Car came from Sicily in 2002. 90% restored, I tried to keep this car mostly original with some new parts.
Original 2 cylinder 500cc engine. Had a soft re-build on this in 2002. Upgraded the generator to an alternator, rest of the engine is original. Replaced gaskets and muffler to get it running nice. Actual mileage unknown, and all work was done in Sicily by locals.
All done in 2002; Lowered body Fog lights New bumpers Seat covers Seat belts New carpet (2004) Matching new floor mats New blinkers, location moved Upgraded fuses and some electric New canvas top New glass all around New wipers New paint Stearing wheel Shifter Pedals Power windows and radio (not working the best) A few Abarth accessories
Keep in mind this is not a “show” car, but it’s in great shape for its age. It is currently in running condition, but has a dead battery. Otherwise runs great! It is being sold AS IS.
This car is currently registered in NY as historical, insured with state farm (for $13,500), and current inspection is expired only because I did not keep up on it, but it only needs a NY state safety inspection which I have always been able to get with this car. |

This Fiat 500 covered in human hair is a world record holder
Thu, 09 Oct 2014Are you the type of person picks up little pieces of lint or hair in your car to keep things clean? If so, then this Fiat 500 in Italy might just drive you insane. An Italian women and her classic Fiat 500 have received two Guinness World Records for creating the world's hairiest car.
Maria Lucia Mugno grabbed her first record in 2010 after she covered her Fiat in 220 pounds (100 kilograms) of human hair, according to Guinness. But apparently that wasn't enough, because she recently set a new milestone by increasing the car's tresses to 265 pounds (120kg). It reportedly took 150 hours to create her follicle Fiat art car.
Covering your vintage Fiat in human hair would certainly be odd enough, but the story takes an even weirder turn. According to World Car Fans, Mugno reportedly imports the locks from India because the hair there is supposedly stronger than what's available from Europeans. We just hope that the stuff is getting washed somewhere in the process.
Fiat gives outgoing Ferrari chairman $35M severance package
Thu, 11 Sep 2014Luca di Montezemolo may not have wanted to leave Ferrari this way, but don't feel too bad for the departing chairman, because he'll be hitting the ground with a golden parachute so big that he'll never have to work again.
According to the latest reports, Fiat will pay Montezemolo 26.95 million euros (nearly $35 million) in severance pay. A little more than half of that will be paid in a lump sum of 13.71 million euros ($17.7M, equivalent to five times his annual salary) on January 31, 2015, with the rest to be paid within the next 20 years.
The payment is contingent on Montezemolo not going to work for a competitor, so don't expect to see him replacing Stephan Winkelmann at Lamborghini or Wolfgang Dürheimer at Bugatti any time soon. At least not until March 2017. Of course with that much cash on hand, the 67-year-old marquis need never work again, but considering how busy he's used to keeping himself, we'd be surprised if he didn't pop up again somewhere.
Fiat 500 commercial expanded into 'Sexy People' music video
Tue, 07 May 2013The last time we wrote about the Fiat USA commercial Immigrants, it was to question whether the ad provided our first glimpse of the 500T. That was a year ago, but Fiat isn't finished utilizing that commercial theme. The song in the one-minute commercial was Sexy People (All Around the World) by Italian songstress Arianna, and the Immigrant commercial has been lengthened and turned into a music video for the song as Arianna prepares that track and more for her first studio album.
The tune features Pit Bull and the clip is like a hip-hop video meets The Little Mermaid. Well, until Charlie Sheen shows up. That's when it starts Winning, and you can enjoy it all in the video below, along with the original ad from Fiat.
