Up for auction is a 1992 Ford E-350 McCoy Miller conversion Ambulance with the 7.3L IDI Diesel engine. We are the second owner of this unit, purchased from a government agency and has had routine maintenance since new. We have replaced this unit with a brand new ambulance and no longer need this vehicle. This would make a great addition to any fleet or make into a camper/work van. All of the options work perfectly, AC front and back blow ICE COLD, Heat blows HOT. Unit has recently been serviced less than 1,000 miles ago and is ready to drive anywhere. Tires are about 50-60%, there are some minor dents, and scratches from the previous owner, but overall the paint and body are straight. There is some minor rust that has been addressed around a few small spots on the rear fender wells.
A new floor was installed 9 months ago in the back of the unit. It comes with a 1,000 watt inverter and on board charging system. Runs and drives very well for a vehicle that is 21 years old. This struck went through a through service 8 months ago including:
- Full Oil, Filter, Air Filter
- Transmission service
- Radiator Service
- Fuel filter Changed
- New Belt
- Idler Pulleys
- 2 Brand new Interstate Batteries
Thanks for looking and good luck. Vehicle is as with NO warranty. Please feel free to email with any questions.

Ford shows off V8-powered Ranger headed to Dakar Rally
Tue, 30 Jul 2013Avert your eyes now if you're jealous that the global version of the Ford Ranger is not offered in the US. Ford's midsize pickup is being tuned up to take on the 2014 Dakar Rally, and the result is a truck that is probably even cooler than any F-150 SVT Raptor we've ever seen in the States. Ford is actually building two versions of the truck for Dakar, which will run from January 5 through January 18, covering more than 5,000 miles from Argentina to Chile.
Starting with a fully composite body and a 5.0-liter V8 plucked from a Mustang, nearly every aspect of the trucks have been purpose built to take on the grueling race. This includes things like the six-speed sequential gearbox, liquid-cooled rear brakes and the 132-gallon fuel tank. As proof that Dakar is more about endurance than speed, the engines used in these race trucks will be limited to around 350 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, and will max out at a top speed of just 105 miles per hour. Scroll down for Ford's official press release offering more information about the trucks and teams being prepped for Dakar.
Ford celebrating 80 years of Aussie utes as it prepares to shutter Oz manufacturing
Wed, 26 Feb 2014Ford is ending Australian production after 90 years in 2016, and with it may go perhaps the most iconic vehicles in its auto market - the ute. Car-based pickup trucks like the Ford Ranchero and Chevrolet El Camino were always more of a curiosity than a true market force here, but in Australia, they have long proven hugely popular.
As the legend goes, Ford invented the niche after a farmer's wife had asked Ford Australia's managing director for a more utilitarian car. Her request was simple: "My husband and I can't afford a car and a truck but we need a car to go to church on Sunday and a truck to take the pigs to market on Monday. Can you help?"
Ford's design team came up with a two-passenger, enclosed, steel coupe body with glass windows and a steel-paneled, wooden-frame load area in the rear. The sides of the bed were blended into the body to make it look more unified, and to keep costs down, the front end and interior were based on the Ford Model 40 five-window coupe. Power came from a V8 with shifting chores handled by a three-speed manual. Within a year, the new vehicle was ready, and production began in 1934. Lead designer Lewis Bandt christened it the coupe-utility.
J Mays' legacy
Fri, 15 Nov 2013
Mays is by far not the first designer to use heritage design cues in his work.
The announcement that J Mays will be leaving his chief creative officer role at Ford Motor Company on January 1 ends a 13-year run in one of the industry's top design roles. While best known for having a hand in reborn classics like the Volkswagen New Beetle, Ford Mustang and Thunderbird (above), Mays' legacy is more complicated and nuanced than being considered the father of what is known as "retrofuturism".
