Up for auction is a fresh out of service well maintained Crown Victoria police interceptor with low mileage. Only 72,400 miles! Very hard to find near perfect Blue exterior. Just in from a southern state and it shows, a very clean car with no rust and rides like new coming from a county in VA with no pot holes... unlike here in Ohio. Interior is in great shape with NO cage holes or cut up or drilled dash. Options above standard include silicone hoses, adjustable pedals, power seat, full size hubcaps, legal tinted windows, door moldings installed. All accessories work as they should with no issues found. This is one of the cleanest best driving p71s of its age I have seen, the body is in excellent shape very shiny with no dents or scratches, only very minor normal imperfections that would be expected of a car its age that's been well taken care of. Engine runs perfectly and transmission shifts perfectly, tires are in great shape and brakes have approx. 75% life left. It has been fully serviced and checked over by a ASE certified mechanic and has no known issues. All body panels have factory vin stickers. NHTSA will investigate some Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ models for power steering issue
Tue, 07 Oct 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is opening an investigation into the 2010-2012 Ford Fusion, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ, the 2012 MKZ Hybrid and 2011 Mercury Milan because the agency has hundreds of complaints of electric power steering failure in these models.
According to NHTSA's data, it has received 508 complaints of the power steering allegedly suddenly malfunctioning and resulting in increased effort to turn the wheel. In four incidents, these failures resulted in loss of control and crashes. According to the reports, in some cases a power steering warning message came on as the fault occurred, and other times the system restored itself by turning off and then restarting the vehicle. NHTSA said it has also received further field report data from Ford, but that information hasn't been publicly released yet.
For the moment, there isn't a recall for this failure on these models. NHTSA is just investigating them to "assess the scope, frequency and safety consequences of the alleged defect," and the agency says an estimated 938,000 vehicles could potentially be affected.
Ford recalling nearly 5,700 2014 F-150s for power steering issue
Wed, 25 Jun 2014Ford is recalling 5,675 of its 2014 F-150 pickups over an issue with the electric power steering system. There haven't been any injuries or accidents due to the issue.
Ford spokesman Mike Levine told Autoblog that the "electric power-assisted steering and motor position sensor gear were incorrectly installed by a supplier," leading to the recall.
While the recall is larger on the surface, it's important to note that only 260 trucks have been delivered to customers. The remaining pickups are currently en route to dealers. The affected vehicles were manufactured between May 26 and June 19.
