Vehicle Description 1999 FERRARI F355 F1 ROSSO CORSA (RED) Tubi Performance Exhaust ONLY 12k MILES This very limited production, and highly collectable, 1999 Ferrari 355 Serie Fiorano is offered for sale. Finished in very CLASSIC ROSSO CORSA RED with Tan interior. There were 100 Serie Fiorano units delivered to the U.S. market, 74 with the F1 transmission and 26 with the 6-speed manual. An additional 4 units were produced beyond the planned production with 3 European models and one South African delivery. In effect, the Serie Fiorano was built by Ferrari as the final tribute to what was then regarded by most afficionados as the most successful Ferrari production vehicle ever produced, and it remains to this day one of the most collectible, and easilly accessible, rare Ferraris. This pristine vehicle is unmolested, never damaged, never painted. The interior is very clean - there is none of the usual shrinkage, cracking etc commonly associated with 355s that have not been properly cared for. Some of the special features associated with the Serie Fiorano are as follows: Racing brake kit, Cross drilled brake disks, Red calipers, Dedication number plaque, Rear challenge grill, Carbon fiber interior accents (console/trim around radio and three center gauges, door sills), Carbon fiber F1 paddles, Scuderia Shields and Fiorano handling package, (consisting of stiffer front and rear springs, lowered ground height of 3 inches. Additionally, these limited production cars had front/rear challenge roll bar, Challenge steering rack, stiffer rate coil springs, and a revised ECU specific to Fiorano setup providing more torque and power output). This Ferrari comes with all books, and all keys. The only item that is not completely "stock" is the fitment of a Tubi exhaust which noticeably enhances the already impressive exhaust note of these cars. If you are looking for a very rare Ferrari that is truly unique, a daily driver (if desired), and won't cost a fortune to repair/maintain like many of Ferrari's older collectibles, then this is a car that should be seriously considered by Ferrari fans and collectors. Sebastian Vettel to leave Infiniti Red Bull at end of 2014
Sat, 04 Oct 2014Things are going to look very different in the Formula 1 paddock come 2015. Official word came down from Infiniti Red Bull Racing that Sebastian Vettel, who won four driver's titles while with the energy-infused fizzy drink and marketing company, will be leaving the team after the 2014 season comes to an end. Taking Vettel's well-worn seat at Red Bull will be Daniil Kvyat, who will join Daniel Ricciardo for 2015. Feel free to read that official announcement below.
While no official announcement has yet been made, rumors swirl that Sebastian Vettel will drive for Ferrari in 2015, taking the place of Fernando Alonso, who many believe will end up at McLaren, which itself is in line for a major driver and team shakeup next year as it switches to Honda power. It's not clear where the rest of the current crop of F1 drivers will land, but as this first blockbuster domino falls into place, expect the rest to fall in line in the coming weeks and months.
Ferrari planning 458 Speciale Spider?
Wed, 25 Jun 2014The Ferrari 458 comes from a long line of mid-engined V8 supercars to roll out of Maranello, from the 348 and F355 to the 360 and F430. Each has also bred a Spider version, and starting with the 360 Challenge Stradale (through the 430 Scuderia and 458 Speciale), a hardcore performance version. But combining the best attributes of Spider and performance model is relatively new territory for Ferrari, one which it attempted only with the limited-production Scuderia Spider 16M. And if the latest rumors are to be believed, it's about to go at it again.
Though we can't verify its sources, 4WheelsNews says it has double confirmation from within Ferrari that a 458 Speciale Spider is in the works. When reached for confirmation, Ferrari refused to comment, as it typically does on the prospect of new models yet to be announced. Given the precedent of the Scuderia Spider 16M, it would seem to make sense, but for the time being we'll have to chalk this one up as a rumor.
If it were built, the Ferrari 458 Scuderia Spider (or whatever it would ultimately be called) would take the best of the 458 Spider and 458 Speciale to pack the 600-horsepower version of Maranello's sweet-revving 4.5-liter V8 underneath a folding hardtop. The latter is something the 16M did not offer, but crucially, the new McLaren 650S Spider does. We'd also expect only a limited number to be produced at a suitable premium over the Spider's $257k MSRP and the Speciale's $288k sticker.
2015 Ferrari California T [w/video]
Tue, 03 Jun 2014I'll never forget the day I bought my very first Ferrari. It was a bright-red F40, I'd saved up for it for what felt like an eternity and I couldn't wait to get home so I could park it next to my other four-wheeled piece of pride and joy, a stealth-black Lamborghini Countach, so I could compare their blunt-edge, wedge-like shapes and massive spoilers in microscopic detail.
The year was 1987, and the event felt like the pinnacle of my life's achievement. Though both of my Italians had been die-cast in 1/18th scale, I coveted the two supercars with the verve of a true collector, taking in the intricacies of their engine bays, opening their doors and turning their working steering wheels. In reality, the two could have hardly been more different, and yet they both looked like finely crafted perfection to my seven-year-old eyes, their questionable day-to-day practicality completely overshadowed by their unquestionably exotic shapes.
More than two decades later, I'm belting myself into the driver's seat of the 2015 Ferrari California T, the first turbocharged Ferrari since the F40 went out of production in 1992. The Tuscan countryside spreads out ahead, a twisting barrage of two-lane roads on the agenda, and I can't help but reminisce of my much younger self as I twist the red key and thumb the equally red ignition button on the steering wheel.
