f you've been looking for a big vehicle to pull the boat to the water this summer and want to haul the whole family or maybe you've been looking for that perfect Excursion to do the Cummins swap but don't want to break the bank, then my very clean 2000 Excursion Limited 4x4 edition with 210k is for you.
Mechanically this truck is very solid. V10 motor sounds healthy through all the RPM's. Transmission shifts flawlessly through all the gears with no slipping or funny shifts. Steering is nice and tight. Drives down the road very well. Tires are wearing even and have about 60% tread left. Overall very solid and doesn't feel like the miles it has. Periodically the check engine light comes on with code P0174. Typically this is caused by a little vacuum hose that cracks but you can do your research as well. Just a very well cared for excursion that's ready to be driven anywhere. Cosmetically it's in great shape for the miles. Body is nice and straight with just a door ding or two. Paint is absolutely beautiful and shines like new in the sun. Has your typical light scratch here and there. Wheels look like new with not a bit of corrosion on them. Interior is very clean. Leather and carpet is in good shape with just your typical wear on the driver and passenger seat. Smells good inside and wasn't smoked in. Has rear DVD. NHTSA closes Ford F-150 EcoBoost acceleration probe
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Typically when we report on the findings of an investigation from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it's because the government body has discovered a safety issue and prescribed a recall. In this case, however, NHTSA has closed an investigation into a reported performance deficit without ever getting to the recall stage.
The issue revolves around the Ford F-150 - specifically those equipped with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine - of which some 360,000 were built in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 model years. After receiving an initial 95 complaints, NHTSA opened an investigation last May - almost a year ago - into the reported issue of reduced engine power under hard acceleration. The agency has since received a total of 525 such complaints, and Ford itself reported receiving over 4,000.
Together, NHTSA and Ford determined that the problem resulted from cylinders misfiring, an issue itself stemming from water getting into the charge air cooler (CAC) mated to the turbochargers. In particularly humid or rainy conditions, water was found to get into the CAC, causing some of the cylinders to misfire, which in turn triggered the ECU to disable those cylinders in order to protect the catalytic converter from damage.

Tue, 06 Aug 2013We've reported on a few R/C car chase videos in the past. One in particular that stands out as a favorite is Zach King's "The Cliché RC Action Chase." It featured a pair of Ford Mustang coupes racing through a cardboard city, plowing into outdoor patios and busting through construction zones. It was wonderfully creative and fun to watch, yet we know there was more to its creation than a bunch of guys fooling around with a camera one afternoon.
Turns out we were right, as evidenced by this video produced by Ford that takes us behind the scenes of Zach's creation. The young filmmaker explains why he chose the Mustang to star in his video, as well as how the cardboard sets were created, what equipment they used for shooting and what it was like when his video went viral. Ford found the young filmmaker and produced the followup as part of its Mustang Countdown video series, which will see a new video about the Mustang culture released every week until the original muscle car's anniversary on April 17, 2014.

2015 Ford Mustang Convertible makes inappropriate appearance in Detroit [w/video]
Tue, 14 Jan 2014With the polar vortex fresh in the minds of Autoblog's Detroit-based staff, we're finding it funny that any manufacturer would choose January in the Motor City to show off a new and highly anticipated convertible to the general media and public for the first time. But Ford has done just that, giving us our first real peek at the new Mustang Convertible in the flesh.
The new Mustang Convertible is more or less unchanged from the standard coupe, with some subtle styling tweaks to accommodate the retractable soft top. Engine and transmission choices are identical to the hardtop, although we should expect slightly lower performance due to the hardware for the roof. Like the coupe, neither prices nor performance metrics have been published yet for the convertible.
