The condition of the vehicle is nice overall, and it includes all of the tool storage and shelving options someone would need to use it without any additional investment. I drove this vehicle from the dealership when I purchased it, and therefor can represent its issues as accurately as possible. Was being used every day until late last fall. -Includes original owners manual, and 2 sets of key fob style remote keyless entry keys THE BAD NEWS -The truck has a fault code for the brake force distribution, which prevents the operator from driving the vehicle beyond second gear. -The rear door latch is missing the lower striker plate, was borrowed off this vehicle to keep an active vehicle in the fleet rolling. both of these issues could be easily rectified, and the truck returned to active service. This is very low mileage for the powertrain in one of these vehicles, most commonly making it in excess of 300,000 miles. |

QB says University of Alabama offered him a Corvette to play football
Fri, 16 May 2014The University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team could be in some hot water, following a pair of posts on social media.
The first post was sure to raise a few eyebrows on its own. It's an Instagram of sophomore running back Derrick Henry standing in front of his new Dodge Challenger (we're guessing it's an R/T based on the fender stripes). Complete with a custom set of wheels, the image was enough to trigger more than a few questions about where an unemployed student-athlete came up with the money for such a purchase. Now, this could be harmless. Henry, flush with a full-ride to Bama could have convinced his parents to get him something nice with his college fund.
The second post, though, is a straight-up accusation. It comes from former West Virginia Mountaineer and current CFL quarterback Pat White, who posted the following on his Facebook page.
Chrysler recalls small number of 2013-2014 cars and trucks over engine debris
Thu, 12 Dec 2013Chrysler is recalling a small number cars over issues with their 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. The recall, which affects 522 examples of its 2013 Dodge Avenger and Chrysler 200 models, as well as 2014 Jeep Compass and Patriot CUVs has to do with potential debris in the balance shaft bearings.
The abrasive stuff can cause the oil pressure to drop, which could lead to the engine stalling or outright failure. This situation could at best leave drivers stranded and at worst lead to a crash.
Chrysler will begin notifying owners, who will need to report in to have the balance shaft module replaced. All repairs are naturally free of charge. Scroll down for the bulletin from NHTSA.
NHTSA investigating 110,000 Ram 2500s and 3500s, one death alleged
Fri, 23 May 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation focusing on 110,000 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups from model years 2004 to 2006. One death has already been reported, according to NHTSA, due to a potential fault with the clutch interlocks on manual-transmission versions of the heavy duty pickup.
According to the report, these trucks can be started without depressing the clutch. There have been three reports so far, and as we mentioned above, one very sad incident seems to have resulted in the death of a child.
"One complaint involved an incident that occurred when a child was able to enter the vehicle and start the ignition without depressing the clutch. The vehicle then moved forward striking another child resulting in a fatality," NHTSA said in the investigation bulletin, which you can view below.
