This is a recently retired Sheriffs Department Vehicle assigned to a single Deputy. This Crown Vic is nicer than most with a Power Drivers Seat and Cruise Control. It also has a fully carpeted floor. There was never a top light mounted to this one. It has a slick top with NO holes ever. Only two in the trunk that were properly plugged and sealed. The exterior and interior are very nice. There is a full size Goodyear spare tire in the trunk and includes a jack and wrench. This car has been maintained by the county since new with fully synthetic oil and runs great. The transmission shifts perfect. The paint is shiny. There are no warning lights on the dash. The brakes are excellent. There are no alignment problems. The undercarriage is dry and there are no leaks. This is a prior service vehicle so you will find the normal small holes in the front dash from the previous police equipment. There are a couple light scratches and there is some glue residue on the dash that should be easy to remove. The spot light is in place and there is a AM/FM CD player however neither currently work and may just be a fuse. For those of you that know these cars, this one has a lot of life in it. Ford gets its Movement on, releases 'Sounds of Focus' tracks
Sun, 25 May 2014Ford has, for at least the second year in a row, teamed up with techno promoter Paxahau and a couple of artists to make music in recognition of the Detroit Movement music festival. This time, Movement performers Ataxia and Secrets were selected by Ford, and were invited to spend some time at the automaker's Michigan Assembly Plant, which gives birth to the Ford Focus and Focus Electric models.
Now that we know the what, how about the why? According to Ford, "Detroit is uniquely tied to the origins of the electronic music scene. In the 1980's variations of electronic music stemmed from inspirations of industry, including the automotive sector." So, there you go. 2015 Ford Focus sedan shows its fresh face in New York
Wed, 16 Apr 2014That handsome fellow you see above is the 2015 Ford Focus sedan. We liked the looks of the 2014 Focus, and the updates for 2015 only improve things to our eyes, with the adoption of the Aston Martin-inspired grille that has been permeating Ford's lineup these last few years. Sweeping, slightly bulbous headlamps join a revised, more demure lower grille opening to round out the styling updates up front. The rest of the car's look is just slightly massaged, including new taillamp clusters that look much like they did last year.
New for 2015 is the availability of Ford's 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine, mated exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission. There's also a new SE Sport Package that adds more aggressive suspension tuning, paddle shifters (when equipped with Ford's six-speed dual-clutch automatic) and a few body kit bits and pieces. Rounding out the mechanical changes are an updated electronic steering rack that promises better feel, suspension tweaks to make the ride more comfortable and some software updates designed to make the dual-clutch gearbox better behave itself.
In addition, inside there are a few interior upgrades, as well as some added comfort and safety tech that includes available blind-spot detection and lane-keeping assist, along with other more incremental changes that all add up to a better vehicle. Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line
Wed, 05 Jan 2011The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.
