Up for auction is my 1969 Bronco Sport.  Firstly the pictures are 4 years old....the Bronco is buried in the back of my garage where it has sat for the past 4 years.  I will add more pics when I get it out!  My plan was to restore it but I never got around to it.  Have too many other projects going on and decided to let it go.

It has a 351W engine, 3 speed column shift, 4WD, and standard brakes and steering.  The roof is NOT a factory half cab.  It is a standard wagon roof that was cut down by the previous owner and it was done very nicely.  From the outside the only way you can tell is that it has a hatchback instead of the regular rear window.  The divider behind the seats was fabricated by the same guy who did the roof.

It needs a full restoration but is a VERY good candidate for one!  It is VERY straight but rusty.  I did find a rust hole in the frame near the LR shock mount but repairing it shouldn't be a problem, it didn't go to either flange.  It has the typical Bronco rust in the floors and you can see the rocker panels.  There is no exhaust, just short down pipes on the exhaust manifolds.  Fenders and hood are very good other than some rust through in the leading edge of the hood on the right hand side.  The rear door posts where the door strikers are need replaced.  Front posts seem pretty solid and the doors close pretty good.  Dash pad is no good and glove box door is bent.

The brakes are not working at all.  When I bought it the LR emergency brake cable was frozen and I had to cut it to get the brake to release.  It could be pulled on a tow dolly but you would have to bring tires for it, I would not recommend pulling it on the tires that are on it.  I will help load it.

I did have the engine running when I bought it but the carb was leaking gas.  I did drive it around a little and the 4WD worked and the transmission worked in all gears.  The electrical system seemed good, most of the lights worked and I suspect the ones that didn't had corrosion issues with the bulbs.  It had sat for 7 years when I bought it.

I have the PA title in my name.  Buyer would be responsible for transfer fees and there is a notary about 15 minutes from me.  I accept Paypal or cash when picked up.  I will help load it.  It is also for sale locally at the buy it now price so the auction may end at any time.  If you have any questions feel free to contact me!  Thanks for looking!

I have removed it from the garage and added more pictures.  The front floors have been repaired and do not look bad, they are solid.  There is rust through behind the seat in the floor.  I included a picture of the rusted out part of the frame.  It is on the bottom between the axle and rear spring hanger.  Still repairable in my opinion, it is a box frame and could easily be pieced in and reinforced.  The floor in the rear isn't bad, just a few spots around the edges.

****Edit-7/18/14****   I just want to clarify about the hole in the frame.  It is clearly visible in the last picture.  In this picture you are looking at the LR corner of the Bronco from underneath looking back.  The hole is beside the spring hanger on the bottom of the frame.

Ford confirms Everest SUV production for China

Sat, 19 Apr 2014

According to Ford, the Chinese SUV segment grew by 49 percent in 2013, and the Blue Oval held a 4.5 percent market share. At the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, Ford is showing the Everest SUV that, while just a concept for now, will go into production in the near future.
The Everest is a big, brawny seven-seat SUV that mixes solid, chiseled styling and contemporary Ford design cues. Up front there is an angular version of the trapezoidal grille and sharp, wraparound headlights. The beltline rises in the rear to make the back appear higher than the front. The rear seems just as chiseled, with the taillights resting in jagged scallops. There is no doubt that this concept means to look rugged, and ready for rough roads - the whole thing looks pretty great.
The truck was penned by Ford's Asia Pacific design and engineering team in Australia, and it was first shown in Sydney last year. Ford's JMC joint venture will build the truck for the Chinese market, and it will be sold at Ford dealers there. The Blue Oval isn't hinting at what powers the production version yet, but it reportedly shares some components with the foreign-market Ranger.

How Ford hid the 2015 Mustang from spy photographers

Fri, 20 Dec 2013

Now that we've finally seen the 2015 Ford Mustang, it's fun to go back and look at the spy shots we spent months pouring over, trying to dissect what was under all the camouflage. For the most part, Ford did a good job of concealing the car from spy photographers, and it released a video showing how much work went into doing so.
As crude as the Mustang's camo looked, all of the hard plastic, foam, vinyl and ratchet straps were actually created and put in place by a specific design team. The whole idea was to hide the car's identity, but it certainly ended up acting as a magnet for attention, too. According to Ford's press release, it took less than an hour for spy shots to appear online after the car was taken on public roads for the very first time - this is likely in reference to our first official spy shots of the Mustang from June, shown in the gallery below.
Scroll down for a press release and video, which shows footage of the 2015 Ford Mustang testing with minimal camouflage. This is probably the same track session where we got our first look at the Mustang's face back in August.

Auto critic calls out Corvette, Mustang and Cherokee faithful

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

Most automotive purists fear change, but not without reason. Change, after all, did kill big-block V8s, along with most station wagons and manual transmissions. But change has also brought with it far more performance, safety and fuel economy - not to mention ridding the world of shag carpet interiors, bias-ply tires and those horrible motorized seatbelts of the early '90s.
By this time next year, the Chevy Corvette, Jeep Cherokee and next-generation Ford Mustang will all be on sale and will all, in some way, have angered or offended purists. To those critics, Mark Phelan of the Detroit Free Press is preemptively telling them to stop complaining - at least until they've all been driven. From the Corvette's square taillights and the Cherokee's radical nose to whatever pony car purists will harp on the 2015 Mustang for, Phelan's column points out the positives of automotive evolution and the negatives of staying the course for too long. That's fair enough, but do you think Phelan is on point, or all wet? Head on over to the Detroit Free Press to read his words, then have your say in Comments.
