This is a rare, beautiful, rust free, documented one owner, original 1976 Ford Bronco with A1 original title.

The Bronco was purchased new, January 31, 1976, from Holder Grant Ford in Pickens, SC.  In addition to the 302 V8 power plant, this '76 has power steering, power disc brakes, and auxillary fuel tank.  It has many upgraded trim features, all installed from the dealership, which included the following:

  • sliding rear glass windows (original windows included)
  • hard spare tire cover
  • side trim
  • fender flares
  • sunroof
  • roof rack
  • houndstooth covered sides and door panels

The owner also added a few period correct items, such as:

  • tachometer
  • clock
  • compass
  • fuel economy gauge

This Bronco has never been off road.  It has been meticulously maintained by its original owner, but now at 84 years of age he has decided that he can no longer keep it up.  He would now like for someone else to have the opportunity to enjoy, it as he has.

It has been gargaged for its entire 37 years of life.  That is displayed in its very straight and rust free body.  The only blemish to the Bronco's exterior is one dent that is located on the top at the rear of the vehicle (see photos).

The history of this Bronco is very well documented with SC state inspection stickers from 1977 on.  It also has the hard plastic warranty card and other documentation that came with its initial purchase (see photos).

The truck runs and drives great, and the tires are in like new condition.

As you can see from all the photos, this is a beautiful, original Bronco inside and out.  It has no spray paint cover-ups on its frame or engine.  The photos depict how the Bronco really is without any tricks form a detail shop.

I cannot emphasize enough how well kept this truck is.  It is a true survivor of its time so don't miss the chance to own a piece of Ford automotive history.

I reserve the right to end the auction early because it is also for sale locally.

Ward's reveals annual 10 Best Engines list for 2013

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

Ward's Auto has released its annual 10 Best Engines award winners. The 2013 list covers the full width and breadth of the internal combustion spectrum, from a spate of efficient four-cylinders to the most powerful production V8 on the planet. As always, the entries must be available in a production vehicle in the first quarter of 2013 with an MSRP of less than $55,000. The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 from the Audi S5 held on for the fourth consecutive year, and BMW earned two spots on the list with its turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and turbo 3.0-liter inline-six.
Ford pulled in two awards for its 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and and the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 from the Shelby GT500. Honda matched BMW and Ford with two wins of its own. Wards awarded the 2.4-liter four-cylinder from the Honda Accord Sport as well as the 3.5-liter V6 from the Honda Accord. Chrysler, General Motors and Subaru each garnered a spot on the list as well for the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500, the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the Cadillac ATS and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder the Subaru BRZ, respectively. Autocar pits Formula Ford against Germany's finest

Wed, 25 Sep 2013

Ford has quite the racing pedigree, but usually, its racers are relegated to the track. Not the new Formula Ford EcoBoost, though. It's a turbocharged, open-wheeled racer complete with a 200-horsepower, 1.0-liter, three-cylinder engine... and it's legal on the roads of the UK.
That's stressed in this video from Autocar, with the mag going so far as to show the car's tax disc and license plates. Being a road-legal offering, it's tempting to see just how well an open-wheeler that delivers racecar-like performance while also netting over 100 miles per gallon (assume this is on the British cycle, for obvious reasons) stacks up against modern performance cars.
Autocar lined up the Formula Ford against an Audi R8 V10, a BMW M6 Gran Coupe and a Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG in a number of situations to see which would come out on top. Take a look below for the full video.

Court puts kibosh on apartheid lawsuit against Ford, Daimler

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Ford and Daimler have scored a major victory in a long-running lawsuit filed in US federal court by unnamed South African nationals. The suit alleges that both manufacturers and their subsidiaries sold their vehicles to the South African military, despite knowing that they'd be involved in violently putting down anti-apartheid protesters.
According to Reuters, South African plaintiffs filed the case under the 223-year-old Alien Torts Statute, a law which allows foreign nationals to file charges in US courts for perceived breaches of what was originally international law, but now more closely relates to violations of human rights.
And while the case - which also involves computer manufacturer IBM - has been tied up in federal courts for years, a recent case from the Supreme Court struck down a similar suit against Royal Dutch Petroleum (Shell), arguing that the ATS doesn't apply to corporations or to conduct if it occurred outside the US. In short, the law applies to individuals, but not corporations like Ford or Daimler. A US appeals court ruled that the conditions apply in this case, potentially drawing this long-running saga to a close, as the defendants will now be allowed to request that the case be dismissed in district court.
