Just finished this Bronco in May. Has 100 miles on restoration. Sits on a clean rust free frame with a rebuilt torqie 200 straight six that has about 5,000 miles on it. (will include a 302 and all necessary parts for the swap if you would like). Installed a NP235 top loader 4-speed ( instead of the factory 3-speed on the column) and twin sticked the transfer case. Also upgraded the front end to a dana 44 with a 3.50 gear ratio (70's had a dana 30) Wheels are a rare stroppe style slotted mag that were refinished and new BFG KM2 33x10.50 tires mounted. Includes a painted all steel half cab in exellent condition as well as a bikini top. Also upgraded to electric wipers. Other new parts include new paint, ballie built half cab cage, fenders, floors, door posts, innerfenders, wheelwell, paint, liner in bed, bumper, springs, shocks, radiator, battery, mirror, emblems, centech mini fuse wiring harness, brakes, windshield, weather stripping, steering wheel and the list goes on. This is not a $25,000 show bronco but is a perfect daily driver. The paint is Dupont base clear and came out good, not perfect. Panels lined up quite well for a bronco but again not perfect. I would like to sell this to a local buyer that can look at it before buying. I prefer not to ship if possible. Thanks. Call Nate at (413) 664-0124 for more information

Ford posts decade-best $2.1B profit in Q1 2013

Wed, 24 Apr 2013

As predicted, Ford has reported that its first quarter of 2013 was a resounding success overall, with a pretax profit of $2.1 billion ($0.41 per share), and a net income of $1.6 billion ($0.40 per share). In fact, Ford made a pretax profit of some $2.4 billion in its home North American market, with that total number being pulled down by losses in South America and Europe. That gaudy North American profit is the strongest result by the automaker since 2000.
Ford's companywide profit for Q1 was down $147 million from one year ago, while the net income number marked an increase of $215 million year over year. Overall, this is Ford's 15th-consecutive profitable quarter.
The bad news from the European market was even worst in Q1 2013 than it was last year. Pretax losses of $462 million - on revenue of $6.7 billion - represented a year-over-year change of -$313 million. In South American, the company reported a loss of $218 million, down from a slim profit of $54 million in Q1 2012. The news was better for Ford Asia Pacific Africa, where a $6 million pretax profit in 2013 showed a year-over-year gain of some $101 million when compared to losses in 2012. Ford reports 58% drop in Q2 profits on European losses

Wed, 25 Jul 2012

Ford Motor Company announced Wednesday that it has posted a $1 billion profit for the second quarter of 2012. That sounds like good news for the Blue Oval, until you take into account that Ford posted a $2.4 billion profit for Q2 a year ago. That is a substantial 58 percent loss.
Ford also posted $465 million in international losses, with $404 million of those losses coming directly from Europe. The automaker also increased its European loss projections to $1 billion for 2012, due in large part to the economic crisis overseas, which has resulted in increased unemployment and decreased consumer confidence.

Automakers' rush on aluminum may result in shortage

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

Aluminum is the new buzzword in the automotive industry. The latest Range Rover and Range Rover Sport both take advantage of the lightweight material to shave huge amounts of body fat (only it's called "aluminium" over there). Audi and Jaguar have been using the stuff for years in their A8 and XJ, respectively, and now, aluminum is going mainstream, arriving on the 2015 Ford F-150.
While we're excited to see aluminum make an impact outside the premium market, its widespread adoption apparently won't come without some problems, notably in terms of supply. "There isn't an automotive manufacturer that makes vehicles in North America that we're not talking to," Tom Boney, of Novelis, the largest global supplier of aluminum sheetmetal, told The Detroit News.
According to Boney, Ford's use of aluminum on such a large scale has forced auto manufacturers in "every boardroom" to reconsider their plans following the F-150's unveiling, for one simple reason: there's not exactly enough aluminum to go around, at least in the short term. The auto industry presently only accounts for six percent of the aluminum sheet produced, but as the material is adopted by more and more brands, that figure is expected to swell to 25 percent within the next six years.
