2013 Fiat Abarth Loaded With <1,400 Miles...outstanding Condition!! on 2040-cars

US $20,250.00
Year:2013 Mileage:1304
Location:

Outstanding condition and as close to showroom new as you will find.  There is not a single scratch on car, rims, interior, etc.  Non-smoker vehicle that still smells like a new car!  I purchased this vehicle new on March 30, 2013 when it had 17 miles on it.  It was delivered from MI to Northern IL and had 293 miles on it when it arrived.  I have therefore put roughly 1,000 miles on the car. This is my daily driver, so mileage will continue to increase.

This Abarth is a blast to drive with incredible handling and perhaps the most amazing sound I've heard out of a car costing less than $100k!  This vehicle is equipped with every option that I am aware of and had an MSRP of $27,995 (I have window sticker).  While I prefer the Abarth without the side "ABARTH" decals, I do have a set of (factory) black ABARTH decals that I will include with this vehicle so they can be installed by the new owner at his/her time/expense if he/she so desires.  You will find plenty of Abarth photos (with decals) on the internet if you aren't familiar with what I am referring to.  This vehicle is equipped with: (black) Leather and heated seats, power sunroof, Beats (by Dr. Dre) premium audio system with factory subwoofer in rear cargo area, Sirius Satellite with balance of 12 month full access subscription (from ~March 29, 2014), CD/Sat/AM/FM, Blutooth phone connectivity through audio system, USB port with media function that displays all music files and folders on the stereo screen AND optionally on the driver's informational screen, multi-functional driver's display with tire pressure sensor reading, trip computer A & B, average miles, fuel economy, etc. Also included are 17" hyper black performance rims with Pirelli tires, red brake calipers, etc.  The vehicle is 100% STOCK - never modified - however there are many aftermarket upgrades available through such sources as "Madness 500" if the 160HP / 170 LB Ft Torque don't propel this vehicle quickly enough for you.  This Abarth achieves an estimated 28/34 MPG when driven responsibly via a five speed MANUAL transmission.

There are no stories with this Abarth.  Never damaged, clean title, not a scratch, stain, or blemish that I am aware of...even the rims are completely free of curb rash.  I am in my mid 40s and sold a larger vehicle in late March, which required me to find a replacement vehicle in < 2 days.  I thought I would relive my youth with a fun, sporty, fuel efficient, performance vehicle.  While this Abarth has upheld it's end of the bargain by being all these things and more, I'm not as 'youthful' as I once was.  Simply put, I need a more practical vehicle for our family of five.

Despite an MSRP of $27,995, I am aware that due to incentives on new vehicles I won't get anywhere near what I paid.  That said, the Buy it Now price is very fair/reasonable.  In many states you will also pay less sales tax buying private party vs. dealership.  This vehicle has the balance of full factory warranty (4yr / 48,000) and I have a certificate for a few free scheduled oil changes.

If you are looking for an amazingly functional, fuel efficient, sporty, and very unique performance vehicle in like new condition, look no further...this is THE car for you.  Please be advised that I paid cash for this vehicle and have a clear Illinois title in hand.  That said, this is in no way a distress sale.  If you arrive with a cashier's check for agreed upon price, the car & title are yours that day!  No waiting for me to obtain title from a finance company.  If I don't receive the right offer, I will simply keep the car.  Please be advised that if you email me with a ridiculous, unsolicited offer you will likely receive an equally ridiculous (and not so friendly) response, if I even respond at all.  If you are seeking an Abarth, you will NOT be disappointed with this vehicle.

Thank you for looking and bidding!

2015 Fiat 500 Abarth automatic targets broader appeal

Tue, 24 Jun 2014

There aren't many manual-transmission-only offerings on the US market, and now there's one fewer. The 2015 Fiat 500 Abarth has just gone into production with a newly available automatic option.
We've known that the hair-raising, high-performance Cinquecento has been scheduled to get a two-pedal setup for some time, but now we have more specifics on the gearbox itself. According to Fiat, the six-speed automatic is derived from the same Aisin unit used in the standard 500, but it's been substantially reengineered to cope with the 1.4-liter MultiAir turbo engine's added power. Allison Singer, a vehicle integration engineer on the 500 Abarth's development program tells Autoblog that the modifications to the gearbox include "gears that have been reinforced and a few extra clutch plates," among other changes. Unfortunately, there are no paddle shifters, as the 500's steering wheel was not designed to accommodate them, but at least there's a +/- manual gate on the gearshift lever.
Interestingly, the automatic brings with it substantially different power numbers than its manual counterpart. The new model receives 157 horsepower and 183 pound-feet of torque, which is 3 horsepower less than the manual, yet it packs a whopping 13 pound-feet more torque, which should aid drivability. By comparison, the five-speed manual 2015 Abarth registers 160 hp and up to 170 lb-ft. New features that come with the auto include a dedicated sport mode, rev-matched downshifts, fuel-cut upshifts, shift logic that holds gears in corners and 'fast-off' situations, along with sharper throttle tuning. Despite the added torque, Singer admits that "The manual will probably be a tiny bit quicker as far as performance goes," but she is confident that the transmission's availability will open the car up to a much broader market of buyers.

Marchionne completed Fiat-Chrysler deal from a Florida beach

Fri, 03 Jan 2014

Sergio Marchionne is the CEO of Fiat, which as you may have heard, has finally worked up a deal to finish acquiring the Chrysler Group after months of bargaining with the United Auto Workers and its VEBA healthcare trust, which owned just over 40 percent of the American brand. Where was Marchionne when the deal was finally hammered out? Well, not tucked away in a frigid Detroit board room until the wee hours of the morning.
Nope, one of the largest deals in automotive history was reportedly hammered out on the beach - at the home of a banker, in the Florida resort town of Vero Beach. Marchionne traveled to the home of Alain Lebec, a senior managing director at Brock Capital LLC, one of the advisory companies for the VEBA fund, where both sides met to make final arrangements in the $4.35-billion exchange. The location of the final deal, though, is nearly as remarkable as the pace with which it came about.
According to anonymous sources pinned down by Automotive News Europe, before the meeting, the two sides were meeting in Detroit as recently as December 19, which is where Fiat made one of its final revised offers. Naturally, the VEBA made a counter offer, which led Marchionne to initiate the Vero Beach meeting.

Abarth marks 50 years of 595 with special edition Fiat 500

Wed, 04 Sep 2013

Abarth presented its original 595 at the Turin Motor Show in 1963. It was the car that put the Scorpion marque on the map and propelled the original Fiat 500 into hot hatch territory. And to mark that occasion, Fiat's performance brand is launching the special edition you see here.
Revealed here ahead of its public debut at next week's Frankfurt Motor Show, the new Abarth 595 50th Anniversary Edition packs a 1.4-liter turbo four with 180 horsepower (20 more than the standard 500 Abarth) channeled through the Abarth Competizione gearbox to the front wheels. The Scorpion brand has also retuned the suspension, fitted 305-millimeter Brembo discs, 17-inch wheels and installed a variable back-pressure exhaust.
Billed as the most powerful 595 to date, the special edition is identifiable by its matte white paint, red racing stripes and retro logos. Step inside and you'll find red leather buckets with white trim. Only 299 examples will be made, but don't go looking for this in US showrooms, as the Abarth range and the Fiat 500 upon which it's based is different in the two markets.
