2006 Ford Expedition, Blue, Eddie Bauer, Nav, Dvd, Tow Pkg on 2040-cars
Yorba Linda, California, United States
This is a wonderful car! It has had one owner -non smoker and it is in good to very good condition. It comes fully equipped with a Navigation System, DVD entertainment system (and you can put the volume from the movie you've already heard 100 times, to just be heard in the back seats-yaaa!). It has low miles, 17” aluminum wheels; has dual heated, power/memory mirrors, running boards, roof rails, privacy glass w/hidden antennae, lift gate w/flip glass, and a full size spare tire. It has a 6-CD changer; but the Navigation CD can be popped out from the dash and then a single CD book, or music can be put in. The steering wheel has cruise control, audio & climate controls at your fingertips. There is 2-tone leather Captains seats in the front, the 2nd row is a 40/20/40 split bench and the 3rd row is a 60/40 split bench with power lift & fold feature. There is a tire pressure monitoring system, a heavy duty trailer tow package, 28 gallon fuel tank, and back-up sensors (which honestly has saved my butt a time or 2...). Included is the original owners manual that came with this baby, 2 keys and alarm fobs and the code to use the keyless entry. I'll even share the tricks I leaned using the keypad to open and lock the other door and liftgate. There are also brand new factory floor mats that are the "parchment" interior color. This Expedition has 4 wheel disc brakes, keyless entry (LOVE this feature, seriously, I will never buy a car again unless this an option), securilock antitheft alarm system; 4 new tires in the last few months with no more than 3000 miles; recent new brakes, pads and rotors; recent tune up & new spark plugs, the air conditioner was recharged this summer; and the oil has been changed every 3000 miles. The original sticker price for this vehicle was $43,515. There are minor scrapes (no dents) on the front bumper, a careless shopper traded paint with me in a parking lot, please see the photo for reference. There is a Clear title, and the car has never been in an accident. Kelley Blue Book for this vehicle is $11,758. I’m pricing is at $759 below Blue Book, asking $10,999. Mechanically she is in great condition. I'm only selling her because my fantastic hubby bought me a new car (yaaaaaa me!!!) but I can't drive it until I sell this one, obviously I'm motivated. Now it's your turn for a new car! Shipping this sweet ride to you is an option, at your expense. If you have further questions or need more/different photos, please feel free to contact me. Thank you so much for looking. |

IIHS says these are the safest cars of 2013
Wed, 02 Jan 2013The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has revealed its annual list of Top Safety Picks, an award that highlights automobiles it says offer "superior crash protection." A new and still more significant award, the Top Safety Pick+ honor, is given to those vehicles that earn good ratings for occupant protection in four out of five areas of measure. And while some 117 vehicles were given the TSP seal of approval for 2013, just 13 passed muster for TSP+.
To be fair, IIHS only evaluated 29 vehicles with its new testing procedures for TSP+ (we'd expect that the number of qualified cars will rise substantially for 2014). Luxury and Near Luxury midsize cars were the first groups evaluated, followed by midsizers in the Moderately Priced Cars category - unsurprisingly, it's only midsize cars that you'll find among the class this year.
Only two luxury sedans made the list of 13 for 2013: the Acura TL and Volvo S60. The other 11 cars on the list included entries from domestic, Japanese and German car makers: Dodge Avenger, Chrysler 200, Ford Fusion, Honda Accord (sedan and coupe), Kia Optima (but not its close kin, the Hyundai Sonata, strangely), Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy and Outback, Suzuki Kizashi and the Volkswagen Passat all made the grade.
Ford hiring 800 more salaried workers than originally expected
Wed, 24 Jul 2013Ford is on a roll this year, with excellent quarterly earnings and better-than-expected vehicle sales leading to 800 more job opportunities with the Blue Oval. In January, Ford announced that it wanted to hire 2,200 salaried employees, but, since then, that figure has been revised to 3,000, representing a 36-percent increase over original projections. About 1,500 of those jobs remain, 80 percent of which are technical professional positions.
"Engineers and technical professionals are in as much demand as our cars, trucks and SUVs," says Felicia Fields, Ford Group Vice President for Human Resources. Helping to spur this job growth are increasing market share on both the West and East Coast and robust demand for the Ford Escape and F-150.
To find job candidates, Ford is reaching out to them via Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, in addition to the company's corporate career site. The Blue Oval is also ramping up its presence on college campuses.
Ford will build Hackmobile out of Transit Connect Wagon
Fri, 27 Dec 2013What you see in the above image is a rendering of the Hackmobile Transit Connect Wagon. What is that? It's a "mobile fabrication and hacking unit" that includes tools for metal- and woodworking, 3D and electronics fabrication, a three-axis CNC machine called "The Fabber," a video projector and screen, an air compressor, an 84x48-inch work surface that folds out like a Murphy bed and oh so much more. When not in use, all of the implements fold neatly into the back of Ford's award-winning van.
But perhaps the more important question is why is that? Because Make Magazine held an Ultimate Maker Vehicle Challenge in conjunction with Ford in which ten teams created were charged with creating "the ultimate Ford Transit Connect Wagon for the do-it-yourself enthusiast." Team Twin Cities Maker won the competition with the Hackmobile, and in addition to winning $10,000, Ford has declared it's actually going to build the thing - which is great, because if they can actually engineer a road-legal Hackmobile Transit Connect Wagon as envisioned, the inevitable A-Team movie reboot might need to think about including it.
Check out the video below for a cheeky walk-through of the Hackmobile, and get all the particulars in the press release below that.
