1995 Ferrari F355 Spider Coupe 2-door 3.5l on 2040-cars
Emeryville, California, United States
1995 Ferrari F355 Spider
The Ferrari 355 Spider was produced from 1994 through 1999 and replaced the Ferrari 348. The 355 was viewed as an enormous improvement over its predecessor in terms of driving feel, performance, and serviceability. Two versions were available; the Berlinetta and the GTS. Over $135,000 when new, today they represent excellent value in modern Ferraris, and have developed a strong following. Certainly when new, the specification was impressive, with over 100hp per liter, five valves per cylinder, a 6-speed transmission, among the first offered in the United States. This particular car is an unmodified and unmolested 28,500 mile 6-speed spider finished in black with tan interior. The car is equipped with Challenge rear grille as well as modular wheels. The original wheels are included with the car. It is in very good cosmetic condition, with nice paintwork, which shows minor swirl marks and a few chips on the front of the car from road use. The panels fit and operate well. The glass and lights are in excellent shape as well, as are the wheels other than light curb rash and clearcoat deterioration to the rim only on the right rear wheel. The remaining three wheels are excellent. The trim is generally excellent other than a small area of black paint peeling from the trim on top of the driver’s door. The interior is original and in good condition. The dashboard shows virtually no shrinkage, just a small amount limited to the binnacle and passenger airbag cover. The gauges and switches are nice, while the leather is intact and in good general condition, although there is some wear to the driver’s seat bolster and a good thorough cleaning and conditioning would benefit the car significantly. The carpets are in nice shape and the trim is intact although it is displaying the typical stickiness that affects Ferraris of this period. The engine compartment and front compartment are both unmodified and very clean. The car comes with tan over mats and Schedoni leather bag for the tools and compressor. The car is equipped with an Alpine 6 CD changer. This is a great opportunity to acquire an affordable open Ferrari in a tasteful color combination with 6-speed transmission. Unmodified and with great integrity, this car has low mileage. It is due for a belt service at this time and comes with its original wheels, tools, and compressor. WE ARE AWARE THAT THIS CAR IS NOT CURRENT ON ITS MAJOR SERVICE AND WE HAVE PRICED IT ACCORDINGLY! TERMS AND CONDITIONS: This car is sold AS IS without warranty. A 10% deposit is due upon the successful completion of the auction. Remainder of payment is due within one week of the end of the auction, and prior to the delivery of the vehicle. Fantasy Junction reserves the right to end this auction early in the even of the sale of the car outside of eBay. Inspection is available and encouraged, and should be arranged and completed prior to the completion of bidding. If you have NEGATIVE or ZERO feedback, please contact us prior to bidding. Please contact us for names and phone numbers of local professionals familiar with this type of car, whom you may interview and with whom you may arrange an inspection. If you are concerned with what the car may need, an inspection is an excellent way to remove surprises. Ferrari F150 Enzo successor is Geneva bound [UPDATE]
Sun, 10 Feb 2013Ferrari has announced the automaker will debut the company's "most powerful HyperFerrari [sic]" at this year's Geneva Motor Show. The news came courtesy of Instagram, where the Italian automaker posted a familiar-looking rendering with a quick note. Details are still remarkably scarce, though Ferrari says the successor to the Enzo throne will be able to "turn into a corner" as quick as a Formula One car thanks in part to the fact that the road-going machine will feature as much downforce as an F1 competitor. From what we've heard so far, the Enzo replacement will boast over 800 horsepower from the combination of a V12 engine and a HY-KERS system.
We've already heard some interesting tidbits about the new machine, including the fact that each model will come with a driver's seat tailor made for the buyer. Ferrari says we can also expect to see a quicker 0-120 mph sprint than the old Enzo with 40 percent fewer emissions. Stay tuned for live photos from the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
UPDATE: After some looking into it, Ferrari does not appear to have an official Instagram account, or at least doesn't list one alongside its other official social accounts. We're of the mind now that what appeared on this Instragram is not officially from the Horse's mouth.
Pranked angry Ferrari owner says urine trouble now, man!
Tue, 16 Apr 2013A good rule to live by is that you should never mess with another man's car, but Roman Atwood learned that you probably shouldn't even pretend with another man's ride... especially when it's a Ferrari 360 Modena. The internet prankster was trying to perform a little handicap parking spot justice by acting as if he were urinating on an Italian supercar that he felt was illegally parked.
Needless to say, the owner of the car was not amused by Atwood's antics, proceeding to shove him, shout obscenities and even yell, "I could buy your whole family." Both men seem like real class acts. Check out the prank-gone-wrong below.
You can apply to attempt to break the world record for fastest blindfolded driver [w/video]
Sat, 07 Jun 2014The Guinness-certified world record for "fastest speed for a car driven blindfolded" is 186.12 miles per hour, set by Mike Newman in a Porsche GT2 last year at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in England. Then earlier this year, Newman said he'd go for the 200 mph mark - something he might want to talk to fellow Bruntingthorpe speed demons Vmax200 about. UK firm Extreme Motorsport, which seems to have been set up solely to set blindfold driving and riding records, wants to wrest the record from Newman using a Ferrari 458 Challenge and the even longer runway at Elvington Airfield in York, England.
Strangely, it appears the terms "legally blind" and "blindfolded" equate to the same thing. The Guinness record and Extreme Sports say "blindfolded," but Newman and the man who held the record before him, Turkish pop singer Metin Sentürk, are legally blind and neither of them wore blindfolds during their record attempts.
No matter - the real point is that Extreme Motorsport is casting about for a driver to set a new record. The could-be-shady part is that Extreme is pretty vague about what's involved; they'll provide the car or the motorcycle, but you have to "choose a charity and pledge to give them all the funds you raise above the entrance fee and for any other personal expenses you may need to participate in the challenge." Extreme doesn't give any indication of how much that entrance fee might be.
