1968 Ford Bronco on 2040-cars
Highland, Michigan, United States
I have decided to sell my hard work (and $$) of the past two years. The truck has been totally gone through in that time. it is very reliable and have used it as daily transportation in the summer from time to time. BODY: The paint and body work had been performed by the previous ower in 2010. It has a sticker from the body shop who did the work in the glove box lid. I would consider the work to be a real nice "5 footer" paint job. That being said there are some flaws like a fish eye or two and some dust in the finish that still could be sanded or wheeled out. You would need to look for these areas but i will disclose that. Also there are two spots that have a crack in the paint that have been there and not gotten worse since i have owned it. All of the door jams and underside of doors are rust free and clean. I send HOURS scrubbing and cleaning the frame and underside of the truck and POR 15 and under coated it. INTERIOR:All gauges and wiring work as they should. I have added a headlight harness to take the stress off of the head light switch and factory wiring. The interior is from a Ranger package and is in very nice driver condition with no rips or tears. There is just one same crack in the driver seat that is not a issue at this time.I have a nice radio with four speakers and a small powered sub under the back seat. I also added a Brono Bob family cage for protection. It does have a soft top that is in good condition except it has a 2"x2" hole that had to be repaired. DRIVETRAIN: This Truck was built from a mix of a 1968 and a 1977 Bronco. the drive train is from the much more desirable 1977. the motor is a 302 that does not tick, knock or smoke. the compression i checked when i got it was around 130PSI and very consistant. It like all old cars/truck leaks a bit of oil after each drive. I belive the leak is from the rear main seal, but is very light. I have replaced the voltage regulator, distributor was rebuilt, new power steering pump, new radiator, hooker headers, intake gaskets, termastat, plugs, belts, hoses, starter, ect. rebuilt carb, manual choke. It has Dana 44 front axel with disk brakes, a Ford 9" rear end, and a Dana J shift transfer case.I replaced the rear axel bearings and seals. The diff fluids have been replaced. I belive the rear also is a ford trac lock posi. The trans is a C4 automatic that was just rebuilt along with the transfer case less then 2000 miles ago. SUSPENTION: It has a 2 1/2" lift. It also has duel shocks at all corners. I have replaced all of the rear suspention, BDS shocks, and DEAVER 11 pack rear springs and all bushings. WHEELS: new set of american racing Outlaw II wheels with 32" BFG KM2 mud terrains. Maybe 2000 miles on them. Im sure i am missing alot as i did sooo much to this truck, These are the best photos i have available right now, as it is in the garage in storage. I encourage you to call and ask questions and ask for pictures if needed.I also would encourage you to come look at it in person at delivery if possable but will Help ship once all money has been collected.Iwill ask for a 500 non refundable deposit with in 24 hours of auction end, and final payment with in 4 days. I will store it as long as nessary where it sits once paid for. Good luck and happy biding, truck is for sale locally so i may end auction at anytime. contact me @ bglossinger@gmail.com and leave me your name and number to call you back for any detail needed. |

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Ford Transit can haul on the track
Tue, 19 Aug 2014Line up any two comparable vehicles, and eople are going to want to race them. Need proof? In its latest track battle, Auto Express wants to know which commercial vehicle can lap a circuit faster - a Ford Transit or Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Let's face it, neither of these European vans were ever meant to be near the track unless they are delivering a racecar and a ton of parts for a fun weekend, but it's massively fun to watch them give it a go anyway.
The one thing that Auto Express really illustrates here is the modern marvel that is stability control. The driver hops curves, and these big vans lean in the corners like your friend walking home from a long night at the bar. However, because of the amazing stability systems, the vans mostly keep all of their wheels planted and never seem close to getting sloppy, despite their behemoth size.
Unfortunately, the two vans aren't exactly fairly paired. The Ford has a dual rear axle and a few other advantages over the Mercedes, but it's still hilarious to watch them go. Even better, the host breaks down everything happening behind the wheel like these commercial vehicles were two Porsches. Enjoy watching this very unorthodox battle between Ford and Mercedes.
Old vs. new debate gets new life with $25,000 Fiesta ST vs. E46 M3 showdown
Fri, 10 Jan 2014You know who you are. There's probably a few of you reading; the ones that say, "Why would I spend $27,000 on a new Mazda MX-5 when I could get a used Chevrolet Corvette with more power." Yes, we're talking to you, used car proponents. While it is a fair argument, it's not like used cars don't come with drawbacks of their own, though.
In an attempt to put this new-versus-used argument to bed once and for all, Matt Farah of the The Smoking Tire has picked up a pair of $25,000 cars - a used, but lightly modified, 2003 BMW M3 and a 2013 Ford Fiesta ST. Naturally, there's a comparison.
Farah, as he's wont to do, does get into the nitty gritty of what each car is like to drive, and discusses the merits of used and new-car shopping. But as he rightly points out while testing the M3, "So, it is a good car. But like any used car, it really does depend on the individual car."
2016 Ford Mustang SVT hides big power under its domed hood
Tue, 17 Jun 2014With a number of 2015 Ford Mustang versions finally available to configure, the fun of speculating about next year's high-performance 'Stang can now begin. It looks like Ford has something seriously fun planned too. One of our spy photographers just snapped some fresh pics of the 2016 Mustang SVT, which is believed to be hiding the final body shape under all of that heavy camouflage.
Ford clearly doesn't want prying eyes looking at its new pride and joy. It would be hard to put much more obfuscation on a car than this one wears - it even has mesh baffles around the exhausts to conceal how many there are and panels over the wheels to hide their design. However, the Blue Oval can't keep everything a secret. The biggest clue that something special is hidden underneath is the massive hood bulge and vent in front of it. Clearly, whatever is under there is hungry for cool air. The shape of the camo indicates that there may be fender vents on each side, and there are also obscured outlets behind the front wheels likely to pull cool air through the brakes. At the rear, the concealment does its job, making it hard to observe any big changes. The fact that Ford wants it kept such a secret might indicate something, though.
A few photos of the interior show far less cover than the outside. You can easily make out the model's 6,500 rpm redline with a possible 7,000 rpm over-rev function. The big Recaro sport seats also look quite supportive.
