This 2002 Ford Escape has 146000 miles and change. I bought this vehicle last year in order to move here from Florida. After staying in an apartment near College Park for a year, I now live in DC and use my bike for everything. The rear seat pic shows indentions in the seat from a heavy drum bag with wheels...but the imprints are gone now. This truck is my next rent payment until my gi bill payment kicks in for school. It has a clean carfax history, but shortly after I bought it, it puffed out smoke upon starting...turns out it was the valve stem guides...so I had the heads re-manufactured along with the fuel injectors and intake cleaned up as well, new spark plugs too, essentially the top end was rebuilt. I also had all filters and fluids flushed. I had extensive brake work done and anything else that was needed for a long trip like hoses and belts, etc...it cost me over three thousand dollars and I have the paperwork from all of the work done. I also had the alternator replaced last year ($500.00). I switched the air filter out to a K&N. The truck comes with this model cartop cargo carrier except it is black to match the truck:

also included is a spare oil filter and filter specific wrench tool, the owners manual with nylon case, heavy duty all weather plastic mud proof floor mats up front, tire pressure gauge, windshield sun protector, spare tire and tool kit, and the 5 CD's that are stuck in the cd player.

The tires are at about 60% all around...see pics.

So here is the good and bad stuff that you should know about:

The bad:

-The CD player is broke...last year it would work intermittently and the cd's would eject normally, but they have been stuck in for some time. They do not play. The radio works fine though.
-The rear gate latch motor did not unlock the rear gate about once a month when I was driving it. I removed the plastic cover and was going to replace the latch motor (about 30-40 bucks off the internet) but never got around to it...easy cheap fix and it wasn't a huge enough problem for me. The interior plastic cover is still on but can be easily removed for the repair.
-The left rear door handle was broken off after some jerkholes decided to pull my cargo top carrier down from the top off my truck and pilfer my belongings when I first moved here and hadn't unpacked...this is my guess anyways. When I came out to my truck from the Giant grocery store, me and my son found what was left of the contents of the cargo carrier spilled out on the ground in the rain. The handle was busted off from when the cargo bag slipped down the side of the truck I am assuming. The door still opens from the inside and locks. I have the handle, but I haven't even looked at reassembling or repairing it. No other damage to the truck exists from this incident.
-The transmission occasionally slips while in drive. I do not know what it is and it only happened maybe once a week when I was driving it and only when the vehicle was warming up.

The good:

-The engine is in great shape since I had so much work done...also, brakes, and alternator are new.
-AC blows cold.
-The headlight covers were replaced right before I bought it so it looks nice and clean without the hazy sandblown look of older vehicles.
-Paint is in good condition with a few minor scratches heare and there.
-nerf bars on both sides.
-seats fold flat for tons of storage...I fit a single sized bed mattress in the back when I moved here.
-Luggage racks on the roof are sturdy and adjustable.
-power windows and locks and drivers seat

I am in a hurry to sell and simply don't have time to deal with the minor fixes that I have mentioned above. Parking in the city requires a bunch of paperwork and stickers...I'd rather just have a nice bike and use the metro.

Call me for questions and more photos at nine five four six three eight nine zero four nine. The vehicle is parked at my old apartment in berwyn heights / college park.

I am selling this vehicle on other sites as well. If this listing is still up then the vehicle is still for sale. I reserve the right to end the auction early and sell to a local buyer.

I am asking $2700.00. My reserve price is $2500.00, but I may sell below that depending on the final bid. I NEED to sell this vehicle and make rent. This vehicle has had substantial repairs done recently but does have between 50-75% of tire tread along with some minor scratches http://www.kbb.com/ford/escape/2002-ford-escape/xlt-sport-utility-4d/?vehicleid=3936&intent=trade-in-sell&options=150875%7ctrue%7c150961%7cfalse%7c151108%7ctrue%7c151041%7ctrue%7c150926%7cfalse&mileage=146500&pricetype=private-party#survey

This used vehicle is being sold as-is.

I accept cash, cashiers check, and money order only.

I prefer to meet during the day at a public place.

I have the title in hand.

See my feedback.

Thank you!

2015 Ford Mustang invades SEMA, led by King Cobra

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

Ford showcased more than a dozen customized 2015 Mustangs at its sprawling 20,000-square foot display this week at the Las Vegas Convention Center as the iconic pony car's 50th anniversary celebration continued at the SEMA Show.
While Mustangs are always a hot commodity at SEMA, the new generation brought increased attention from the aftermarket, as builders like Galpin Auto Sports, Richard Petty's Garage and Vaughn Gittin Jr. offered their takes on the new 'Stang.
The extensive display included a range of Mustangs from mild to wild, with everything from a 600-plus horsepower King Cobra pictured at the top, to paint-and-wheel packages. The new regal Cobra, which we spied early in our SEMA adventure this year, may not be the replacement for the Cobra Jet as we speculated, but it does seem to point the way forward for the next iteration of a supreme Ford dragster. Fat drag slicks out back make it's reason for being abundantly clear, and for tells us that modded car is good for a 10.97-second quarter-mile run.

Ford Fiesta ST gets worked out on the track

Sun, 10 Mar 2013

We're big fans of the turbocharged Ford Focus ST, and we're plenty excited that the Blue Oval will be offering a similar treatment on the smaller Fiesta here in the United States, too. We first saw the production-ready Fiesta ST five-door at the Los Angeles Auto Show last fall, and Ford has now released this video of a Euro-spec three-door ST being flung around the track.
But not just any track - the challenging Track 7 of Ford's Lommel Proving Grounds in Belgium. The course features 20 turns and plenty of elevation changes along its 2.7-mile loop, and David Put, a vehicle dynamic specialist at Ford, shows just how good the pint-sized Fiesta ST is at handling the lot, even getting the smallest ST up on three wheels every now and then.
It sure does look like a lot of fun, and makes us really eager for our chance to try this ourselves. Scroll down to see the hot little Ford getting busy.

Ford finally issues recall for 230K minivans over rust problems

Sun, 10 Mar 2013

The rust issue in the rear wheel wells of 2004-2007 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans has finally led to a recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began an investigation into the matter in 2011, said investigation being upgraded to an engineering analysis a year later while NHTSA tried to figure out how many model years should be included in the assessment.
Ford has decided to recall all of the 230,000 minivans potentially affected, namely those sold in salt-belt states and countries like Canada. The excess rust in the rear wheel wells was also able to prevent the third-row seats from locking to the floor of the minivan. To repair the problem, owners can take their minivans to dealers, and the dealers will place new panels in the wheel wells, replace the third-row seat mounting brackets and relocate the latches to an area away from any corrosion.
Ford says it will begin notifying owners during the last week of March.
