2000 Ford Crown Victoria Cng - No Reserve! on 2040-cars

Ford Crown Victoria runs on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). This is a dedicated CNG engine and does not run on gasoline. This vehicle has served me faithfully for a dozen years, getting about 21 MPG on CNG which currently sells for $1.50 in the state of Utah. That is dollar equivalent to getting nearly 50 miles to the gallon, but in a large, spacious vehicle. I commute from Springville to Salt Lake City regularly using the carpool lane with a Clean Vehicle pass issued by UDOT. The tank holds about 14-15 gallons, and have I driven it more than 300 miles on a single fill up. Natural gas burns clean leaving less engine residue and allowing for a longer engine life that is ever expected with a gasoline engine.

The body of the vehicle in great shape other than a fair number of rock chips. The interior looks very clean. The car feels like it could use new shock absorbers, and the engine hesitates some until it warms up, but I have no problem taking it back and forth along the Wasatch Front. I have also taken it on numerous trips between Utah and Southern California, and to visit my daughter in Pocatello, Idaho.

This vehicle was originally owned by Cal State Channel Islands as a vehicle for school administrators. It has a police interceptor engine for extra power and extra CNG tank capacity, but was never fitted as a police car. It was outfitted to carry executives and it plush and comfortable inside. It has power windows, power door locks, power side mirrors, cruise control, an A/C that runs cold, and a Kenwood sound system with USB and CD. The car has six seat belts, but seats five very comfortably.

2016 Ford Focus RS mule spotted on US soil

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

Okay Ford, this is what we like to see. One of our intrepid spy photographers has captured a vehicle that we weren't even sure would see the light of day - the next Focus RS. While this is pretty clearly a mule based on the current Focus ST, as our spy points out, there are a number of giveaways about this hot hatch's true nature.
Indication number one that all is not right with this Focus is the heavily camo'd front fascia, which has been completely reconfigured for duty on the RS. It boasts significantly larger grilles that are meant to accommodate what is likely the 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder that's destined for the 2015 Ford Mustang. Considering that, then, we can expect around 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque from the hottest of Foci, although it's entirely possible that the production model could climb even higher, to around 330 hp.
The front fascia tweaks are complemented in the back by a modified rear bumper, which fails at hiding a pair of exhaust tips quite unlike the standard Focus ST's center-exit exhaust. Other obvious changes include the wheel/tire/brake package on this particular car. Larger 19-inch wheels are shod in super-sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in 235/35/19 while the brakes feature what we think are four-piston calipers, possibly from Brembo, up front.

Ford Fiesta rally car warms up in Sweden

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

Rallycross is seeing a sudden surge in popularity with two series bringing the racing to the US and Europe. The Ford OMSE team is competing in both championships this season, and it saw no reason not to hold practice with a highly modified Fiesta in the snow of Northern Sweden. It brought together Andreas Bakkerud from the European-focused FIA World Rallycross Championship and Patrik Sandell from the North American-focused Global Rallycross series for some training and fun. They certainly appear to be enjoying themselves, too, with some lovely pirouettes in the powder.
If you're unfamiliar with rallycross, the discipline combines the best of rallying and circuit racing. Drivers (with no co-drivers) race rally cars over a circuit that generally mixes dirt and asphalt, and unlike traditional rallying, multiple cars compete side-by-side at once. Even better, it's often a very two-fisted form of motorsports with lots of car-to-car contact. Global Rallycross and World Rallycross will both kick off their seasons in May. With spring on the way, scroll down to watch the Fiesta kick up some of the last snow drifts of the year.
