1966 Ford Bronco. Uncut, unmolested true survivor 1st year Bronco. Other than a repaint several years back and a new carpet, this truck is completely original. The motor is a 170 c.i six-cylinder with only 83,000 miles. This was the only motor available for the early 1966 Broncos. Transmission is a 3 speed on the column. Seats are original material in excellent condition and were only available for 1966 in this color (silverish blue). Other parts exclusive to 1966 that are included on this truck are hubcaps, tail lights without back-up lights, transfer case shifter knob, door & window handles, forward mounted rear shocks & squared off bumpers. The 1966 Bronco hubcaps are very rare and worth about $500 for the set. (These caps are on the truck in the photo with the top off). Also exclusive to these 1st year Broncos is the fold down windshield & removable vent windows. I have the original steel hardtop and also a white EZ-Trac soft top. Both tops are in very good condition.  The soft top features removable side & rear tinted windows.  Everything works on this truck - all gauges, lights, 4-wheel drive - EVERYTHING!! Tires & brakes are good. It starts right up every time and is ready for summer cruise nights & shows.

NADA classic car guide lists the value of this 1st year Bronco at $14K to $25K. My reserve price is fairly in between. You will search a long time to find a Bronco this nice & rust free.  Especially on the east coast. Believe me, I did it when I purchased this truck several years ago. This truck is originally from WV. I have the original owners manual with the 1st owners name & address & name of dealer where it was purchased.

Also, if you have plans to cut up this Bronco & make some off-road trail truck, keep searching. This Bronco deserves to stay original - just as it's been for the last 50 years.

Please feel free to ask lots of questions and be sure to know what your bidding on before you do.  Email me your phone number & I will call you back if you would like to talk about the Bronco before you bid.  $500 deposit required in the form of a certified check is required within 1 week of auction end.  Bronco should be picked up within 2 weeks of auction end.  Bronco is located near Allentown, Pennsylvania.  Please contact me & we can discuss other options if you are a serious buyer.

Ford F-150 SVT Raptor sales jumping to new heights

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

Ford can't seem to build F-150 SVT Raptors fast enough. The off-road-ready trucks have been one of the Blue Oval's most reliable sellers, with record sales in eight of the last 10 months and a 14-percent jump in 2013. That's impressive enough, considering that the least expensive Raptor starts at $44,000. Factor in the modded F-150's fuel economy (it's rated at 11 miles per gallon in the city and 16 on the highway) and a national average gas price, as of this writing, of $3.55 per gallon, and its success is as unlikely as Ford's home team, the Detroit Lions, winning the Super Bowl this year (sorry, Lions fans, we're just quoting the experts in Vegas...).
Yet for some reason, Raptors spend an average of just 15 days on dealer lots before being snapped up, which is a quarter of the 60-day industry average. According to Ford's truck group marketing manager, Doug Scott, it's capability that keeps the Raptor selling strong. "What's helping drive Raptor sales is that Raptor delivers unmatched off-road performance to our customers. Raptor is also proof of our commitment to offer a truck for every customer and continuously improving them to meet our customers' evolving needs."
To address the strong demand for Raptors, Ford will bump production from three trucks per hour to five. Not much, we agree. But building an extra 48 trucks per day, at most, seems like a prudent way of addressing demand without oversaturating what is ultimately a niche market. Check out the press release below for more.

Mulally will stay close to Ford after he steps down, plans to advise Fields [w/video]

Fri, 27 Jun 2014

Ford CEO Alan Mulally has less than a week left in his role of leading the Blue Oval before he hands off duties to Mark Fields on July 1. It doesn't look like Mulally is going to be shuffling off into his retirement anytime soon, though. The 68-year-old is being rather secretive about his next move, but he tells Bloomberg in a recent interview that he plans to stay close to Ford. Also, if Fields wants to ask for any advice, Mulally is happy to help.
Mulally took over at Ford in 2006 and led the company through a seriously rough patch in the auto industry. According to Bloomberg, he became famous or his Thursday meetings where executives were forced to deal with any problems before they could leave. Since announcing his retirement from Ford in May, Mulally has been insuring a smooth transition of power by traveling the world to all of company's major locations and saying goodbye to employees and dealers.
In terms of the future at Ford, Mulally doesn't predict any big changes in management style because the rest of the executive team is staying in place. He believes that Fields is going to maintain the processes already in place to keep things going. After all, it seems to be working. The company is predicting a return to profitability in Europe next year and is opening 88 new dealers in China. If the business could get its recalls under control, things could get even better.

Ford Fiesta becomes UK all-time best seller

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

We may regard Ford as an American automaker, but ask a Brit and they may tell you otherwise. The Blue Oval has, after all, been selling cars in the UK since 1903, and started manufacturing there as far back as 1911 when it began local production of the Model T in Manchester. Last year Ford ended 100 years of vehicle manufacturing in the UK when the last Transit van rolled off the assembly line in Southampton, but it's still the biggest-selling automotive marque in Britain.
Ford has led the British market for 34 out of the past 45 years, selling more Fiestas than any other company sells any other car in the UK since 2009... when it overtook the Focus. In fact the Fiesta has now become the best-selling car in British history, topping 4,115,000 units since its introduction in 1976. The previous record was held by - you guessed it - another Ford: the Escort sold 4,105,961 units over the course of its 32 years on the British market.
Although the Fiesta is no longer manufactured in the UK (previous versions having been built at Dagenham until 2002), engines are: the EcoBoost line was developed at the company's R&D center in Essex and are built at the factory in Dunton, while its diesel engines were developed at Dagenham in East London. Even the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine in the Fiesta ST is built in South Wales.
