-2002 Ford Crown Victoria P71-
Up for auction is my 2002 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. It is white with blue interior, and features the original police rims with beauty rings. This car is in very good cosmetic condition. The exterior has a nice shine to the finish, and only shows a few light scratches and one tiny rust spot on the passenger's side front wheel well. There is also a larger scratch along the bottom of the passenger's side doors, where the car scraped a rock. This, however, is not terribly conspicuous and has been touched up a little (see photo). This car is equipped with many extras which are listed below.
Regarding the pros and cons, this car will need some engine work. There is a misfire on cylinder 3 which is causing the check engine light to come on and the car runs somewhat rough. I was told that it needed a new intake manifold, but when I had that done, the misfire came back a few weeks later. Also, the shifter/gear selector knob is a little loose and I was told it needs repair. Otherwise, this vehicle is mechanically sound and could make an excellent daily driver once the misfire is taken care of. The brakes were replaced less than 15K miles ago, it had a full tune-up a year ago, and the rear differential was rebuilt recently. Also, this car has had regular oil changes every 3000 miles or so, and I have lots of service records to go with it. I bought the car from the original owner - the Centre Island Police Department in Nassau County, NY. They did a lot of regular and preventative maintenance on this vehicle. Tires will need to be replaced in about 5-10K miles, and the full-sized spare is brand new. Below is a list of some after-market features with this vehicle:
- Dual Spotlights (driver's side is operable)
- Interior Dome Light
- Headlight Flasher (disconnected)
- Maglite mounted on glove box
- Havis-Shield console with after-market switch panel (disconnected)
- CB Radio with Antennas, Microphone, and PA Speaker (disconnected)
- (6) AMBER Strobes of High Quality - Mirror, Grille, Rear Deck (all disconnected)
- After-market Pioneer Radio with CD Player and USB port for iPod - makes the sound system sound ten times better!
- Rear windshield is heavily tinted
Please view all the photos and feel free to ask any questions. No shipping unless it is solely arranged by the buyer. Deposit of $150 required within 48 hours of auction close, and cash balance due within 7 days of deposit.

We spy the Ford Mustang King Cobra early at SEMA
Tue, 04 Nov 2014As is the case with most auto shows, waiting for the reveal of hot new models is the worst part. So, while our own Drew Phillips has been wandering the halls here in Las Vegas since they unlocked the doors for SEMA 2014, we didn't expect him to come back with any big reveals until later in the day. Until this happened.
Meandering by the Ford stand, Phillips eagle-eyed a trunk lid that caught his attention. Popping out from an otherwise draped 2015 Mustang, the matte black lid clearly has the name King Cobra embossed on the rear.
That name is interesting for a few reasons: to start, Ford hasn't used the Cobra name (without "Jet" attached) since way back in 2004, so a new snake is certainly something to take note of. Second, the King Cobra name dates all the way back to the ill-remembered Mustang II, meaning there is a clear link to Blue Oval history here.
Ford Australia pulls the ol' talking car prank
Mon, 07 Apr 2014Siri from Apple has proven that being able to talk to your technology doesn't always work perfectly. But what if it could eventually go far enough to give a personality to inanimate objects like our cars? Ford took just this path to comedic effect by playing a prank on many unsuspecting Australians, in a new commercial for its EcoSport compact crossover.
The Aussies seem very nonchalant about having a random parked car talk to them, and they seem surprisingly game when it asks them to get in, call a celebrity and tell a joke. (We're guessing there are some hilarious outtakes, too.) Scroll down to watch some folks from Down Under have a conversation with Ford's CUV.
What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name
Thu, 07 Aug 2014
The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?
