-1999 Ford Crown Victoria P71 Police Interceptor-

Up for auction with no reserve is my 1999 Crown Victoria P71.  It has low original mileage of just over 100,000.  The tires are brand new, with less than 500 miles on them, and the driver's side of the exhaust system was fully replaced.  Also, the car has had the following services performed within the last two months:

  • New sparkplugs
  • New fuel filter
  • Fuel tank flushed
  • All eight injectors removed, cleaned, and reinstalled
  • Throttle body thoroughly cleaned
  • Brand new high-quality battery installed
  • MAF sensor cleaned
  • Oil change
  • Newer starter with only 70K miles on it
  • New windshield wiper motor

Overall, the car starts without hesitation, runs smooth, drives well, shifts nicely with no unusual noises, and the brakes feel solid.  Paint is original and in nice condition, with no body damage aside from some rust on the front fenders.  The condition of the car's interior is above-average for it's age.  The intake manifold is original to the car and will need to be replaced soon due to a crack at the thermostat housing.  This is also causing the 'check engine' light to come on.  However, there is no coolant leaking into the engine or exhaust system (no white smoke from the exhaust, no milky look to the oil, and she's firing on all 8 cylinders).  The shocks feel pretty firm and car has no other leaks besides the intake manifold.  I do recommend that the car only be driven short distances until the intake manifold is replaced.

Please note the following:  This car does not have a spare tire, and the hide-a-flash strobes have been disconnected as per eBay's equipment policy.  There are alternating hazard lights inside the trunk lid that can be connected if desired.

Vehicle shipping or transport must be arranged solely by the buyer, if desired.  A $100 deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction's close, and payment, cash only, must be made in full within 7 days.

Ford 3D-printing Mustang out of chocolate and candy for Valentine's Day

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

Is your beloved in love with the new 2015 Ford Mustang? Do they like chocolate (that's a trick question - everyone likes chocolate)? Are they a bit of a futurist? Then this Hallmark holiday, you need to get them this Ford Mustang, 3D-printed in sweet, delicious chocolate.
Ford is teaming with 3D Systems' Sugar Lab in LA to produce the super-accurate pony car confections in both chocolate and sugar candy varieties. The process kicked off with a CAD rendering of the 2015 Mustang, which was then programmed into the 3D printer. After a bit of work from the machine, a four-inch long, two-inch tall Mustang was the result. Why the tieup with 3D Systems, though?
"We wanted to create something fun to show that while 3D printing made these edible Mustangs, manufacturing-level 3D printing was used in the development of Ford's all-new sports car," said Paul Susalla, Ford's supervisor of 3D printing.

Jay Leno sees how the other half lives with CHP cop cars new and old

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

Comedian Jay Leno is changing gears from driving fast cars to checking out some of the police cruisers that regularly chase down and dish out punishment to those fast cars. In this episode of Jay Leno's Garage, we get the lowdown on the modifications made to the Ford Explorer for the Interceptor package (which looks pretty tough in its California Highway Patrol livery).
The new Ford is cool, but cooler still are the pack of classic CHP cars that Jay has along for the episode. A 1982 Mustang, 1966 Dodge Polara, 1970 Mercury Monterey and 2000 Crown Victoria are all in the shop. Better still, Jay lays out an argument for ones of the classic cruisers as the best cop car of all time. Get your guesses in now, and then scroll down to watch and learn.

2015 Ford Mustang gets pricing, configurator and less weight than expected

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

It's here; it's finally here. No more speculating or looking at dealer order guides, the configurator for the 2015 Ford Mustang is finally online. That means you should put down whatever you're doing and build your new 'Stang. Weight data for the new model has also leaked out, and while there is an increase, it's less than previously rumored.
The basic V6 coupe carries a base price of $23,600, plus an additional $825 destination charge for all models. Upgrading to the 2.3-liter Ecoboost costs $25,170, and the Ecoboost Premium is $29,170. If you need a V8 in your life, the Mustang GT is $32,100 or $36,100 with the Premium package. That puts the starting price up about $1,000 over the previous generation for the V6, but the turbocharged four-cylinder starts about $1,400 less than the V6 Premium, which is no longer available. Prices for both V8 models jumped about $1,000, as well.
If you need the convertible Mustang, the V6 starts at $29,100, excluding destination, $1,590 more than last year. The Ecoboost Premium 'vert is $34,670, and the GT droptop is $41,600.
