which could cause the nut to loosen. If this happens, the axle can lock up, which could cause all sorts of havoc on the road.
This is an expansion of the rear axle recall announced in October of last year, where 44,300 Ram 1500 and Dodge Dakota models were being called in. At that time, 12 accidents had been reported due to the faulty axle pinion nut.
Affected vehicles include Ram 1500 trucks from the 2009 to 2012 model years, Dodge Dakota models from the 2009 to 2011 model years, and both the Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango SUV twins, both from the 2009 model year only.
